Has Grand DeSign fixed their frame failure problems with Lippert. If not they are going to have a problem sell products. They should come out and address this to the customers. Claim it and move forward.
Did you receive your Coach yet, and how do you like your new Coach. This is the one that we fell in love with, but with all the issues we’ve been hearing, it’s put a pause on us ordering a Coach at this time. Thank you!
Tish Yes, we took possession of our new 370 DV several weeks ago and we have taken our first short long trip to the Grand Design rally in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. It is definitely more spread out in the middle, giving us a little more room around the coffee bar area, a coat closet in the hallway in an additional linen closet in the bathroom with two sinks. We also ordered the Future Solutions solar package, dual pane windows, three ACs, independence, suspension, in the hybrid desk dinette table. So far in our short ownership, we haven’t had any issues. But I do hear your concerns with Grand Design issues and we are concerned about those as well, but so far we are keeping our fingers crossed. If money is not a concern for you when purchasing your next fifth wheel I suggest that you take a look at new horizon RVs. The 33 RK 3S is there entry level but very pricey at 250 K. Probably the best belt fifth wheel there is . Good luck and let me know if I can assist further.
I just saw your post, and wanted to Thank you so much for answering me. My husband and me really love the Grand Designs, and every one we have ever seen has been so beautiful. We have decided to order one around September of this year. We figured that by then, they’ll have all the issues that they’ve been having with the frames and water leaks should be ironed out by then. So far we have been on several trips in the trailer has not given us any issues as of yet. I do think the independent suspension is playing a big role and keeping the trailer from getting to shook up going down the road. The Future Solutions solar package has been very nice to have. Given that it is a Chinese package and not a Vron package I am really surprised at how well mannered the system is. We continue to really enjoy the extra space. The 370 DV gives us over the 310 GK. But I have to tell you that there is a significant weight gain between the 370 DV and the 310 GK. As of right now we are floating around 17,000 pounds. Our 2022 Ford F350 7.3 yes engine struggled to tow this comfortably and any inclines was somewhat difficult. We decided to upgrade our truck to the high output diesel version with a 2024 f350. Our new truck has absolutely no issues towing our big trailer and we get about 10 to 11 miles per gallon doing so which is a far cry from the 6 1/2 miles per gallon. We were getting with the gas engine. So far, I am not noticing any frame flexing issues nor any water leaks, but given the numerous issues that I see and read about all I can do is keep my fingers crossed. Budget is no issue with you. I was strongly suggest taking a look at new horizons RV. They are out of junction city Kansas and I would have to say their fifth wheels are probably the finest built anywhere. You’ll need at least a dually to safely pulled a two smallest fifth wheels they offer. Anything bigger and I would start to recommend a medium duty truck. Back to Grand Design. There has been so many CZcams videos, speaking out against Grand Design and their seemingly lack of good customer support that I caution you true temper your excitement about owning a Grand Design. The CEO of Grand Design recently came out with an extension of the frame warranty from 3 to 5 years And backdating it to 2020. But many have said this is too little too late but we shall see. I myself can’t help it. Wonder when I connect my fifth wheel to my truck is this trip going to be the one that I have problems with or not? If you see this, give me a heads up with some of your thoughts about what you plan to do. Good luck.
I agree. We definitely will be ordering with the Independent Suspension with disc brakes. I believe Grand Design is trying to make the improvements that is needed. If they want to keep their strong business it only benefits them as a company. We do not know anyone personally that has had frame failure, but there’s plenty of customers that been hurt by it.
