i realize it's kinda off topic but does anybody know of a good website to watch newly released series online ?
@Zion Alexis lately I have been using Flixzone. Just search on google for it =)
@Stanley Arthur yea, have been watching on Flixzone for since march myself :)
@Stanley Arthur Thanks, signed up and it seems like a nice service =) I appreciate it!
@Zion Alexis You are welcome :)
Awesome insight including both aerobic & anaerobic filtration in one filter.
I'm Singaporean. I support your video and always view it. Make more videos. About Guides Filter and Media. For each kind of budget. Also if possible could you tell us how much you spent on the Acrylic Pieces that ordered from DamaTrading in SGD also USD so other people can understand more about it. It really helps
Thanks for watching bro. Hope you found it useful. 15mm acrylic sheet is 350SGD for a 4' by 8' sheet. My tank required ~1.75 sheets including the bracing. The top piece is separate cost and the most expensive because it was laser cut, 500SGD for that alone. Definitely cheaper if you don't do laser cuts for the center cut outs
First of all, thanks for the interesting video. I am interested in such a filter for a vegetated aquarium. I heard that it causes the co2 to come out of the water. If I artificially add co2 can it help so I can also grow aquarium plants?
Hey thanks! I unfortunately don't know a whole lot about planted aquariums but can see why it might cause CO2 to escape from the trickle down process
It is a lot more aeration than a canister or closed system filter would have
Im using 2000L/H pump for my 3 ft aquarium. Can it support the filtration system? Or should i upgrade it to 3000L/H?
the flow rate e.g. 2000L/H on your pump is calculated at 0CM pump height
so if the maximum pump height is stated as 2meters, and you're pumping up through a 1meter pipe to your filter, you can estimate your "true" flow rate to be 1000L/H
best to see if your fish can handle larger flow without struggling to keep up with the current
else your fish might get get sucked and stuck to the filter :)
Where did you get the case and box?
How much did you spend on that filter and how big is that tank? Interesting filter. How does it perform after a year?
Trickle filter alone probably around 100usd including shipment. Tank is 500 litres or 130 gallons. It’s working great, have reduced mechanical filtration and increased biological since my bioload is light- just 1 22 inch red arowana
I've done research that states that pot scrubbers are better than biohome ultimate. I have biohome ultimate but I'm about to make the switch and find out myself.
Yeah pot scrubbers way cheaper as well. Go for it! I’ll do a video update this year end, have made several changes since initial build
What hose did you use?
Regular garden hose clear
But in this initial build I used clear acrylic pipe
Great video. Where did you get the trickle filter from, do you have a link?
thanks bud! yeah the link is in the next video czcams.com/video/Ga3GiPWWRhI/video.html&ab_channel=DIYSomethingSG
but just realized it requires login to access, I got it from TaoBao, which is the Chinese consumer ecommerce site of parent Alibaba
try searching for Drip Box Filter or Trickle Box filter in your equivalent
@@DIYSomethingSG thank you!
Hi..do you wash the foam weekly?
hey, I used to do monthly washes, but I've since switched to all disposable white filter foams
I find it polishes the water better, less residue and certainly less hassle
will try to do a video update end of year of all the changes since initial build (pump, ohf setup, surface skimmer)
Hi friend have you notice any nirates getting lowered? What are your nirates levels?
Hi there! I have not tested my water parameters for over a year already but my fish is doing very well, grown 6 inch in 1 year now about 20inches in length, massive eater :)
Sir, where did you get your trickle system? Having a hard time searching
From Chinese website Taobao. Suggest to use Google Chrome and turn on auto translate page

What brand of trickle filter you have used?
I got it from china website TaoBao, there's a link in the description on my previous video #2

Where did u get the containers n the racking to hold them?
Containers I got from Toyogo, the base cabinet is from TaoBao links in the description
@@DIYSomethingSG thanks!
Help me do for me diy 😅 mine a small tank
Haha give the DIY build a shot, it's quite satisfying, learn a lot of things along the way
Nice one, man - I'm glad you made good use of the media. I subscribed but you may have to email me links for future videos as Google / youtube sends me no notifications now.
Thanks for the sub, Rich! Media is awesome, fully cycled in 22days with the help of bacteria balls. Will link you once that video is up Hope business isn't too badly affected by the pandemic. Take care and speak soon
@@DIYSomethingSG The business has been affected hugely in the positive sense by the plandemic but I still want the nonsense to end as I see so many people being paid to stay at home while their businesses are destroyed by corporations - most of them don't realize that they will have no jobs to go back to and all the loans are doing is prolonging the death of their business and putting them into a lifetime of debt. As I saw the way it was going 15+ years ago I've removed us from the debt / control system many years ago so we're OK but millions aren't.
Yes, I look forward to seeing the results, man.
@@pondguru what does the uv do to your media above it?
@@Martijnk811 I can't see a UV light above it?
@@pondguru uv light is under the media in the lowest tray.
what is the dimension size of your tank sir?
170cm x 60cm x 60cm
thank you very much sir.
Do you like this drip filtration better ?
Yeah for sure. As compared to the normal dripbox filters, this one has containers to both drip over & fully submerge media, allowing different strains of aerobic & anaerobic beneficial bacteria to cultivate
@@DIYSomethingSG thank you so much 🙏🏼
too much electricity consumption.
yeah, have changed all the pumps and air pumps since then to lower, more efficient electrical consumption ones, but still a costly hobby for nice display. cheers!
