Mark Felix is probably one of the only people in the world who asks for a FATTER grip on a Hercules hold. What a legend in the sport.
These are the same as ones used on SCL I believe
His hands are big from all the training and his genetics so a smaller group would not be good for him. His fingers would meet his hand and hurt his chances

man that was a cool competition! I was expecting mark to fare better overall, but considering everyone out there is 15 years his junior and still true pro strongmen, he did quite well indeed. eric dawson's viking press was legendary, and espenkrona being a swede really deserved that viking title!
I've genuinely never heard Mark speak, and I have to say that he is far more soft-spoken than I ever expected.

Nahhhh. Fighting the weight of almost 300 pounds on EACH HAND in addition to gravity continuously weighing you down even more, for over a minute? I feel like this could already literally rip an average person in half (or at least seriously injure them one way or another), let alone even the most powerful strongmen trying for 2 minutes or above. My guess is we as a species (without crazy performance enhancements or what have you) would cap in the Hercules Hold at probably two, maybe three minutes (at this particular weight), but I imagine we still have a ways to go from here in terms of reaching human limits, so it's anybody's guess tbh.
But still, 30 minutes is far too long imo 😂

Mark Felix, the only guy in the world to complain that the grip wasn't thick enough! Amazing strongman proving once again why he's the best when it comes to grip strength. Can we remember and appreciate the fact that he is 56 years old too!

Colin Bryce is a legend in his own right. He’s been the voice of WSM for years and is a genuine fan. His enthusiasm and respect inspires the same in others. As for Mark Felix, what can I say? Forget about his longevity in the sport and recognise him for the deadlift, deadlift for reps and grip legend he truly is. If only his overhead lifts were on a par, he’d have won WSM for sure.

Felix is the best in grip strenght and resistance but he has lack in other things so he can't reach the top when it's a polyvalent competition.
But very impressive on this kind of effort.
I think even if he is 56 he can go and learn armwrestling and be TOP50 easily in a year (I don't know if he try already).
