Danny Smith then the gravel becomes a defacto drain and the same can happen with it as you say right?

Looks great to me, but what I have seen so far are great solutions for relatively small lots. Will those systems work on a relatively large property - talking about more than an acre? And even more important - are they able to cope with a significantly large amount of storm water?
We live on a slope and didn't have much problems with rain water until recently. Most of neighbors' runoff water and our own storm water from occasional rains (even from strong ones) used to flow down the hill into the road ditches naturally. But recent dramatic change in weather (4-6 inches of rain like every other day for months, soil is saturated, never been dry for more than a year) made it necessary to look for a way to intercept and redirect neighbors' runoff water before it hits the house. The amount of water needed to be 'caught' and rerouted looks significant to me - it's coming from at least 10, more likely 20, acres of land up the hill.
If you could recommend where to look for a solution - it would be great. And anyway - thank you for reading all this :)

Hi Kate! We have a variety of solutions for large areas of stormwater runoff. I think it would be best for me to connect you with Dr. Drainage, our in-house Civil Engineer, Ryan Larsen. His email is DrDrainage@ndspro.com Please send him any images you have and a description of your problem and he'll help diagnose it and provide the best solution. Thanks!

I'm calling BS on flow wells and dry wells. They don't work. Just run it to the street, or fight with it forever.
