Hashtag United are a one-of-a-kind football and esports club, based in Essex, England. Formed in 2016 by Spencer Owen as a group of mates playing exhibition games, we now play in the 8th tier of English football, the Isthmian League North. We won our league in our first season in non-league football and were looking good for a second promotion when the 2019/20 season was voided, but after the 2020/21 season went the same way with us top of the Essex Senior League, we were eventually awarded promotion based on PPG over the two part seasons. We merged with AFC Basildon Women in summer 2020 and formed our women's team, Hashtag United FC Women, who play in the 4th tier of women's football, the FA Women's National League Division 1 South East. We also now have 40+ youth teams, reserve and development teams...and not forgetting our esports team who play FIFA at the world's highest level. I am super worried about how many of these players might be snapped up by clubs in higher divisions, surely players like Pedro, Toby, Jermaine etc could play step 1-3 non league? In fact, most of this team could thinking about it! Keep hold of them!
Players who are defo gunna leave I think are Jermaine and Matty there get snapped up by a higher league club or who has more money
step 3 is where we start to see most players on actual contracts so itll be interesting to see what happens with the current squad
If players leave for higher leagues - and some may - this shows our model works. We want our players to go on to bigger things!

Scunthorpe were in the championship in 2011 and played against teams such as Leicester who won the Premier League a few years later so there is a link between hashtag and premier League winners.

So 3 years ago I became an Uncle to my sister's little girl and have been given the job of her first football kit and can hands down say I'll be choosing Hashtag, I've watched since the very first game. Through the comedians, staff teams, brands you've beaten, playing in America to breaking trophies to shaky starts and now to a 99% secure convincing league title it's a very emotional time. People may think it's just a youtube team, but this so called "youtube team" have put their stamp on non league football and I've been here all the way. Whenever I feel sad or down there's always a game pop up, it's like Stampy knows. Thank you for the memories and hopefully when my niece gets old enough to understand the beautiful game, we'll come down and see it for real!
