Nafolchan I honestly think it's his personality. A lot of men sometimes never grow out of this immature state, and they stay with this child-like mindset throughout their lives. My uncle acts like him and he's 50, it's ridiculous but I think he'll just refuse to listen to his wife, probably none of what she said sunk in.
he is just playful type .. besides that doesn't give anyone the right to hate them .. i think he will release his mistakes no need to be rude
+Nafolchan if i were his wife i would try to take him to a pyschologist he seems like a good man and i am sure he is yet him acting like a little kid and not able to be srious or have a serious conversation is mainly because of his character which i believe turned out this way because of how he grew up that's why if only he seeks a profeesional help so the father he has a behaviour disorder it can be fixed it's just people don't really consider that option
last concern : Koreans seems to have a problem distinguishing when someone likes drinking once in a while or when someone an alcoholic. It seems that even when you drink everyday you're not considered an addict.
***** They obviously know that it's bad, but as you say it's their culture and after a while you start to understand or at least accept it. Sometimes i feel bad for their livers haha. (sorry for my english)

I watch this show religiously and it still bothers me that it only exposes the problems and there is never any solution or closure. Do special follow-up episodes, that'd be great
+kiyomi72 if you had watched this show religiously you would've known that they actually do follow-up on the past guests and how they are doing now after they had been guests on the show. they aired an episode highlighting that.

That girl at the end, is just an alcoholic. She might also be a bit depressed with all the family problems she might have and relies on alcohol. She really needs help. Sometimes this show doesn't really address how serious the problem is.... :/

+Mariela Perez being told someone is an alcoholic in South Korea has a VERY negative effect. They don't see alcohol as an addiction so for someone to be addicted to it means that there is something wrong with their head. They become shunned by those around them. If you watch the episode with Solbi she says something about how she got psychological help and that it really helped. Everyone just laughed at her.
cnd5629 Yea I know what you mean. :/ I lived in Korea for a few months. Its very sad to see this. I don't know if you remember a concern about this guy that would fall asleep anywhere and could not control it. They were blaming him and just told him to fix it. Like they never even mentioned if it could be a health problem or if he was sick. They're not very serious on this show. Sometimes its just for jokes and giggles. 😐

is no one gonna talk about the fact that the 8 year old girl is using really bad swear words? :( her father really shouldnt be saying those things, especially around children. she seems like she knows which words are inappropriate but still
If her father won't stop swearing in front of her at least she knows they are bad words instead of her being oblivious and using them recklessly. I think she's smart she won't say them for stupid reasons like her father.
actually it's settling that she knows that the words are inappropriate and she doesn't use them. It's sad though that she's exposed to this at q very young age.
When I was younger I wasn't aware of any swear words or any insults for that matter (other than 'fat' or 'big teeth') so when someone did swear at me for the first time, I had to ask my parents what it meant and I guess that was upsetting. It's okay to be aware of what words they are and to be taught not to use them recklessly

sometimes i don't like this show because the hosts never really say anything and push it. they don't even really get mad. they are so calm about situations like these. i mean i wouldn't cuss the man out but i would push why it is a bad idea and why he should stop. counselors do that. this is hello counselor. on some shows, yea they show an actual interest and say something and most they don't. they just be like "what do you want to say to your husband".
Ikr? Especially when the concerns are too serious and obvious. But then i think maybe the mc's have to stick to the cue cards strictly and are not allowed to do anything out of the show asks them to. In one of the epidsodes i remember when the celebrity got really angry and stated something like u shud either choose this or that and young-ja stopped him in the middle coz it was very direct and harsh. So maybe its out of their hands.
The hosts aren't actual, licensed counselors. It's a show with the premise of "counseling" people who have issues, but it should be obvious that just coming onto the show is not enough if it's a serious concern. Unfortunately, there is still a big stigma against seeking professional help in Asian countries and so for some, they'd rather come onto this TV show rather than reach out to actual professional counselors. When people come on the show, I think it's more of a "wake-up call" effect that the concerned people want, in order to shock their family members/friends/etc into realizing that they have a genuine problem. Hopefully afterwards they seek professional help but that's out of the show's, the hosts' and our hands.
+문지혜 I'm fully aware of all of this. I also wish people would go to professionals instead of T.V. However, if you wanna be host of a "counseling" , you should at least be of more help. The guests are sometimes more help than the hosts. They just ask a few questions and just say "Well what would you like to say to..." other than actually saying "Being like this isn't..." ; Yes sometimes this happens on the show, but it's rare. Nevertheless, people go on T.V. hoping embarrassment from the world would help.
basic voices I'm guessing you don't really know the reputation of these hosts? IMO, they aren't hosts of this show because they WANT to. They were hired because they're famous, successful and charismatic MCs. If the producer wanted people who could be "of more help", they could've hired other people. But the point of having this group of MCs is that they know how to keep the show lighthearted even when it sometimes deals with serious issues. The show isn't even MEANT to be a serious counseling show, so obviously they didn't need to hire MCs that would make the show serious.
Honestly, if you get so sensitive over this matter, just don't watch the show.

And also, I love this show, but like every othet show, it has faults. So what's so bad about stating them? And if I got so sensitive over a T.V., omg...I don't know how I would ever live in this world. Smh. And obviously I know they didn't want to be on here, but even so, they can't try to help? There's a few celebrities who've been asked to be on the show and they helped more than them. Trust me, I understand the concept of this show. I understand they aren't really counselors. I understand they don't have to truly care enough to help. Reality T.V. isn't rocket science.

Guess I'm the only one who didn't think much of the dad cussing. Yes, he should greatly reduce it because it seems to influence the daughters..but
1. I personally grew up with parents who cursed about many things, happy or sad, and it never made me think anything of it, I knew not to say those words and when my parents said them I thought it was funny.
2. He seemed as though he really didn't know the impact. Sometimes when you don't know how to get through to people you do unnecessary things, and since the daughter was told times before not to do things he didn't know what else to do (not an excuse but I understand the thought process.
All that being said parents need to take into consideration the characteristics of their child. My personality made me not hurt when my parents cursed, however this child (as well as a few other people in this comment section) have different sentiments and different things that they can't respond well to. All in all, it definitely wasn't the biggest concern for the show and I just hope the dad keeps his word and tries harder to stop cursing

I didn't find the second concern funny at all, it baffled me to see all these people laughing whenever they talked about the father swearing, and I found it pathetic he tried to defend himself with 'it was passed down a generation'. My dad always swore at me for even the littlest things and no matter how small the reason was it always made me feel terrible and I grew up hating him and hiding every bit of my personality from him since I was scared he would swear at me. I started to cry when the girl acted cute as well, like I find it unfair that she's still close with her father after he treated her like that and here I am barely talking to mine. Anyways, I feel like they could have been more serious about that concern.

My father is the same, always swearing and getting mad about little things. I also learn not to tell him anything, even when I'm sick. Honestly I even avoid looking at him because I'm afraid he going to start swearing again. Fortunately my dad has other redeeming qualities and being away from home had made me understand my parent perspective more. However I get very nervous and have mini mental breakdown whenever someone raise their voice. It kind of make me a doormat because I'm very nervous about making other people mad. I'm glad the little girl brought this here. I'm sure the dad isn't a bad person and being hard on him is not going make him change because it just ignite his defense mechanism. I think the hosts handle it well and the father walk away with a lesson for the heart.
I'm sorry that you're still hurt by your father's actions. But every kid has different coping mechanism and attitude towards the sometimes painful things adults do to them. The older sister handled it a little better and maybe that's why the girl is trying to be positive about it.
My grandfather used to curse so much around us as children and I didn't really care much. My dad however was always uncomfortable when my grandfather did that.

I think that the woman in the last concern is suffering from loneliness since her dad callopsed she feels as though she can't pursure her dreams and the only way to have communication with the outside world is through alcohol which shouldn't be the case. The best way to approach it in my opinion is to slowly get her away from drinking and find hobbies she likes where she can interact with people and get that same waem feeling without the memory loss and bruises. Maybe she could even get a pet so that she has something to come home to and talk to and focus on her dream of working in hair and make up.
The major problem is that due to South Korea 's culture in drinking they can't see its alcoholism and that she's addicted, which really harms their public.
Come here for Jin Young but found that so less screen time... arhhh...

The first and second concern's got me like, "Asdfghjkl." like seriously.
For the first one, I don't know why the guy thinks he has to pull of crazy and reckless antics just to "appeal" to his wife and baby. He is 40, not 4 years old. Geez. If she doesn't love him, she wouldn't have married him and even carry his baby. Jumping off a 3 meter haystack. Turning off the lights while driving on a freaking cliff. Seriously? Insane, I tell you. Insane. Damn. Sorry if this offends some of you but if I were her, I'd leave him. I'd hire a lawyer and just sign those divorce papers. I wouldn't want to surround myself and my baby with a person who doesn't give a shit about other people's safety. Guardian angel, my butt.
As for the second concern, I feel like giving a tight, tight slap on that father's face. I don't care if you're all emotional or whatsoever but one must never swear or use cuss words in front of a kid. What the heck is that man thinking? I have a 6 and 12 year old cousin whose dad (my uncle) swears quite often. My older cousins and I couldn't care much since we're old enough but sometimes I wonder how it affected his kids. Turns out, my cousins picked up his habit. Whenever I meet them, they're always swearing at the tiniest thing, whether it be a missing remote control or broken toy. Frankly, it scares the shit out of me. I curse, I'll admit. But seeing my two younger (young kids, may I remind) cousins swearing as if it's the most normal thing in the world gives me goosebumps. Most people don't realize but these little things can affect a kid's personality, may it be like Seongyeong or my two cousins.
