Instead of blaming the refs, I'm gonna blame #33 for PNG. He ran those SOC boys off their feet. He was unstoppable.

The referees missed a few face mask calls and a couple of pass interference calls against South Oak Cliff. This kept Port Neches-Groves from scoring more touchdowns.
Wonder why? Maybe because they were wearing the same color gloves as Neches Groves jersey! SOC doesn’t have a lick of purple in their school colors!
The better team won! WAY TO GO PNG!!!!!!

I decided not to attend the games this year. BUT someone did post a still photo of the pi call…and it appeared to be a hold. Not sure about the offsides though.

@@reidreynolds7428 What excuses, it’s been like that since as far back as I can remember. The refs always make questionable calls in close games and as far back as the second round when the game was close they made calls to try derail SOC before they blew the game wide open.

What's WEIRD is that the team in white is wearing "PURPLE" towels... the opposing team's colors. I put that in the same category as guys bringing the color "PINK" into football and into the locker-rooms.

Very questionable calls for both sides. And some very questionable missed calls. But at the end of the day both teams played their hearts out. I think it came down to the passing game and SOC’s passing game wasn’t great. Towards the end they seemed to become complacent and lost the game for themselves so you can’t put all the blame completely on the officials.

some pretty bad calls made in the last minute or two that turned the tide of the game. actually, two questionable calls decided the outcome of this game.

It was a good call. Held him while he was getting out of his break. Could’ve been defensive holding rather than PI though.

@@templar1541probably not considering the ample amount of missed calls against SOC. I can see where people are coming from saying that the last two calls were questionable but they prob don’t have enough knowledge on the sport to recognize why the calls were made. Those refs have a tough job but I feel that they were unfair on both sides.

Watching this game from the east coast, North Carolina, and the 2 calls, PI & offsides were a joke! Don’t know who would’ve won, but those 2 calls clearly showed the fix was in & refs rigged it! Even on HS level! So blatant with miscalls, the PNG team should’ve been embarrassed to accept that trophy.

Embarrassed to receive trophy? That’s a wild statement. There was an offsides in the first half on SOC that wasn’t called on a sneak. There was also a PI where the DB didn’t even locate the ball, he just wrapped 28. The last PI was the right call. They didn’t show the DB holding 11 out of his break. It should’ve been holding if anything. It’s a long game too. SOC had plenty of chances.
The calls were both legit both Tepper and Stepp agreed after looking at the replays

Terrible called game and I'm not a fan of neither I just like Texas football. Bad calls made good position for the opposite team. That's what you got replay for, use it.
