Late Night with Seth Meyers
/ latenightseth
As much as watching Corrections makes me laugh, seeing Seth so genuinely happy/amused, that he can’t stop laughing, makes me happier than anything else on TV.
Me too! I love Seth's relaxed style with imperfections and how he seems to genuinely enjoy doing a closer look, monologue and corrections, and how he's often cracking up laughing!
Yes indeed!
agreed - tis the best bit
It’s not on tv, it’s on the CZcamss 🤣
Such a dad joke
My 8 year old son is obsessed with all things geography. He asked me to help him with an online quiz on the 50 US state flags. I said ok, but I’m not going to know a single one (we are not from the US), but then I did know one! Exactly one in fact - the “I’m-too-busy” state flag of Maryland! Don’t let anyone ever tell you Corrections isn’t making a real difference in people’s lives Seth and company!
🐾
😂 beautiful
And I wrote this comment even before watching this episode of Corrections and seeing the tattoo! 😂😂
I think it's so strange that someone in another country has to be tested on state flags! I don't recall ever seeing a quiz on the state flags here
@@LindaC616 They said their child is obsessed. Figure they opted to take an online quiz themselves, and were not given homework on it. You will no doubt find a quiz on it on jetpunk.
@@lillijana9259 Then that was pure bonus! Noice!!
That "Peanuts" joke was the perfect dad joke! I groaned, then laughed (just a bit), then enjoyed watching Seth look so pleased with his horrible joke. Bravo!
I think Seth realized he forgot to say the holiday movie bit with shoemaker before the joke. ... then he went back and said it.
I said out loud YOU MOTHERFUCKER! Which yes, it's totally the way to respond to a dad
Ugh it was so dumb 🤣
I loved it... and the fact he went around the block twice to get there made it sweeter. :)
“Just because a doctor makes a mistake doesn’t mean you’re the doctor”. YES. There’s a whole book about this, The Death Of Expertise by Tom Nichols.
*EXCELLENT BOOK* - ngl, only read 25% & not sure where I put it lolol.
It truly is an important read. Should probably find it 😜
I love that Corrections has plot-lines for us loyal viewers 🤪
And character arcs!
Holy Sh!t you're right! It does! LOL
Corrections Feature Film time
@@Gooselaser I don't think there's enough of seth left at this point.
@@Gooselaser and then a Corrections Cinematic Universe!
The fact that someone would take the time to complain about Corrections is absolutely hilarious.
But if we all did it we could end up with a whole new segment??? Corrections Complaints??? 😉
Dense, Dense, Comedy
The sheer meta of correcting Corrections is what I live for
Food for the Jackal soul.
Without complaints, there would be no Corrections. The two are intimately intertwined, but ultimately Corrections feeds off these interactions and complaints. It's a crowdsourced, meta comedy that evolves in real-time and is snapshot on the show. It's one of my favorite things because it
is so groundbreaking, there is no "formula".
"Don't you have a game tonight?" KILLED ME...terrific low-key shot at Kyrie
I love the wide-eyed, childlike maniacal look Seth gives the crew before he says something outlandish
Honestly, this is kind of a comedy masterclass. The call backs, the timing, the subversion, and the atmosphere are perfect
I couldn't agree more!
It is comedy genius on every level.
Ironically, we have Covid-19 to "thank" for it. I'm *certain* that, were it not for Covid, there would be no Corrections.
(or the more laid-back, suit-less, Seth)
@@idlesurfer214 yes!
It's a one-person Arrested Development
The "allergic to Peanuts" line was so unexpected, and one of the funniest jokes I've heard in ages. Top marks to whichever writer came up with that.
Best that I'm not in the audience for jokes like that, honestly. I find them funny, but sometimes my reaction is less along the lines of laughter and more along the lines of shouting 'Motherfucker!'
I audibly groaned, lol. Like, it was bad but in a good way, if that makes sense. A terrible dad joke you absolutely hate, but respect the person delivering it because they said it with no hesitation and no shame.
It was a bad joke. That's why it was funny.
It caught me so off guard and really took me a second! But I loved it.
Such a long walk for such a duuuumb joke... I loved it.
I don't know who came up with CORRECTIONS, but it's oddly brilliant. I just discovered it and find myself going back to old corrections when I want more. This humor is some strange amalgamation of like, wordplay and timing and Seth being Seth. It's wholesome.
Seth came up with Corrections during the pandemic!
the best thing about corrections is that it just builds & builds and so gets better & better each week!
Oddly brilliant is probably the best two-word description I've heard in ages. NICE!!
Welcome aboard!
I look forward to you finding the knitting/crotchet saga!! So good!! My recommendation would be to watch from the start. Corrections is a gift that just keeps on giving
The furniture joke was almost to the level of Jack Benny or Johnny Carson…you know the punch line, but you sit through the pause and laugh your head off when it gets delivered. Loved this episode.
I just wanna say… this year this segment needs to win an Emmy
Disagree! If Seth and Corrections team actually won, I think they could become complacent and possibly intolerable!?!? The desperation of trying to win gives them a certain hunger and an "edge". I'd love to be able to vote, and if I could I would vote Carpool Karaoke just to keep Corrections where it is! Frustrated and desperate!! (but admittedly very funny!) 😉🤣
Ah, would that it were. Emmys are for televised productions.
Sadly, Corrections is strictly online.
Oh, you mean the John Oliver Award? (;
How to act blue: Hire the most violent long gun open carry people you can find to burn, loot, and kill;
hire chynah trollfarms to lie about Republicans, and insult working America 100 times per minute on social media;
ignore the terror Texas towns and ranchers are living, while being OUTRAGED if a cop shoots back at a criminal;
then lean back with your Birkenstocks up, have a toke, smile innocently, and say, "Let's be kind to one another."
@@kinsmed was actually nominated this year - lost to carpool karaoke 🤬😢 edit - nominated this year AND last year
Seth blessed us with a 21 minute Corrections. Happy early Christmas to the jackals!
MERRY HOLIDAYS! ^-^
As a Computer programmer I love callbacks, and that Maryland Flag Tattoo is such a nested callback, shows why you have to watch Corrections every week. I love LNSM. He is my closing Act
I LOVE hearing Amber laughing in the background. Love them all, but her laugh is special.
💯
Yes it is. The world is better when she laughs.
You actually can get real-time communication between the US and Australia, so any sound issues would mostly come down to reaction time. It's just that the pillows fall the other way because different hemisphere.
😆 🤣 😂
Can confirm. I'm Australian and our pillows always fall upwards.
@@LobbyDaLobster As a kiwi can confirm our pillows float into space through the small hole in the ozone that still exists
you know it's very rude to be funnier than seth on his own show
Lmao!!😆😅😄
Love the fact most of the jokes are for the crew and we're just laughing at how much theyre all laughing their asses off
The best thing to come out of the pandemic is, at some point, Seth decided that he and the staff were going to have fun making the show. He didn't care if the audience (none at the time), viewers, or network liked the product, or if it resulted in cancellation.
Oh, so that's what we're doing....thanks. Glad you are authorized to speak for all of us.
@@chonqmonk Well, if your level of snark equals your level of ignorance, it's best that someone speaks for you. You should adhere to the old adage: it's better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than speak and remove all doubt. Merry Christmas.
I agree - much the same as musicians playing to/for each other as much as audience that happens to be @ the venue.
Glad I'm not the only one picking up on this.
We need an update on the progress of Seth's work on Cicada-Cicada. We all tune in every week, eager for a drop of info on the musical, but it's been months since even a mention.
Exactly! I keep hoping for an update every week! Maybe if we send in the "waldo" picture, we can get free tickets! :)
Can we talk about how great the low-key humor is in all these corrections. They're like a master class in things that make other comedians laugh. Oh and that Peanuts gag had me rolling.
Apparently in the French revolutions they would protect themselves by wearing pieces of furniture, most often creating a suit of armoire... I'll get my coat... from my French wardrobe!
Go away through your French doors...
The furniture joke was perfect. I loved and hated every moment before the punch line because I knew exactly what it was gonna be.
Such sweet torture...
It's funniture!
... I'll see myself out.
That "allergic to Peanuts" punchline was a looooong walk and the laughter at the destination was worth it
I was going to get the same tattoo at 9:07 last weekend, but when I sent a text to my tattoo guy to schedule it, he replied "Too busy."
Seth is about to be Pavlov'd into dropping a pillow whenever he hears a crash
And we are HERE for it!
Like the plane crash he was in that he caused by using electronics on board?
During one of this week's monologues, one of Seth's jokes referenced "Corrections"
It felt like being "in" on an inside joke or like getting a personal shout out
Yes! And he seemed to be looking at the audience to find any Jackals who might be there. There didn't seem to be any Jackals that day.
I love when Seth tells the dumbest joke with the biggest grin imaginable. Just so damn pleased with himself.
"Allergic to peanuts"
Even better when it leads to him having uncontrollable giggles
I love Corrections. Seth has created (or maybe just renewed) a unique place on the comedic stage.
It was a long walk for that peanut line. 🤣
That's why the -stewardess- flight attendant had to run.
Nothing makes me happier than a 21+ minute long Corrections. Well, maybe Seth breaking character and genuinely giggling makes me happier :)
"Peanuts"... "Ottoman.."
when Seth starts laughing uncontrollably at his own dad jokes, you know he's fully embraced the Dad Joke stage of his life.
I watch these just hear the writers and crew laugh at their jokes. It is great
They're all seth's jokes, btw. They don't rehearse this show, the crew is seeing this for the first time like us
That 90 second buildup about a Charlie Brown Christmas was fantastic
The Peanuts joke was such a long meandering walk that I honestly did not see coming, and when it landed, I laughed so hard.
This is my favorite corrections so far, which is probably the 4th or 5th time I've said it. The quality and delivery has just gotten so good.
If they callback to Seth's tank top photo, and each time he's more swol, I will be extremely happy. By February, he should be an Avengers-level threat.
When you said that your sound guy was in Australia, that joke actually works because you would have a very slight internet delay due to the distance. The timing disparity would actually be pretty close in that case, so the initial joke was fine. That being said I did enjoy your most recent attempts at getting the pillow sound correct.
I genuinely thought that the internet delaywas the joke. Now I just feel very confused and like a nerd.
@Dasi The Internet delay _was_ the joke. Unfortunately the joke doesn't work anymore because it's no longer 1995: the Internet latency between New York City and, say, Perth, is less than 10 milliseconds, faster than you can release a mouse button after pressing it when clicking
@@icantollie When I lived in Australia in the 2010s there still was a massive delay with some aspects of the internet. That's why I was confused.
@@OliveDasi Yeah, you’re right; speed of light through optical fiber is roughly 31% slower than the speed of light in vacuum, or approximately 128535 miles per second; divide that by the air-line distance between, say, Silicon Valley and Perth (say, 9184 miles) and you’d get a theoretical round-trip latency of approximately 1/7 of a second if there were like a direct fiber optic link between San Jose and Perth. (Obviously real-life latencies would be higher due to packet routing, network congestion, and server response times, especially during peak Internet traffic hours.) Add to that that the typical reaction time for a human between seeing something on screen and clicking a mouse is between 1/5 to 1/4 of a second, and the fastest that a sound effects guy in New Zealand (or Australia) could play the pillow-anvil sound effect after seeing Seth drop it on video would be around 1/3 of a second
The 2000 year old Santa was truely laugh out loud material!
I was expecting it to look more like Mel Brooks.
I'm a huge fan of when Seth gets all giggly and puts his head in his hands! Great show
Please never stop doing these. They are the best part of my week
I'm so happy with the Ottoman joke, I was watching and going, "It's gonna be Ottoman, it has to be", and I loved the punchline even more with Seth's reaction
The pace of Corrections per Minute was blistering in this one, High CPM with a 20 minute ep is an early Xmas gift, thanks!!!!
I went to Australia to see next weeks’ Corrections, its glorious.
2 things:
1. I feel like we're all a part of this inside joke that's been going on this whole time. I can't imagine someone watching this without starting them in sequential order.
2. The playlist on shuffle is how I fall asleep every night with my headphones. I feel like the crew's reactions are heard via binaural mics because it sounds like you're right there.
Keep on jackalin'
Both points - same!
Jackal love 💘!
Oh, Les Mis was actually the *June* Rebellion of 1832. It's only really remembered because Victor Hugo happened to be there to see it. The July Revolution was in 1830 when the people deposed King Charles X, and replaced him with Louis Philippe. That's the event depicted in the painting Liberty Leading the People.
But I'm thrilled to see recognition for the hard-working Parisians' uprisings!
The other day I got a recommendation for a Corrections video that one of the Jackals lovingly edited every one of Seth's impressions together over 3 videos. It was great to see the older Corrections again, mixed into the current ones - it made it that much funnier because I knew what was coming. SO much comedy gold in this segment, it deserves an Emmy this year!
I gotta see that, but I couldn't find it, who did it?
@@Kotapises I'll look and if I can find the link I'll post it here for you

Thank you! I watched all three compilations and they were fantastic 😍! I really hope Seth (or someone close to him) sees them, too!
@@corriec1216 Wasn't it so good?? The only impression I wish was in there was his Eric Trump impression, he never does it anymore either
Love this segment, please never stop! Also am I the only one mesmerized by the way the pattern on Seth's shirt and shirt pockets lines up so well?? It's like camouflage!
As someone who is a bit mobility impaired, I appreciate Corrections as it seems more intimate, or at least conversational. Less of a big show. Love it.
Just gets funnier and funnier week after week. PURE GOLD!
This entire correction episode was laugh out loud funny from start to finish…literally! From Japan has lawns to peanut allergies to the Christmas party hold up! Thanks for the laughs Seth 😂
(And yes…Tracey Ullman said Go Home!)
...and Ferris Beuller.
And Animal, and the end of the original Muppet Movie.
It was Tracey Ullman? I thought it was the Ottoman Empire 😂
@@sandybarnes887 good one!😂
Corrections is a brilliant concept and should have won an Emmy! It's so up close and personal, you feel like you're part of a big family and that idiot who thinks the laughter is canned has never watched Corrections and doesn't understand the affectionate relationship that Seth (and through him we jackals) has with his writers and crew, you can't fake that!
I absolutely loved today's Corrections! 6 minutes into it, I was worried how much remained and when I saw over 15 minutes, I felt overwhelming relieved that there were still SO MANY minutes of unknown wonders ahead ... THANK-YOU! #Jackal4Ever
I'm always amazed by the comments by people who clearly don't get Corrections. I'm sorry, this show is golden, how are you not seeing that?
Yes, and if they don't enjoy it, they should just stay away!
Fellow Jackal, shake off those who don’t appreciate Corrections 🐾🐾
It is their loss!
I know. Why bother commenting? Just move along.
The sound guy keeping Seth on his toes haha 😂
That Peanuts joke... Omg you are what all dad's aspire to be when it comes to puns
This Corrections didn't mention me enough!
"allergic to Peanuts". That is the daddest of dad jokes! I salute you, as a fellow dad.
Fun fact: in the UK, "Where's Waldo" is "Where's Wally". So, I totally found him.
That's odd and interesting, thanks for sharing Jeremiah
He's holding the cue cards 🤣🤣🇦🇺
But he was on the wrong side of the page.
Oh thank god for this upload. Was really having a bad nighttime spiral (yay insomnia). Needed a good laugh!
I totally get your pain.
Yay insomnia
Team Insomnia, Assemble!
I hope you were able to get some rest!
This segment is one of the very few things that can make me genuinely laugh out loud, snort roll my eyes or groan at the dad joke levels.
Please don't ever take Corrections away from us!
Love the whole team for doing this!
Being part of this show is such a good feeling. Thank you Seth and team and fellow Jackals.
Can’t believe you did the whole flat moon bit without Mac Tonight.
I will never get tired of these episodes. please never stop doing them
I love seeing Seth have fun on Corrections 😂
The pillow\sound effects *is sheer bloody genius!*
He could have continued for another hour till the Christmas party and i would have watched it! This is the best segment! Seth is so funny!
The frantic pillow drop made me laugh way more than it should have. I am not a religious person but I watch Corrections religiously.
You went so far for that Peanuts joke, and it was 100% worth it.
I hope that I can remember this quote for when I need it, “Just bc a doctor makes a mistake doesn’t mean you’re the doctor now.”
That long, slow Peanuts windup was golden.
20 minutes of corrections made my day! Loved the pillow dropping gag.
Just a note: the german is "drei gläser": "drei" with a vowel sound like "try" rather than "tree", and "gläser" sounding something like "glay-zuh".
("und sechs jalapeño poppers" but I think that part was chaos that should be allowed to continue)
And the vowels in French are not easy, so to differentiate with "poisson", make sure you say the n at the end of "personnes" (it's a feminine word): "pair-sun"
Yes, I wanted to make the same observation on the plural of Glas (glass) being Gläser, but have to add that Glasen is an old-timey nautical time unit, so that 'drei Glasen' actually means 1.5 hours.
I think he was speaking Dutch, which he speaks a little from his time in Amsterdam. Maybe he thought it was the same in German?
I love you language nerds.
LoL that’s definitely not fake laughter 😂😂 that’s what I love the most about this show is all the crew laughing-!!
A correction: When saying, "poissons" and, "personnes," Seth often places the stress on the first syllables of the words. In French, stress is placed on the final syllable of each word. It makes him sound as if he's trying to do Christopher Walken speaking French, which is strange because Seth is the rare comedian who seems unable to do a "Christopher Walken".
Also, it should be “les gens” or “des gens”
The perfect way to end the night after sitting 6 hours in the ER (for my dad)! Glad we're home and good (for now).
Edit: A correction! Flight Attendant is the proper term, not stewardess, since any gendered person can be a flight attendant.
♥️
We're glad you're home too! Hope everything got corrected.
@@chezmoi42 it was for my dad - he'll have to see doctors tomorrow BUT he didn't have to spend the night sitting in the ER waiting for a bed!
Glad you’re home from the emergency vet, fellow Jackal. Hope all is well.
Hang in there! 🤞
As an Australian, I shall continue dropping the "pillow" sound effect :)
Thank you!
I started watching you a few weeks before Pandemic hit, and you're the only channel I still watch regularly. Never stop :)
“I guess cause Facui never just like, wandered off” made me laugh so hard
oof a 21 min corrections ep??? what a fucking treat, thanks Seth!!
The most furniture stacked in an armed conflict was actually during the Viking conquests, in the Battle of Ikea.
Where the weapon of choice was the Allen key.
Aren't Vikings Norwegian and IKEA is from Sweden?
@@lynnhettrick7588 - IKEA is Swedish-Dutch, and Vikings were Norsemen, whose modern descendants are Scandinavians, which includes the Swedes.
@@lynnhettrick7588 I don't think contemporary borders were in place in Viking times. But Ikea probably was.

Even funnier than usual! Thank you for the laughs. P.S. 3 in German is pronounced 'dry', sigh😂
And it has to be said like you hate speaking with a passion “drei!”

Also, the plural would be "Gläser". 😄
What is "jalapeño poppers" in German?
Note that Seth's faulty German is spot-on as the correct Dutch pronunciation. Must be from his stint here in the 90's.
The PlayStation 3 is pronounced 'dry' in German?
You learn a new thing every day
My difficult year was made better by You and your Team. Thank You.
Seth’s stuff almost never gets old, no matter how many times you watch it.
Love you, Seth 💕
Got the loads of comments - one on each episode to prove it.
As a Marylander, I appreciate Seth digging even deeper on the flag joke.
Shoemaker is actually correct with regards to the Grinch. An enlarged heart is a very serious medical condition.
I assumed the Australian lag was due to the FX coming over FaceTime or zoom or something, like on news interviews where there’s a lag between questions and answers. That would make the delayed FX make sense. It didn’t occur to me that he meant a time zone difference.
The first pillow drop was painful, the second one was absolutely hilarious 😂😂😂
Ooooh, Seth trying time hold back his laughter is cute, it makes one laugh even harder.
What beautiful excitement it is to wake up on the East Coast of the US, on a Friday morning and be gifted a 20-plus correction segment! #AlrightMaybeWeDontNeedToReplaceMeyersWithSambergQuiteYet
Gonna need Seth to work in Lindell saying "Johnny Bananas" at least once a week until the end of time. 🤣🤣🤣
"Just because a doctor makes a mistake, doesn't mean YOU'RE the doctor now."
That needs to be merch!!!
Could you imagine this being the first Corrections you ever watched. 😂
A Charlie Brown Christmas isn’t a movie, it’s a special.
He meant the Jim Carrey version.
Correct: A TV special. I was going to say 'Seth can confirm that by the fact that the Everything Wrong With is not on Cinema Sins but is instead on TVSins.' But then I realized that TVSins hasn't done the Christmas special. So, here is to hoping that the CinemaSins/TVSins guys are jackals and will do the Christmas special episode as a way to publicly shame Seth.
I love Corrections!!!!
Why wasn’t this one chosen as the best episode of corrections?!? This is amazing!! Going back through them and this one is fantastic
This is my favorite episode of Corrections so far.
I love how Seth couldn’t finish the Ottoman Empire joke because he was going to laugh, so he blamed it on the crew, but then tried it and still couldn’t make it through the punchline.
Hey Seth.... for what it's worth... I really enjoy the way you're mind works... I think you are Brilliant... thanks 🙏... from a fan with a very quirky mind 😁

Can’t decide if I like Seth’s crack ups best or when he talks like he’s from graphics 😂❤
When I saw the flag callback tattoo on those hilarious photoshopped arms I got worried that this is the last Corrections in a while since this much fun is surely our Christmas present.
The tattoo was great! lol
