  • This machine would start but because it's a used machine and a tecumseh I have no idea of the history of, its good to clean out the bowl bolt on these carburetors, also needed a new airfilter which it was not provided with and a new fuel line and top up of oil.

    Love those Tecumseh engines. You didn’t even clean out the bypass jet and it still ran fine!

    Great job . Those Craftsmen lawn mower with a Eager 1engine are hard to find around here.

    Runs like new! I got one of those hydraulic lift tables just like Bruce Pender uses. What a back saver when working on mowers, etc.. Best $ spent in my opinion. ❤️ harbor freight

    Nothing sounds like a tecumseh. They have such a distinct tone

    I haven’t worked on or seen a brand T in a long time.
    Good video

      Yea I seldom get them in anymore, hardly stock parts either, still have some new bowl gaskets, air filters, primer bulbs and a few loose carbs but all the other tecumseh stuff I had on the shelf i've slowly gotten rid of.

      @@hanksgarage_ I think I might have one air filter, and maybe a primer bulb. Somewhere in the hoard is a complete carb. I'm sure it's needing a clean and parts. I even have a briggs pulsa prime unit. Took it off of road kill. Only serviced one in the last 10 years. And its issue was a broken manifold pipe and incorrect gasket placement from a not so helpful neighbor trying to help out another neighbor.

      I have a feeling there are so many left on this end of the country, is because we dont really have rust issues here. Might explain alot of that, but like I said its been pretty rare to get them now. 10 years ago they were a lot more common.

    Thank you for the detailed video. A few questions: Is there a fuel filter and if so, where is that located? I would like to replace my line, primer bulb, and filter if possible.

    • @hanksgarage_
      @hanksgarage_  Před 3 lety +1

      If there is a filter it would be in the middle of the fuel line. Most of the time people don’t install them.

      Those are weird engines. I don’t like when the carb and muffler are on the same side. It’s confusing to me.

    Anyone know how to get the gas tank or? Mine does not have the 3 screws. Must be some hidden clips somewhere. Can’t find an example.

      If its a tecumseh like this one it just lifts up and off

      @hanksgarage_  Před 4 lety +1

      Rings may be worn. That is oil burning off. Or you have an issue with the pcv system
