    Hey guys, greetings from the UK, great first video - well done, your review is pretty much spot on as I own and drive a late 2017 370Z Nismo in Pearl White. It's mildly modified with an ECUtek remap and Cobra high flow cats and £ for £, or $ for $, it really is difficult to beat for value and pure driving enjoyment. Plus, they're fairly rare in the UK and attract a lot of attention at shows and meets etc. Keep up the good work!

    Hey, bub. If you like manual, good for you. Some would rather auto with the sport package and paddle shifters. Oh yeah, the GTR only comes in auto. Are you going to rag on the GTR too? Having a manual car doesn't mean you necessarily have the best version.

    • @rideintel9960
      @rideintel9960  Před rokem +1

      Hey, bub! The GTR is a 545HP supercar with all wheel drive, so it makes sense for it to have a dual clutch auto transmission. However, the auto trans in the 370Z leaves a lot to be desired as it doesn't shift nearly as quick as a dual clutch and can't hold very much power; it breaks with a mere 400 ft-lbs of torque, so you can't really have a twin turbo set up without rebuilding the trans, (which is very expensive to do), and even then...Many Z owners with the auto trans still have issues when running set ups with over 500HP. That being said, most people who buy a Z plan to mod their car and having an auto trans will make your car quite unreliable with turbos or even a supercharger. A 370Z with a manual can easily hold 600HP without fail. Let's also not forget how the 370z offers automatic rev matching with their manual transmission which enhances the driving experience even further, and that is the reason many will buy a Z in the first place. Also, even in the sport or Nismo models that have shift paddles, the auto trans still won't let you choose what gear you're in at times, and can be very frustrating on a race track or when driving at the limit. 🤙

    You need a polarizing filter for the outside shots; and image stabilization on the basically everything or you can stabilize in post later on... - The best 370z is the one in the middle that has the "sport package" - you get nearly everything as the Nismo, just not the body kit, and the seats. If you can find a deal on one of those, you get the larger and arguably better looking wheels (Look at the 2013-2015 specifically); you get the same rear differential (which still sucks, that's why on hte 2023 they went to a real / actual true mechanical locking rear diff, as the vlsd is still trash, but, just slightly "better" trash compared to the "base model") and you get the larger brakes, along with some minor aero upgrades (small rear wing) and front lower lip (which will likely be banged up used) The 2016's are nice as they went to the blacked out headlights but I believe (meaning: I could be wrong!) they gave you the nicer headlights but then went to stupid looking wheels on ALL of the models. And dont' get me started on the S show of the 2023 wheels...barf.
    Nice First video... just needs some polish, and some of the sound / levels need to be worked on (normalized) as you have some dialog thats' louder in spots...

    • @rideintel9960
      @rideintel9960  Před rokem +6

      We believe the Nismo is a better value. If you try and purchase all the Nismo suspension components, (the Nismo recaro seats, the lower final drive gears, an upgraded intake plenum with a new tune), the trick body pieces: (nismo front and rear bumpers with the sideskirts), plus the rear lip, and the Nismo tuned exhaust... you're looking at way more than the extra $10K you would have spent when buying this off the lot. This doesn't even include the rays wheels which you said you don't care for, the upgraded Bridgestone Potenza tires, or the labor to install All of the above mentioned parts. I'd say there was a built in savings of about $15-20K when buying this new at the dealer; (when you could have), and I made this video specifically because every other review said the sport package was the best value, but if you sit down and do the math, the Nismo wins every single time. Im definitely looking into some polarizing filters though. 👍

    • @miked9649
      @miked9649 Před rokem +3

      I agree the Nismo is a better value and just a much better overall car then the sport package. I bought a 2020 Nismo coming from a 2013 sport package… the cars are night and day the Nismo is just incredible. With Looks aside the suspension on the Nismo feel’s totally different and like a different car. Incredible.

      @@rideintel9960 the nismo is overpriced
      the seats aren't real recaros (only the back, the seat bottom is the same as the sport, no bolsters)
      the wheels are meh (especially compared to the v1 nismo) (also the sport comes with forged rays as well fyi)
      the body kit doesn't look as good as the v1 nismo
      the nav is terrible
      the added power is just a tune
      the suspension is not actually much different than the sport, either model needs coilovers and spl arms badly (you can find nismo suspension for about $400)
      the nismo exhaust is sad, first thing i replaced (also you could buy a used nismo exhaust on the forums for about $300usd)
      the diff needs replaced with a mechanical (you can easily change the final drive while you do that)
      not worth anywhere close to 10k sadly.

    • @rideintel9960
      @rideintel9960  Před rokem +3

      @@seethruhead7119 The Nismo suspension upgrade is $1097 at Z1 motorsports, I don't recommend buying used suspension. Buying used brakes and suspension is not a safe bet. The seats are recaro sportster seats, and you're looking at $5K for just a back assembly on one seat at Z1motorsprts, and more than twice that for two complete seat assemblies. If you don't care about having the included airbags, you can save a few bucks by getting the aftermarket versions from Recaro's website direct. The nismo comes with 18 more horses and 6 ft-lbs of additional torque, which is made through the upgraded exhaust, intake plenum, and obviously the tune. If you didn't have the upgraded exhaust and intake plenum, there wouldn't be much to tune. The sound system is pretty good in my opinion, and I do appreciate the addition of the sub and how it was designed to lock down your spare tire kit beneath the hatch liner, but also be tucked away so as not to impede on your cargo space. Also, the labor to attach the final drive gears, exhaust, intake plenum, replace the wheels, and attach the body upgrades will set you back quite a bit on top of the expense for the seats. I've done the math several times, and it amounts to way more than $10K. There's nothing wrong with getting a base or a sport model, but given the above, the Nismo provides more bang for your buck, especially considering it was only an extra 10K from the factory. 🤙

    Hey guys I have some questions. This is open to everyone in the comments I want to hear all thoughts and opinions. I’m in the car market rn would you rather 370Z nismo 340i xdrive, M340i, or should I look into an old GTR?

    • @rideintel9960
      @rideintel9960  Před rokem +2

      A Nismo 370Z and an M340i are two different animals and and shouldn't be compared. One is a sports coupe and the other is a luxury sedan, (although the latter is considered to have above average performance). A GTR shouldn't be compared with the former either as it's priced out of that category, and buying an "old GTR" will almost certainly require one to replace the transmission which will will undoubtedly cost over $20K. If you're looking for a sports car, the Z is hard to beat for the price...If you want to carry more than one passenger, but still want some power on tap - the m340i will fit the bill nicely.

    • @rideintel9960
      @rideintel9960  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Doug Demuro did one with the automatic. It's not that impressive. He probably would have given the Z a higher score if he drove one with a manual, and was able to appreciate the rev matching tech; (Nissan was the first to bring that feature to market). The automatic doesn't shift particularly fast, but it's not particularly slow either. Just doesn't always down shift on command, and when tracking or driving through the canyons, that can be quite problematic sometimes. The 370z Nismo is a much better car with the manual, but while the automatic isn't great, it isn't horrible either. If I had to grade the automatic transmission on this car, I would give it "C" grade overall. Hope this helps!
