Bruce is a legit renaissance man: lead singer, pilot, author, entrepreneur, and Olympic level fencer. And he kicked throat cancers ass and is back to performing. Dude is an inspiration and someone to aspire to be like. Since you haven’t heard them before, Number of the Beast and Run to the Hills are probably their most overall popular songs, but Fear of the Dark is my personal favorite.

It was tongue cancer (throat cancer surgery might really have crimped Bruce's style), but same difference. He whacked it into the long grass. I'm pleased to say that Hallowed Be Thy Name is my favourite, with Rime of The Ancient Mariner and Powerslave silver and bronze medals respectively.

Got to see the great Clive Burr twice. I have a white drum kit because of him. (its the one in the little circle to the left) He brought a more straight rock punkish groove. I have watched Nikko more than a few times and is he a "better" drummer...eh, just different. The loss of Clive changed Iron Maiden. For good or bad is your own call. Almost every metal band was influenced by Iron Maiden. Back then, radio play was critical to any band's success, but as a heavy metal band, they received very little radio play, yet were so successful, they were instrumental in the Grammy awards adding a "hard rock/heavy metal" category. Bands like Black Sabbath, Motorhead, and Iron Maiden laid the foundation for every metal band after them.

The singer, Bruce, has always been super-theatrical (sometimes people poke fun at him) but he's said that he wants everyone, including the people in the back or up in the balconies, to get the full treatment. Can't believe you've never heard Maiden!
At least you've fixed that now :)
They are the definition of Legends, started in the mid 70s in the UK when punk was the only music to play and stuck to their guns and helped shape the music genre we all love today.
Now they are all in their 60s and still touring, amazing to think Iron Maiden have had quite a few personnel changes but kept the same line up for 20 years now, that's longer than most bands have been around!
Maiden and Sabbath created Metal as we know it today.
Oh and Steve Harris (bass, lead songwriter and founder) thinks Tuomas from Nightwish is the greatest composer alive today and said that Nightwish are one of the few bands around that have the potential to become the next Maiden.
If Nightwish keep at it for as long as Maiden, maybe they will.

You have just witnessed the best metal band there ever has been or ever will be.
All done with minimal press & radio exposure or selling out, all done by hard work touring, album, touring, album, touring, album etc for over 40 years of being a signed band.

First saw Iron Maiden live in 1984 when I was 14 years old and rocking out squished against the barricade up front... saw them for the 5th time a year ago almost to the day. Crazy amazing live band even now - they've always gone and gave their fans 110% every show. My 3 favorite bands are Iron Maiden, Rush and Nightwish.... I think I can hang around on this chanel and watch you guys discover all the great music I that has formed my youth and become such a soundtrack to my life. Hard to think that there are people out there that are not familiar with these 3 amazing bands and the impressive musical talent all of them have. Keep up the Rush and Maiden reactions - Up the Irons metal brothers and sisters! \m/ \m/

I saw Iron Maiden live during the 1983 Piece of Mind tour and the 1985 Powerslave tour. There are no words to describe the energy they had on stage and the pure raw talent they put forth. As a bassist myself I was always enamored with Steve Harris's bass playing, he is so so excellent. The whole band and their music is timeless.
