I am a stick and string sailor but have always liked the Linssen brand. I have seen a few when I have sailed across to the Frisian Islands. As old age rushes towards me I could see myself getting lost in the European waterways. No dragging anchors, dinners on the saloon floor. A gentle 20 metre walk to a bar or cafe. If I could do a little coastal cruising too, mores the better. Great video I may even look a yachtworld and see what is available, used of course😀.

Linssen: "Please do not open this fridge door."
Hugo: "Here's the inside of the refrigerator. " 😂😂

I did check with them first. They just didn’t want every show visitor opening it.

More than enough for a lot of people and a reasonable price, not like the crazy prices we are seeing in the markets. Well done.

I appreciate how many conveniences are mechanical rather than electric and won’t break. This seems like a well-designed, practical boat because of those details. Thanks for the tour!

I love this. I'd fill those storage voids with food and take off for a few months at a time with just me and my cat.

This is a boat my wife and I would love. Fuel efficiency, enough space, separation of head from wet shower…

This would be the perfect live aboard and great quality as the dutch are well known for their knowledge and build quality! ❤

Another excellent video Hugo, thank you. But the aft cabin Dutch steel cruisers are soooo much better than sedans like this one, giving accommodation both ends of the boat, and crucially outside steering and a great view from the aft deck. I would hate to inside all day with the noisy engine beneath the cabin sole. I had 14 years of my Curtevenne 960AK and almost never used the inside steering position even in bad weather.

That is a lovely yacht, just the right size for a couple. Nice finishes and a good layout with lots of space. Great tour Hugo thank you.

Thanks for that excellent tour Hugo, looks a lovely well made, rugged and practical craft. If I was in the market for a river boat I think this would be a good option but with the aft cabin option.

Considering all you get, that's quite competitively priced. Always been a fan of Linssen. Thanks Hugo!

Very nice , as usual from Linssen. I would probably veer toward the aft cabin version. Great price too compared to some of the high speed plastic palaces. Each to his or her own though. Some sound proofing in the form of a sound insulated box around the engine might be useful. The engine is sitting in a steel cavern which might reverberate a bit. No chance of a sea trial?

I'd think having that cockpit storage door would be easier accessed if it were hinged the other direction. Doesn't seem as likely you'd be storing things going inside the boat in there as things used in the cockpit and other places outside.

Gosh Hugo, I did not expect a Linssen review. Forgive me, but you missed a couple of features... The salon seating has a very simple 'easy sleep' function whereby it slides out to provide an occasional berth for guests.. .or for me when I have had a few. Also towards the rear of the salon, there is a lovely little drawer full of Linssen glassware. After years of research we chose a Linssen SL as our river boat, ergonomically it is perfect for weekend escapes or messing about for a day with friends.. The quality of construction and thoughtful design features are a joy to be around. The SL design attracts an awful lot of admiring comments at the lock, jetty or marina too. As always great review Hugo!

I see the appeal. Wouldn't work for a lot of people though. Most people that enjoy boating, do it as a social bonding thing. This appeals to the retired or stay at home boaters with no kids and enjoy putting around the bays and harbors. Ideally for a lot of people but if you want to invite kids or grandkids, even friends along, you can't. But maybe this is the boat you take from your house in Palm Grove to your house in Nassau and along the way, you stop and spend the night. Especially since you are going 8 knots.

I presume if you time it well you can cross the channel in this. If you have enough water under you - sadly now a thing - you can noodle along to from Normandy to the Black Sea to Constantinople in this. Go from the Med to the Baltic. Visit Stockholm and Rome in the same year. You can't really do that here in the US.

    • @hugoandreae3785
      @hugoandreae3785 Před 6 měsíci

Absolutely, it will chug across the Channel just fine on a calm day.

beautiful boats and great quality! But the interior design is always like something from the 50's, very old fashioned and dull, like they forgot to do it and quickly ask a local carpenter to put something in.

In my time boating, the action of doors, drawers, etc. has a big impact on user experience so I like seeing it. I did laugh at the refrigerator but as we see, he had permission for that.
