    I will always adore Barnsley , i have to say i loved the old Barnsley more ,,,the markets were stunning in every high degree ,,you could buy anything ,,,,,The choice of goods were limitless ,,,, its people were happy and smiling ,,,,Happy Days lol to all the lovely people of BARNSLEY and Districts xxx

    I used to work at Wakefield. Castleford and Pontefract Market in the 80s. Also South Elmsall and Hemsworth. You will never have the heritage, characters and loyalty of the market traders and public as the bygone years, I'm glad I was part of it.

      Sallie , i wish you and i were on a bit of a shopping spree in the old barnsley , we would have a beno ,xx maybe pie and peas with gravy at RAINERS YUMMY YUMMY ,,,,,,,WOW ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, long live Barnsley xxx love and miss you all xx

    title says 1970s, but seeing all the vehicles especially buses seemed to me a little earlier - there is a G reg car near the end which is 1969. Given all the prices were in pounds shillings and pence then it has to have been filmed before Decimalisation day (15 feb 1971)
