    The hatchback Forte is absolutely beautiful. Inside and out!

    Have a 2011 SX Forte 5 model and have no issues at all. Regular maintenance with already 140kms on it and going strong

    I smoked a VW GTI in my Forte5 SX yesterday. The stuck up VW boy didn't know how to shift, and I blew him out of the water. 0-60 in 6 seconds flat.

    KIA was just rated #1 for quality in its segment.

    Great package hatch here, but it's quite low on torque for forced induction that's probably why the mpg is rated so low.

    Nice little car I'm averaging 25-26 mpg city with my 2.0l is a unique car I have seen maybe one more where I live makes feel unique lol in a county where we have million plus people, on Long Island NY

    People will have their preferences, but people are blinded by a badge. This is not your fathers Kia. I also don't think people understand who this car is geared towards. It's for someone who wants near hot hatch speed, but with real practicality. Think Fiesta ST but with real space and cargo room. Sure the suspension could be better, but it's not bad either. You are not going to find a new car with this type of space, speed and features in the low 20's. Quarters in the high 14's/low 15's and a 0-60 that has ranged from 6.5 to 6.9. Give it some tires and a tune and it will catch people off guard.

    I had this 1.6 turbo in my Veloster and man was it fun, but now I have a mazda 3 with 17 less horsepower that feels WAY faster. Im not sure if they smoothed out the powerband for the 14's, but the acceleration was always all over the place. Plus as mentioned when going over some road bumps the car will bounce around...again the mazda 3 is so planted to the ground no matter what it hits. I really love the way this forte5 looks but there is just so much wrong with it to make it worth buying. Staying away from hyundai/kia until they figure out turbos and until they start using twin beam suspension.

    • @ToyotaCelicaDude1
      @ToyotaCelicaDude1 Před 10 lety +9

      3000 dollars less you can get a Kia forte fully loaded! And that awesome warranty. Ford is afraid to give a warranty like that because they know their products aren't that reliable. I know. Had a 2004 focus. Worst car ever. 2009 Kia optima. Still going strong. No problems what so ever.2012 Kia forte. No problems either.

    Probably going to hop into one of these after my 2013 Optima lease is done. I like the looks, features and power.
    Great review, hope to see more reviews from the Kia family in the future.

  • @hnnotyy
    @hnnotyy Před 9 lety +1

    KIA has come along way and you will be surprised fully loaded vehicle with awesome warranty can't beat it. I love all the hates buying stuff more than they can afford I rather have all the toys and etc and pay less, I have other things I want to spend my money on.

    • @whynot7026
      @whynot7026 Před 9 lety

      That's what I thought too, but I regret buying the 2013 Forte Koup. First of all, the suspension SUCKS ASS, my heat shield of the motor has been replaced twice now, and I think it's rattling again so it needs to be replaced again. Also, my clutch squeaks like crazy and sometimes it makes me stall do to the fact the clutch sucks ass, and oh don't forget about my squeaky ass driver seat. And I'm tired of taking my car to the dealer because it's one problem after another and sometimes they think I'm making shit up like my squeaky clutch and seat. I SHOULD HAVE NEVER BOUGHT A KIA! I should of gone with the basic FRS I would of been happier!

  • @Ezero8
    @Ezero8 Před 7 lety

    Okay, I wish I knew about this car, would've got it instead. It's basically my Elantra GT with the 1.6L turbo engine that I wanted in it. But I'm still happy cuz I like NA engines more.

  • @ToyotaCelicaDude1

    I love how everyone is hating on Kia when I highly doubt their preferred car company is perfect. Kia is good at things like every other car maker. Kia is bad at some things like every other car maker. I highly doubt most car company's started off great. Knowing Kia started here in the USA just a short 20 years ago.

    $27k? Unfortunately for Hyundai, there's the volkswagen and Mazda hatchbacks which both are more dynamic and refined

    • @ronnymb67
      @ronnymb67 Před 9 lety +4

      I owned 4 VW's before our 12 SX. Comparing MSRP's to be fair. A $27,000 GTI? Not with the content, warranty and cargo/passenger room of the SX. A 5 door GTI SE (leather,sunroof,back up camera) starts at $28,385. The Autobahn (nav,dual zone climate control, power drivers seat) starts at $30,045. Add the automatic - actually the DSG trans that requires at $450 service every 40K, Lighting Package to get HID's,etc, and it's $32,960 - $6100 MORE. Plus a $2000 extended warranty to have 100K coverage. Not knocking the GTI. I loved all 4 of my VW's. If I wanted more "hot" in my hatch, I'd spring for a GTI with an extended warranty. But from my point of view - looking for some practical fun that's priced well, reliable and covered just in case it isn't - which if the 61,000 trouble free miles with our 12 is any indication, I expect it to be the same, they're will soon be a new load 5 SX parked next to our 12 SX.

    Nice looking exterior and interior overall but the shift knob is butt ugly. looks like it's from the 80's. LOL Beside, it has poor gas millage so mind as well get the optima or a Camry V6, 2.0 Fusion etc..

    • @RedroomStudios
      @RedroomStudios Před 9 lety

      I agree the shift knob is a styling error... but the build quality of it feels excellent. also the phrase is "might as well", not mind as well.

      Yup, this is a competitor to the Fiesta ST, Madza 3s (with the 2.5L), Civic SI not MS3, Focus ST, etc and the price reflects that.
