Dickie displayed considerable arrogance on occasions. He was lucky not to have been around in the era of 'reviews' as I suspect he would have been shown to be just as human as most other umpires.

I had left Laithes Crescent the year before, aged 10. Our house is in the shot. I recognise Robert Green and Mr Jagger from the clips, can’t remember anyone else. My dad is still with us, he’s 82. I’ve sent him the clip, he’s going to love it. Thankyou whoever has posted this, it’s lovely to see how I lived back in the 70s!!

Sad to note that it does not exist today. It was amalgamated. An ex colleague told me that his father was with the regiment as a troop commander when it landed in Normandy on D-Day. His tank was knocked out upon landing. They were equipped with DD M4 Shermans. His father survived the campaign and served on with the regiment. He left as a Major. Admirable man. Wish I had met him.

title says 1970s, but seeing all the vehicles especially buses seemed to me a little earlier - there is a G reg car near the end which is 1969. Given all the prices were in pounds shillings and pence then it has to have been filmed before Decimalisation day (15 feb 1971)
