Dear Honda. Please bring these back
Unfortunately the 2 cycle engine pollutes too much!
Nice bike
That is a very sweet bit of history, thank you
Thanks, we were excited to find this one in a store window in Japan. The owner seemed surprised we were even interested in it!
I love 2 strokes and friction drives . What a gem that is .
Super. Love these mopeds. It would be great to see these make a comeback.
That bike is just SO COOL!👍👍
So beautiful in so many ways
Here in the Netherlands we used to have the solex, it was a bike with a little engin on top of the front wheel. Kind of similar but I like this a lot more as center of gravity is lower and not over the front wheel. This will guarantee a lot more stable ride.
The red lever bicycle mode is for coming home late and trying to sneak in without being noticed!
Lovely little machine you'd think they'd bring these back
As someone who both cycles and rides a motorcyle regularly, that is a thing of beauty. So curius how it rides
It should ride nicely, you can expect a top speed around 28 - 30 km/h. (The Velo Solex of similar output and with same roller transmission does around 28 km/h too).
Your worlds are about to collide! Check out the motorized bicycle community its a whole thing!
It definitely won't set your hair on fire, but it will give you a nice assist if you're tired of peddling! On level ground, I'd estimate 15-18 MPH.
@@cyclerefineryThere are some countries where this vehicle would have a favoured legal status such as a lower minimum age to ride it. It was never officially imported to the UK where it would have exactly the same legal status as a similar vehicle with a 50cc engine.
I think this bike is absolutely beautiful. I would love to have one.
This is a fantastic specimen 🎉
I don't think I have ever seen or heard of that model before ! Thank You for putting that video out .
Thanks for watching!
That is something else!
Please Honda bring this back
thats likes near the 18cc Lohmann Diesel fahrrad motor
but this lohman has 3 piston rings and burns everything to 7500-15000 rpm
I'm not familiar with the Lohmann Diesel. I'll have to do some research, thanks!
This is beautiful
Cool for a around town bike😮
Quite unique. Like a motorcycle with all the lights. Closest I came was the Honda Hobbit. Got a DWI so I rode the Hobbit. It was a blast but slow.
Love the Hobbit! Hard to find now.
Imagine Honda selling these new for $500 today.
I want one!!!!
i wish honda can bring this back...
I would buy this today and honda should capitalize on it
Jesse can this engine/bike be replicated today ???
Honda is awesome.theres nothing they Wont attempt and pull it off better than anyone.im sure it'll last 1000 years also.earth will be blown up and these things will start up and ride first try !
Haha... very true. This one probably hadn't been started in 35 years and fired up with minimal work!
friction drives the killer... if they had done it with a gear on the crank maybe, but friction drive? nah. bad memories of wet roads, slipping engines and generally being useless up-hill on a cold wet morning.
and at that point the extra complexity of needing reduction ratios and other things, simply no profit to even consider making... in that regard the "sachs" engine/wheels were good. and they were NOT cheap!
i would love to have a little tuned pipe on it...
god i want one.
How this is sick
Hey,
I’m currently living in Japan.
I just purchased a near mint People from a collector here. Very rare.
It was made in 1984 for a single year thats it.
Awesome! I'd love to know how many are still in service. Such cool little bikes! Thanks for sharing your experience!
@@cyclerefinery I’ve been trying to speak to the local Honda dealer here. Tracking down as much info as possible.
Maybe I’ll make my first post and show everyone the bike later.
Where can I buy one
The company is Honda PowerSports. Honda Light & Easy went out of business.
I rode 35cc TVS in India
This one slip by me I never saw it
just to gapped by a $100 bicycle engine on a clapped mountain bike
The climate nutters would never allow these once they see the two-stroke smoke
no! they love two strokes!
you simply grow castor bushes. gather beans. extract oil. all the vegetable matter, throw in a sealed chamber, break down with pyrolysis, distil resulting gas, you got methanol.
lovely clouds of sweet smelling, eye burning blue smoke, 100% eco friendly, renewable, and sustainable :)
Where can I buy one
We may have sourced another one if you'd like to give us a call.
