Nice work on that one! I picked up one in my neighborhood for free last weekend. Neighbors put it on neighborhood marketplace and said if anyone could fix it, come get it. I was that guy and could not get there fast enough. 2002 Foreman 450 S. It definitely has/had some issues. The bottom of the case had a hairline crack that had been poorly sealed up. I cleaned that up and resealed it to where it has stopped the oil leak. I ran it for about 5 minutes last night. Engine sounded smooth. I can hear an exhaust leak. I did notice the top end base gasket has oil spewing out, so I will have to pull the top end and inspect as well as replace that gasket. It needs a battery and the seat re-covered and then I think it will be a good ole work horse like all of those Hondas are!
I have to same one. I had some starting issues and when I hit it with a little starter fluid it started running with no more issues. I use to take it out on the trails before I only started using to plow snow. Now that the NE doesn’t get much snow anymore I want to get her back on some trails. Thanks for sharing. New sub to your channel.
I would recommend getting a good set of strikeable JIS screwdrivers. Watching you take the carb bowl off with a regular Phillips and an impact made me pucker lol those things are so easy to strip. I have a 42 year old CB650 without the proper bits I would have stripped every screw
well done.. an air box that looks like that speaks volumes as to the rest of the unit.. and a little starting fluid verifies a running engine, no need to waste time checking for spark and compression..
Very cool. I have the 98 trx400fw. Great machine. Extremely reliable & very tough. 👍👍 What brand box is that for the rear carrier ?? I'd say for $1200 you got a great deal overall
@@larrywalden626 it’s called super clean. It is a degreaser in a purple bottle. Great for most machines but don’t let it sit long especially on aluminum
@@Pickup_Projects cool. Thanks. I was thinking of using Napa aluminum toon brightner stuff on the motor just to get all the stained mud color off the cylinder cooling vents. I use the stuff on my pontoon. It works pretty well. I’ve wondered what it would do on the quad motor.
Hi. Is that the cleaner you used on the four wheeler and or the carburetor? I own a 94 Polaris 400L and used a jump box and it blew all of my lights on my machine! @@rayjrdibenedetto867 yes I use super clean on the machine and you can use it for a carb if you use it in an ultrasonic cleaner with water.
