From the professor's talk I am more convinced that KP was mentally pressured to jump before a car.
As I mentioned in my post on FB and in a whatsapp message, KP was forced to commit suicide by giving false information from his office. The last telephonic conversation recordings can reveal this.
These videos should reach Dallas police so that they close the case as early as possible and release the poor American driver.

1) Why did KP Punoose not file a case?
Why did KP Punoose file the case in the high court concerning Dr. KP Yohanan's accident and death?
We heard the voice clip of Mr. KP Punoose stated that he would be filing the case in the hig court. However, he did not proceed with the matter and left the public for a wild guess of some settlement.
After making the statement, someone who knows the road laws of the USA may have warned him about the outcome of the proceedings, which would be unpleasant.
In America, you hardly see anyone walking even by the side of the road. If someone walks, crossing the road is considered illegal except at a zebra crossing or a region close to a zebra crossing or at any intersection (junction). In some states, you can be fined $250 for jaywalking and road crossing.

In the present situation, the person who helped the driver contact the police stated that the victim jumped into the right lane. His statement was in English on a malayalam channel.
The driver's lawyer can argue and present it as intentional since the victim did not seem to be incapacitated because he was talking over the phone. In other words, the driver's lawyer would suggest it was a suicide attempt.
If the case was filed in court in India, the court would have requested US police to hand over their report and the outcome would have been unpleasant.
I feel this could be the reason why Mr KP Punoose was restrained from filing the case.
