The Dalai Lama has just announced that Olly Alexander is most welcome in Tibet after the ESC Final! He has been quoted as saying: "I took an interest in this poor kid from the UK. Everyone in Europe now says that he sings Flat and Off-Key, but Atonal music is very popular over here in our mountainous area's. We are willing to offer him refuge for Years and Years to come!" Olly's management has not yet responded, but it's safe to say that this is an opportunity he can't miss!

The issue that I have with Croatia on top in the odds, is that I think the juries won´t place it high enough for it to win. If I look at the songs there will be at least 6 songs above of him (purely from a jury point of view). We know how it ended last year with Finland. It didn't win because the juries almost all chose Loreen. Croatia need to at least be third with the juries and then win the televote to get it. How realistic is that?. There are also quite an amount of songs that can get some good points from the televote as well. Its so hard to guess this year XD

Eurovision, the U.K.’s annual opportunity to be as bitter, negative, miserable and unsupportive of our own act as possible, unless we actually do well and then of course everyone thinks they’re the best thing since sliced bread. No doubt if Graham wasn’t forced to be nice about our entries he’d be as rude as he is about other people’s. Why on Earth do we expect anyone to like us when we don’t even like ourselves? I love Olly, it’s great having him representing us, I just hope the BBC has hired extra switchboard operators to handle all the complaints from Mr Angry who didn’t actually watch the show but read it was a bit too gay and naughty in the Daily Mail.

My comment wasn’t specifically about Olly Alexander, it’s about the British attitude towards Eurovision as a whole, which is generally very poor every single year. On social media people will comment negatively about a show they don’t even watch. The most popular comments are “it’s rubbish, I haven’t watched for years”, “I thought we’d left the EU”, “Nil points” - although that’s generally spelled ‘pwah’. Personally I do think Olly has taken it a step too far in the staging and not considered the audience, my point was that Mr Angry will complain in the Daily Mail without ever having watched it. Anyway, a pointless discussion really, nobody wants to read or comprehend anything beyond 3 words these days.
