    This was a great quick video. Thanks. Only had one question/suggestion. For super newbies like myself it would've been nice to have a quick location explanation of where the plug and filter housing was. But I loved the video. Hoping I can do my first oil change on my husband's car soon. Thank you.

    This is the first time changing the oil on our GTI. I'm used to doing this to the Honda, so I was a bit intimidated. I never knew the was a 36mm socket until today. This was a great and informative video. Great job!

    Shouldn’t fill right on the max level in my opinion you are measuring cold oil when it’s warm you will read over max.

    I did as explained in the video thinking it would help with the oil pressure warning light as the oil and filter hadn't been changed in a while, but the problem still persists. Do you have any suggestions of what to do next?

    hello - first time oil changer on a VW...question about the perforated inner tube that pulled out with the old filter...I see where you put the tube into the new filter and then started to push down on the new filter into the cartridge housing (at 5:20), but then the video switches to a view of the fully inserted filter before it can be seen how securely the tube is reinserted into the cartridge. does the perforated tube snap back into the housing, or is it in loose? Mine pulled out with the old filter like yours did in the video...I put the new filter on the tube, but it remained loose in the cartridge and didn't seem to have a way to snap back in securely. I rotated it around and pushed on it, but it still did not seem to snap back in. I didn't want to break it, so didn't horse on it too much. Does it matter if the tube is loose or secure? every video I've seen of this shows a tube that looks secure in the cartridge. thanks.

      @steves4639 Před 7 lety

      thx for the quick reply! I pulled off the cartridge and looks like when I put the cartridge on the 1st time it seated the tube...and without crushing the filter. it definitely seemed like where it was supposed to be. my experience is with American v8's and spin-on oil filters so this cartridge kinda threw me. thx again for the advice.

      MicksGarage1 hi,I followed your guide step by step but ever since doing the change i get this cold start rattle coming from the sump area just for a second or two. any ideas as the car drives spot on.? on one website it said i shouldn't have filled the filter with oil as it can create a airlock.?
