    Awesome insight including both aerobic & anaerobic filtration in one filter.

    I'm Singaporean. I support your video and always view it. Make more videos. About Guides Filter and Media. For each kind of budget. Also if possible could you tell us how much you spent on the Acrylic Pieces that ordered from DamaTrading in SGD also USD so other people can understand more about it. It really helps

      Thanks for watching bro. Hope you found it useful. 15mm acrylic sheet is 350SGD for a 4' by 8' sheet. My tank required ~1.75 sheets including the bracing. The top piece is separate cost and the most expensive because it was laser cut, 500SGD for that alone. Definitely cheaper if you don't do laser cuts for the center cut outs

    First of all, thanks for the interesting video. I am interested in such a filter for a vegetated aquarium. I heard that it causes the co2 to come out of the water. If I artificially add co2 can it help so I can also grow aquarium plants?

    • @DIYSomethingSG
      @DIYSomethingSG  Před rokem

      Hey thanks! I unfortunately don't know a whole lot about planted aquariums but can see why it might cause CO2 to escape from the trickle down process
      It is a lot more aeration than a canister or closed system filter would have

    Im using 2000L/H pump for my 3 ft aquarium. Can it support the filtration system? Or should i upgrade it to 3000L/H?

    • @DIYSomethingSG
      @DIYSomethingSG  Před 2 lety +2

      the flow rate e.g. 2000L/H on your pump is calculated at 0CM pump height
      so if the maximum pump height is stated as 2meters, and you're pumping up through a 1meter pipe to your filter, you can estimate your "true" flow rate to be 1000L/H
      best to see if your fish can handle larger flow without struggling to keep up with the current
      else your fish might get get sucked and stuck to the filter :)

      Trickle filter alone probably around 100usd including shipment. Tank is 500 litres or 130 gallons. It’s working great, have reduced mechanical filtration and increased biological since my bioload is light- just 1 22 inch red arowana

    • @DIYSomethingSG

      hey, I used to do monthly washes, but I've since switched to all disposable white filter foams
      I find it polishes the water better, less residue and certainly less hassle
      will try to do a video update end of year of all the changes since initial build (pump, ohf setup, surface skimmer)

      @@DIYSomethingSG The business has been affected hugely in the positive sense by the plandemic but I still want the nonsense to end as I see so many people being paid to stay at home while their businesses are destroyed by corporations - most of them don't realize that they will have no jobs to go back to and all the loans are doing is prolonging the death of their business and putting them into a lifetime of debt. As I saw the way it was going 15+ years ago I've removed us from the debt / control system many years ago so we're OK but millions aren't.
