    I'm happy I went on this when the animatronic was moving. Kinda sucks it's just stone lights now but still a hell of a ride.

    I wish the yeti moved like it did when it opened, cause I rode the ride, and it would be 12 hundred times better if they could somehow fix it. :(

    I'm so glad I got to ride this attraction in it's prime :) Utterly amazing, beautiful detail, lots of surprises, even the queue was interesting to look at. While the yeti now is buggered, one day it will be returned to it's former freaky glory :)

    I wish I can afford to take my family to Disney World. My parents took me and sister back in 1988.

    I’m terrified of Roller Coasters but, that yeti looks so beautiful and must’ve taken so long to build! It’s sad that it’s not working anymore and you can’t see it as well due to flashing lights.

    I still remember watching this on TV back in early 2007, and I was SOOOO terrified to ride this when I first knew about it. 😂 That was 2 more years before I actually went to Walt Disney World in October 2009. 😁

    I enjoyed every minute of this! Going on this ride was definitely one of the highlights of my family's Disney trip. We went years ago and I really miss it.

    Now thats something really weird coming from Disney, all of their rides have full access for imagineers in orther to repair their animatronics or take them to the repair station, Why didnt this one??, now i dont know when they are gonna repair this issue, but whiout the yeti it takes almost 50% of the atmosphere they took so long to create.

    • @imblue7612
      @imblue7612 Před 4 lety +3

      I know you said this 6 years ago lol. But repairing the yeti would a millions of dollars because in order to repair the yeti and make it move again, they would have to take down the entire structure of the mountain.

      @@imblue7612 That's the point I was arguing, that they never bothered to make the section of the Yeti accesible to take the animatronic out in case they need to fix something, like the support bins, but now the mountain is stuck with an immobile expensive statue.

    • @imblue7612
      @imblue7612 Před 4 lety +1

      Georgif Your right about that. I guess they were so happy with there animatronic that they became overconfident and didn’t think to put some type of area where they can take the yeti out and make it move less or weigh less.

    But they wont because it would be too much of a cost to do so. And because Disney parks are always expanding and doing new things. THe Yeti will pretty much be in B mode for the rest of this rides existance. I'm simply proud to say that I was on the ride and say it move the first time. And it was the most breath taking thing I ever saw. Hopefully Disney will take the time to shut the park down for a month and take the neccessary steps to fix it. But I'm not gonna get my hopes up.

    I wish I could’ve rode this when the yeti was actually moving. I’ve ridden expedition everest w disco yeti more than a handful of times without thinking it was scary but if the yeti’s movements were to actually return, I would probably pee my pants lol

  • @MoonLitCat

    As beautiful as the yeti is I feel that this is a pretty big design flaw not tested well enough apparently. It's rather disappointing that so much work was put in this beautiful creature yet he cannot be used to his capability. Now the only way to fix is is to take some of the mountain down and close for a few months.

    • @verminscum
      @verminscum Před 3 lety +1

      I don't think testing was the issue. The yeti doesn't currently operate because an earthquake caused the concrete foundation to crack, which means if it continued to run it could collapse. There's nothing actually wrong with the yeti. It works fine, it would just be a danger to operate unless they fix the foundation. No amount of testing could've prevented a crack from an earthquake.
