It's also possible that it's not actually extinct. The Wollemi pine was thought to be extinct and only found in fossils until a park ranger in Australia stumbled upon a Grove of them deep in the Bush
Well, the possible Wollemi pine fossils that have been discovered all date to after the dinosaurs. Lepidodenron is much older, even predating the dinosaurs, so it's much less likely to still be alive as it would've had to survive 2-3 mass extinctions.
It's also similar to the Coelacanth. Was thought to have gone extinct during the Cretaceous. Then one day, a paleontologist was walking around a fish market in India and just saw one chilling in a tank. He immediately asked the fish merchant where the hell he got that fish, and he replies "we get those all the time". And it turns out they've just been chilling in the Indian Ocean all this time.

Idksterling's WAKE UP is more terrifying than the video itself
STOP BECAUSE THE “Wake up!” AT THE END JUMPSCARED ME SO BAD, LMAO. 💀
Honestly he scared the soul out of me because he doesn’t ever move his camera and he said that in a high voice. I literally jumped my seat 😂
I got Jumpscared at the end
Bro fr same
Right
That wake up ☠️
When he said you have to "WAKE UP" idk why but it sent a chill down my spine! 😭😱🥶🥶
Because he wants you to
Wake up
Wake up
Wake up
Wake up
Wake up
He just jumpscared me at the end, when he said"Wake Up"😂
Me when i see a funny looking tree: 🎅🎅🎅💰
Tips to wake up:
1n: close your eyes
2: close them really hard like you are a kid hiding under the blanket for demons
3: you are awake if it doesn’t work
(Pinching yourself doesn’t work and sometimes pain transfers to the dream)
The "wake up" got my soul to leave my body faster than my dad going to get the milk
THAT LAST PART GAVE ME CHILLS
Man really hit us with the "wake up wake up wake up wake up"
Instruction unclear, wake up and peed my bed.
i think i have seen one before when i was younger and it had basically the same texture on the trunk but i dont really remember what the top of the tree looked like because my memory is fuzzy but i think it kind looked like that
Bro really hit me with that jumpscare at the end 💀
Giving "Raiden, something happened to me last Thursday when I was driving home. I had a couple of miles to go - I looked up and saw a glowing orange object in the sky, to the east! It was moving very irregularly." Vibes
This is great to watch at 3 in the morning.
That "WAKE UP" scared the shit outta me 🤣🤣
The “you just have to- Wake up.” Actually scared me so bad. Why did that scare me!? Idk it’s just eerie.
His death stare at the end is killing me
I’ll set my ALARM CLOCK 😂😂
Ngl lepidodendron tree looks like something I could live with. It looks gorgeous.
you don’t have to be alarmed just WAKE UP 😳
I don't know why tho, but the trees look somewhat ominous and paired with the music in almost every video of the tree, its quite scary. It has some backrooms feeling.
we goin back into my weirdcore/dreamcore arc again with this
The last one w "wake up" scared the sht outra me
that wake up caught me off guard even when im playing it without the sounds (someone is asleep next to me)
me realizing im technically seeing this tree in real life through the video:
Somehow my brain interpreted this whole meme as a terrifying omen that would indicate that some unknown omnipotent being is watching me and waiting to do something to me
I know you're not joking but the way you say "WAKE UP" is just hilarious😭
This is the first I'm hearing of it but I already love this meme
This tree could be great for a horror game
The *wake up* at the end was the best jump scare ever
Tree meme has the potential to be an analog horror.
I honestly really like this extinct tree, but really wish it still existed but its too late.
Me too, they're beautiful. I wish they were still around
man i wish the wacky more-alga-than-plant plants/trees that existed in the early times of life on land were around nowadays, it all looks so otherworldly but that FUCKING METEOR had to wipe almost EVERYTHING away
If you think about it we would see those trees as normal in todays time if the meteor never wiped them out
Thanks for this information before i went to sleep a few days later i slept i had a dream and i saw the tree i got terrified that i knew i was on a dream no it was more of a nightmare no more of a lucid one
The wake up part almost knocked me out
😳 Scared the heck outta me at the end. I’mm definitely awake now!
Or are you?
I cant believe people took it as a real thing to worry about
The "You just have to WAKE UP" made me acared for some reason-
“Homie rake rup rits time for ruh runt.”
-The caveman that woke me up.
*Well that was unexpected*
*Almost the level of unexpectation as the spanish inquistion*
The effect would have been better had the 'wake up' part been just a SMIDGE louder. Or I guess you could have flat-out deep fried that part for some peak Zoomer humor.
Overall, decent meme, 🤓/10
Bro the “wake up” jumpscared me
That "WAKE UP" scared me
Imagine copying the DNA of the tree, regrow it, and start planting it everywhere
It will die as it wont be able to live in this environment.
Lepidodendron was a giant club moss. Ain’t nothing even close to that today.
“wake up.” BLUD SCARED ME😭😭😭
Looking pretty, hope they genetically recreate it soon
I saw this tree after waking up at 4 am in the morning outside my window while tryna get some water... i don't know what to do.
Don’t worry, it’s just a hologram, or is it?
@@Ambulasaur god help
nuh uh no you didn't it disappeared when The Meteor™ slammed into earth a couple million years ago leading to a mass extinction event
Who knew trees could be so scary
Daro forests at night are always creepy
0:29 this made my day better :) 👍👍👍👍
(makes time traveling tree house)
i like the idea of someone thinking theyve found it, think theyve fallen into some time ripple, and they still gotta get up and hobble to work the next day lol
The fact that this showed up in my recommended and I just woke up froma weird dream
