@@isabellamorris7902 I've seen the 2 episodes aired so far and it's about a ninja with no reason to live and wanting to die but he can't. He realises the reason behind why he is unable to die and is set to embark on a journey to a land called paradise (they're searching for an elixir of some sort)

Best fantasy for me though the competition was tough. But definitely this one since I think it pops up more with the colors than demon Slayer personally.

I got to the middle of the anime and stoped the beginning of the show was for me but idk once I got to the middle it jus felt mid. The op 🔥 AF tho.
The opening was extremely good and the premise was very interesting, but the actual anime itself was definitely not up to par with the others, especially considering how well animated other shows and their fights were. It started off strong and had an interesting ending in my opinion, but the middle section was kind of lackluster, to be frank. Definitely looking forward to season 2, however. It's still a good series.

@@randomannoyance True. But MAPPA fans tend to be a particular egregious brand of willful illiteracy and obsessive studio culture. Shingo Yamashita directed two of the OPs mentioned here, and Kamata the other. MAPPA isnt some fully consistent studio like kyoani where at least blanket praise makes some sense. Even some old madhouse fans have the Maruyama period for some consistency to praise. Any commonality between more recent MAPPA works is generally poor compositing (Jigokuraku is a really bad offender here), but that's hardly some universal truth under the right staff either.

I’m sure that the actual directors deserve a ton of credit, I just happen to love openings made by the studio that produced them 😅. As far as I was aware, I would have assumed a production studio has at least somewhat of a say in artistic direction since they’re the ones providing the funds haha. So good for the staff! And thanks to MAPPA for producing it I guess? 😂
Love how nobody has mentioned that King Gnu/Millennium Parade have worked on all 3 Anime JJK, CSM, HP for the openings (millennium parade is a collab group between king gnu and other artists. Notable songs from the anime’s they’ve worked on are JJK0 Ending by King Gnu, CSM Kick Back (Kenshi Yonezu ft King Gnu/Millennium Parade), and WORK Sheena Ringo ft King Gnu/Millennium parade

I don't think Millennium Parade is a collab group between King Gnu and other artists. It's just Daiki Tsuneta from King Gnu, it's a creative collective led by him. Not just music too, art, video, etc. as well. They put out some crazy stuff.

I'm not even trolling when I say this may be my favorite OP of all time. Like the visuals are just so clean and the song is so fkn good. I haven't skipped it once in any of the episodes. GGs MAPPA.
If Anyone is wondering why it sounds odd:
Its in 4/4 time (or other signature divisible by 4) but the rythyms are subdivided weirdly in groups of 4 3 4 and 5. You can count it by counting each group of numbers between each "big note" of the main rythym. If you layer the actual beat with just sections of 4 over top of the 4345, it makes a cool polyrythymesque feel
To add on to this:
If subdividing the sixteenth notes, these are the ones that have the emphasis:
1 e + a 2 e + a 3 e + a 4 e + a 1

The drums still play a backbeat (snare drum on count 2 and on count 4) to contextualize the groove during the chorus

This has to be the best OP of the season, and also looks to be the best anime of the season. Main characters already have me sold on series and overall production value looks great.
It's between this and Oshi no Ko for me. Heavenly Delusion's is also fantastic.
It would normally be best anime of the season but this season has some ridiculously strong competition. So far I'm slightly enjoying Oshi No Ko and Demon Slayer more

I don't know what is the phenomenon of this openning , but I literally come here twice-three times a week to listen/watch this (often multiple times at once).
Absolutely in love with it.
Hands down my best opening in all the most recent anime that I have watched in the last several years. That first beat breakdown with Tenza (my fav character so far), really solidified it for me. Had me thinking, who is that Ryu/Ken character who they briefly flashed on the screen in such an epic dramatic way, after that I knew he would be important, because soon as the beat kicked back on, they showed him again against the tree... I said to myself "I look forward to seeing who this guy is." I eventually did, and he did not disappoint! All that thanks to the carefully emphasis of the beat breakdown, and glimpse onto a character battling what appears to be a creature larger than life. The rest of the intro continued to have my undivided attention, like possibly many other people, I NEVER skipped the intro! In fact, I paused it in some places and rewound it at times. I'll be throwing this bad boy on my spotify for sure, since I just finished the 1st season yesterday, and I started it the day before 😅 I'm babbling on, but this Anime is going to be epic as it is already great, and honestly they can keep this intro for the next season far as I'm concerned!
