Many thanks. I was in total panic when my bonnet wouldn't open. You guys sorted it in 2 mins. Awesome.
saw the other videos on you tube ...drilling and cutting away but i said to myself there must be another without damaging anything and i came to this video ...thanx very much, much appreciated
Thank you! I shall now have the confidence to tackle some of the daunting tasks and saved money as well
Worked a treat for my 06 gti. Thanks👍🏻
worked for me! thank you so much!
THANK YOU! worked for me.
Worked a treat, thanks
Brilliant. I had my date with destiny today. Thank you for sharing this.
I had this problem and it wasn't nearly as simple as this video suggests to fix. I couldn't find the cable with my fingers and neither could the guys in the VW specialist I took it to, even after viewing this video first. They used a mirror and adapted tool to reach it and the replacement cable was £80. Total cost just shy of £200.
Having this problem right now
Thank you - i have now my friends engine.
Thank you very much for the technical advice. I'd have the same problem of opening the bonnet of a VW Polo 2006 model from the front. I think a 3D image of how this was down could also help because I don't know exactly what I need to hook on. I can see the cable but I don't know how to hook it & push it down as you've demonstrated.
yeah same i cant find the cable either,
I have a Mégane cc with a flat battery. The key won't open the lock as it should. Do you know if this will work or would you suggest jacking up the front to charge the battery from underneath?
Bu bilgi için sana teşekkür ederim. Sana Türkiye’den yazıyorum. Beni ücret ödemekten kurtardın.👋🏻👍🏻
Tnx
Can any of you guys help, I’ve got a MK5 GTi and the bonnet cable is not attached to the mechanism. How do I open it?
What if the cable itself pulled off the locking mechanism in the hood?
Will this work on a golf mk7. My battery has run out and door key hole damaged. Please help.
Okay so my cable is still connected to the latch in the car. But the cable isn’t connecting to whatever it’s pulling. When I took the badge off I could see the cable dangling there with a little ball on the end.
How did you fix it man? The cable has disconnected on my mk5 gti at the latch
what if you have the badgeless grille like that
Hi i have a MK5 jetta 2.0 tdi , can i use this way also on my car ?
my car has the that big hole to place the hand inside and find the cable, but i was able to find it.
what for a cable is it ?
It is lika a wire-cable... the same as used on mopeds and bicycles for handbrake etc ...
Does that work on a 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan? There is no hole that big on my SUV.
My cable isn’t connected to the hood. Like I can see then end of the cable
what if your cable is disconected from the hood latch can you still open it manually without removing the 2 star screws and having to pull up the whole latch forcing it and possibly ripping the open hood sensor connection??? if so please help
There are three scews, only two are visible, the third one is behind the grill
Alguien que me lo diga en español jaja
El mío se soltó el Chicote y no lo puedo abrir como le hago !! Urge !!!
Cannot get the cable down. Any other methods
it didn't work on my mk5 tdi, mine doesn't have that big hole to place the hand inside and find the cable
MicksGarage1 so solution drill into it and make one?
Same here
And golf 6 TSI
This is more like a general mk6 model, theres not a gap underneath to feel the tiny hole. fml
I locked the car then I did disconnect the battery and I closed the hood . How can I open the hood . My gti does not have the VW logo hole .): any one can help ?
ingrit demneri same here. Have you solved the issue?
this doesn't work on my gti there is no cable to feel back there
How did u ever get yours to release? Mine is like yours
Should have watched this about a week ago cuz I broke my VW badge by just pulling it out
This doesn't work on 2007 petrol golf. Wasted loads of time. Even if you've cut the hole much bigger you can't reach anything.
If you take out the centre front grille below the number plate you can see up into the latch with a mirror. I have got big arms and hands but managed to reach the broken inner cable which was hanging down and pull it. Otherwise with a stiff piece of galv wire bent into a hook at the end you can reach the lever and cable end and just pull down. About 6 mins!
What about my TOURAN, 2007, it's unlock , and it is not the same as GOLF GTI
