I just bought one after this review for cycling and running. Nice review!
I'm buying one to use specifically as an MP3 player for my workouts. I use the YMCA's Wi-Fi so surf around while waiting around.
I haven't yet found a real decent, CHEAP MP3 player. I currently use and old LG Tracfone w/3.5" display. It does pretty well for what I use it for (No phone activated) but it slow and real buggy due to a slow processor and old Android OS.
So I'm down sizing to this little dude that has 4.4 KitKat and a dual-core 1Ghz processor. Should work out very well for my needs. I'll know for sure once it gets here.
Katmandu2 I'm the same, I want to buy this as a micro Android based mp3 player. I want ro be able to run SoundCloud app and Google Play Music app on it and stream. I'm worried about the battery life though? I wonder if the preloaded apps can be uninstalled? It's a shame it's not Android Lollipop 5.x rather than Kit Kat.
Mine lasts about a day with internet radio playing over wifi.

You know this might not be very good at much due to its size, But if you could pop a micro SD card in there, you could have a great MP3 player if you're on the go or do a fair amount of walking or jogging. Much cheaper to replace than a ipod/iphone if it breaks or god forbid, stolen.

I think the Sony Ericsson X10 mini was about the same size as this though I think it had better specs. Also you had the X10 mini pro which had a PHYSICAL KEYBOARD. (I still miss my X10 mini pro purely because of its keyboard)
