Don’t go looking at replacement speedos for these unless you wanna have a heart attack. Good ones are hard to find and expensive. Even the boards to redo your own are expensive if you can find em. I work on them often and to get my hands on a working one was what I could pick up another whole atv with a broken speedo lol
Awesome job. Those Foreman’s run forever. Great machines
@@danjennings6817 They are awesome! I would really like to get a rubicon that has the auto transmission.
Have the 84. XR 200 RFVC same cond runs good hard to find.
@@user-vt9uh7pt4j yes they are. I thought about getting one if a nice one comes available.
Hey bud I just seen this video and I was checking what state are you in or before you tell me that let me know if you want to sell that red four wheeler I'm interested depends on where you live at let me know bud thanks
@joeclark9042 I live in South Carolina but I have already sold it unfortunately
@@Pickup_Projects ok thanks bud
Did you oil up air filter
Nice big yellow cup good bbq and free ice cream 😂
@@garciar1974 I love eating at Dickies lol! I haven’t been lately though since their prices went up.
Nice brother
@@High.Gear.Garage Just checked out your channel and it looks like we do similar work. I’m subscribed. Keep up the good work!
@@Pickup_Projects appreciate you checking out the channel! Gotta love the ole projects 👍 Same to you brother best of luck on your journey of CZcams
@High.Gear.Garage I appreciate it! Maybe we will cross paths in the future. Sounds like you are from the south like me.
I have a 2011 Honda foreman 500 will shift to neutral but soon as you drive it it won’t shift it displays two dashes stuck in gear shift it with the manual override and it goes back to neutral but head is stumped code 4 flashing for angle sensor so gonna try that don’t know if it’s a voltage thing or what
@@Martyvison the angle sensor is one of the first things to go. They are bad about getting water in them. I would start there if that’s the code you are getting.
That’s awesome I did the same thing with my 1999 foreman es looks nice 👍
Thank you!
I have a red one that I have just got fixed I just need to get some new handle bar accessories
@@trevorblade0409 what was wrong with it?
@@Pickup_ProjectsI got and aftermarket selanoid from a store near me and it shorted out and messed up my electric system but it is fixed now 8 just for to put the front plastic back on and get a new accelerator bc my other one was broken but It has out lasted every other fourwheeler on my property that wasn't a honda
Great video and nice obs ford truck
@@danielpadgett2831 thanks, I love that truck! I inherited it from a family member who bought it brand new in 1994.

shined up pretty well!
Thanks!
well done.. an air box that looks like that speaks volumes as to the rest of the unit.. and a little starting fluid verifies a running engine, no need to waste time checking for spark and compression..
@@TheCuttingtorch this quad was definitely maintained compared to some of the things I see! Didn’t take much at all.
Its like new for age what miles it done
@@andrewk6844 Only 1080
@@Pickup_Projects thats nothing I hae a suzuki lt500 4x4 with simular miles 2002 model and love it . The dealer here told me it the best of the suzuki s as the later one are not made in Japan and more things break
@@andrewk6844 I love those quads! I had a 2000 Suzuki Quadmaster 500 not long ago in mint condition
great job
Thanks for watching!
I would recommend getting a good set of strikeable JIS screwdrivers. Watching you take the carb bowl off with a regular Phillips and an impact made me pucker lol those things are so easy to strip. I have a 42 year old CB650 without the proper bits I would have stripped every screw
@@outerfroggy1 Yes, I definitely need to find some! I have stripped several screws in the past so I keep extras on hand.
That engine sounds really smooth
@@jimowens381 I was expecting it to need more work but it runs perfect. Good ownership and low miles go a long way!
Can I ask what you’re using for cleaner in your spray bottle? Thanks.
@@larrywalden626 it’s called super clean. It is a degreaser in a purple bottle. Great for most machines but don’t let it sit long especially on aluminum
@@Pickup_Projects cool. Thanks. I was thinking of using Napa aluminum toon brightner stuff on the motor just to get all the stained mud color off the cylinder cooling vents. I use the stuff on my pontoon. It works pretty well. I’ve wondered what it would do on the quad motor.
@@larrywalden626 not sure. I’ve never used it myself but I’m sure it would have similar effect.
Hi. Is that the cleaner you used on the four wheeler and or the carburetor? I own a 94 Polaris 400L and used a jump box and it blew all of my lights on my machine! Wish i would have just bought a new battery at that time but was going to set up some tree stands and of course pull cord broke as well! Took a while to replace them all and still need to figure out my AWD light? Thank you and have a good day
@@rayjrdibenedetto867 yes I use super clean on the machine and you can use it for a carb if you use it in an ultrasonic cleaner with water. Also, I’m not sure why your lights blew using a jump box unless there is something wrong with the box. People use a jump box all the time. Did you check to see if it has a fuse that blew on the machine?
How many hours/miles on it?
@@samson2968 the screen is hard to see but it only has 1080 miles
How much did you pay for it?
@@samson2968 $1200
Heck of a deal for 1200. Where do you find these in decent shape and complete for that price? On marketplace around me in Ohio/Indiana/Kentucky area they are beat up, plastic broke or missing just pure junk for that price.
@@larrywalden626 normally they aren’t in this good of shape but the area I live has a big market. Also the guy I purchased it from didn’t know much about them so he wanted it gone.
Loving your videos. I found you couple weeks ago and subscribed when I was hunting for video content rebuilding the top end of my 2006 Honda Rancher 350 I’ve owned 18 years.
@@larrywalden626 I appreciate your support! I may do a rebuild in the future if I come across a good deal!
Where do you youtubers find these deals like this? 400? I never find these deals that cheap around me like that and I look every single day.
It’s not common for me to find them that cheap but in this case the guy had it for $700 and I told him I would do $400 cash. He originally turned me down but finally took my offer a few hours later. It’s all in the negotiation.
What about the oil filter???
I decided to leave it for the time being because my local parts shop did not have one in stock at the time. I do recommend changing it most times though.
You should get a foam cannon and some degresser for leaning it up. Works great!
That’s actually not a bad idea. That would save me a lot of time!
you can buy a new screen or wet sand the screen so you can least see it just use wet sandpaper and polish it!!
Thanks for the tip. Those screens are bad about that!
It's great when the fix is just a broken wire. Free is the best type of fix. 👍
I couldn’t have said it better myself!
Had the same issue with mine, same year. Tried the whole shift program process and changed the gear position sensor, to no avail. Checked the fused power to the shift computer mounted above the right rear tire. Manual states it needs at least 10 volts to work, mine was getting only 6-6.5. I ran a new 14 gauge wire with a fuse holder and bypassed the original fuse under the seat, it shifts flawlessly now.
A lot of people would have probably overlooked that. Good job getting that figured out!
I think that seat looks great from what we can see in the video! The bike looks good period. It don't sound bad but maybe like it could use a vale adjustment or timing? I'm not a pro or around four wheelers a lot so??? It kind of sounded like it was struggling a bit. Nice video! Have fun and be safe!
A valve adjustment probably wouldn’t hurt! I assumed it was rich because the exhaust smelled like gas. I should have mentioned that somewhere in the video.
@@Pickup_Projects You did a nice job on your video. We all learn as we go and you had the courage to try something new so.... it's a win in my book! Like I said I'm no expert.
@@bradh74 I appreciate the support and feedback! Thanks for watching!
Great video. Wish you had this up 6 months ago lol. I just restored a 04 400at. Was outside for 10yrs. Had no motor flat tires seized breakes ripped seat broken dash. Was fun finding all the parts. I also needed a pull cord which i found on ebay. They are one off for that model. You'd think honda would've used the 350 pullcord assembly to save money.
Sounds like you had your work cut out for you! They are fun machines but not a ton of info out there on these specific models compared to the 350’s.
@@Pickup_Projects as long as you change oil regularly/clean air filter and keep the stock size tires they last forever. They are not a mud bike and they don't make the gear reduction for them.
I do recommend getting Japanese industrial standard impact bits and screw drivers for these Japanese bikes. Its saved me a lot of screws ive stripped in the past since i got them just because they bite those Phillips looking screws so much better.
Thanks, I didn’t know that. I’ll definitely look into it!
@@Pickup_Projects its something i just recently learned before tearing into my 2nd 83 big red. Its helped a lot with stuff i definitely stripped heads off of on the one i messed with.
pretty clean!
Appreciate it!
Yes correct neutral safety
U need to pull brake lever if Safety is still on it … Besides pull it screw electric start
I just like the convenience of electric start in case someone else ever rides it
They’re boggers not racers just have fun in deep water and mud they’ll whoop any 4x4 quad of today 💪
Got 7 of um it’ll fire rite up Don’t even. Change oil lol one of Mine was found burried in woods fired rite up lol And yes they are rare considering so comment prior is null lol welcome to the arc family man🤘

It's not really rare...
Your shot dude lmao
@@elitecystuning me? I have a collection of 3 wheelers. His is not rare... preaching to the quire
@@elitecystuning love haters...
The Big Red 200 was only produced 4 years and this was the first model that introduced reverse. Not the most rare item in the world, but definitely not something you see everyday in this condition.
@elitecystuning a 1987 honda big red 250 is rare.... lol sounds like ur shot and are clueless
Thanku for a very complete video...but can I ask if you can take your builds and see what the top speed is on them....like 2 vintage used to do! Thanks
Absolutely! I can start doing a top speed test. I love when 2 vintage did that as well. His content encouraged me to start my own channel.
Very very good for the first video.. I'm subscribed..thanks

Have you ever ran across any 1980 yamaha 425 bikes? I have one but you hardly ever see one on you tube..
If you are referring to the Yamaha IT model, I have seen them but never owned one. There are hard to come by. They are sweet 2 strokes!
I grew up riding that exact atv! It was a fun little machine. If I took the time to remove and clean the carb, I would broke the whole thing down and put in it the cleaner.... to include the carb body.
I think I would have pulled the needle valve while I was in there
I attempted to but the pin that holds the float in place was stuck for some reason. Have you ever run it I that?
considering that has the oem front tires on it still that thing may not have that many hours on it.
From what I can tell, it doesn’t seem like it has been used much at all!
@@Pickup_Projects thats an insanely good pickup for 400$
they changed to red plastic in 1985, hope you checked back diff oil and did you check reverse
I found the VIN prior to recording and it said 1987 when I looked it up. And yes, I checked everything else and it’s good to go. I appreciate your feedback! I will include that in future videos.
The stuff that came out of that gas tank looked like straight diarrhea
Looks and sounds good. Great job.
Thanks! These small quads are great little units.
that was a yummy carb i expect my 83 will be as bad or worse when i finally dig into it. its sat about 30 years non running. would love one of these shaft drive 84s
That was one of the dirtiest carbs I’ve seen. Hope you enjoy your 83 restoration!
If you take a torch on very low heat over those plastics they will look factory brand new again 🤘🏻
I torched the black plastics but the red plastic didn’t won’t to cooperate. I might have had it on too high.
You should put some oil down the cylinder before you kick it over, especially when it’s been sitting for years
As a 14 year old boy in 1985 this was my dream bike (I wasn't tall enough or experienced enough to ride a CR500). Honda's have always been my favorite brand of motorcycle. Glad to see one of my dream bikes coming back to life!
I wish they still made great bikes like these. They are hard to find in good condition anymore!
Great bikes my mate had a couple of these we used to hit trails on em in the late 80s /90s in the uk i remember the lil bag thing behind the seat quite reliable bikes if i remember too .
I love 80’s bikes. I wish I could have grew up during that time.
@Pickup_Projects it's crazy the amount of stuff I used to pick up back then I had bout 15 bikes in my front garden all ready to go id get my fuel can and go camping out places in the 80s my fave old bike was my yammaha 175 trial bike and my trusty trail cub both modded up long before it was fashionable lol I had a cr 125 too but it allways broke down and was a proper beater of a bike .
Hermosa 🤩
