Hey Jonathan! I am really not an expert in this area so I don’t know if I can articulate or even provide good tips, but here are things that helped me. 1) Sing a lot! I’m a shy boy so I didn’t grow up singing. The moment I got a drivers license, I started singing a lot in my car, and that alone helped me develop my singing significantly. The principle behind this is to treat your voice like an instrument! The more you practice an instrument, you’re bound to become more familiar with it. 2) This part is a mystery to me, but some days my voice “opens up” as though the air travels better from my tummy area to my lips. I don’t know how to make this happen consistently, but it does help me to warm up my voice! You can search on CZcams for some vocal exercises. 3) Find your best range. I try really hard not to sing out of my sweet spot range, because I have a lot more control over intonation and etc when I’m singing in my prime range. For guys, most songs work best G~B. There are exceptions, of course. But do try and push your limits so you know the range of your voice. Most singers (like me) are scared to explore the higher range of their voices because it’s embarrassing when you struggle to hit a note, so I did this a lot in my car 😌 I hope these helped you a little bit!
