    The real issue is NBA mascots make five times more than Caitlin Clark and her teammates. One NBA mascot makes 650K per year.

    • @sammy2840
      @sammy2840 Před 14 dny +3

      Mascot have a $25 Million shoe contract with Nike?

    • @dylanloveskellytaylor4774
      @dylanloveskellytaylor4774 Před 14 dny

      Yes but the revenue of the WNBA is only $60 million while the NBA revenue is $10 billion. Then you also have to consider that the WNBA is for only 4 months in which they play 40 games while the NBA season is about 6 months in which they play 82 games.
      In order for the WNBA to make just as much as the NBA they need to bring in the same revenue as the NBA because you also have to factor in the expenses because after that the WNBA actually is in the negative and is being subsidized by the NBA by about $10 million.
      Now that Caitlin is bringing in all this attention and bringing in more fans that is getting the people to buy tickets, cost of tickets to rise, merchandise sales to increase to the point that it’s selling out over time their pay can increase but until then they are actually being paid more then they are worth. Plus if you think about it CC is going to make her money in endorsements…she just signed a $20 million contract with Nike for crying out loud. Plus I don’t understand why we are complaining that WNBA players aren’t getting paid millions when the rest of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck…talk about priorities people.

    The apology in the column was terrible. He centered it around himself, didn't really address the specific comments that were offensive, and even though he noted that he offended her family, he didn't apologize to them either. Referring to her as "that" and "it" is inappropriate. Caitlin is a human being and shouldn't be compared to an object/car. The moment Caitlin said that the heart symbol is for her family, he should've stopped and moved on. Gregg Doyel saying t if she does it to him (the heart), then they'll get along fine is strange... so if Caitlin doesn't do the heart to him, will they not get along? Will he give her bad press and write bad things about her? A very strange comment.

    The heart hand gesture was award but I wouldn't consider it offensive, creepy and weird maybe but not offensive because as she says she does it to her family after very game. What is unacceptable is "you've just been given the keys to THAT, now what are you going to do with IT?" That is wrong on every level and he got off way o easy for those statements.
