Forget about the rules like hand-checking and 3 seconds in lane, Jordan was putting up insane numbers in an era with some of the greatest perimeter defenders all-time (Moncrief, Rodman, Alvin Robertson, Michael Cooper, Gary Payton, Joe Dumars, Dennis Johnson) and some of the greatest rim protectors all-time (Hakeem, David Robinson, Mutombo, Mourning, Eaton, Rollins, Parish). It wouldn't be fair if he played today. Black Jesus would be killin'em and not even worry about reviving any of them like Lazarus.

His motor and conditioning were top tier, he loved to score, he already took a shit ton of difficult shots on high efficiency while being doubled and tripled every time he drove, he finished through any amount of contact, he’s more athletic than 99.999% of players ever, he was a master at the most unguardable shot in todays game( the mid range), u can’t breath on him without getting a foul call, he takes a few more threes on average splits of 33/34% like bron and Kobe, and u give him a team with hella spacing like harden had in 2018. Yeah that’s an easy 40 a game. No one can guard the midrange because of how spaced the floor is, so if ur a good mid range shooter u easily shred defense apart. The only thing he would have to get used to is zone defense but given that he has ample shooters around that won’t be much of a problem adjusting too for him. Yeah he would torch todays game. They would have to patch him. Hell go watch how d wade used to torch guys in his prime and he was a MUCH worse shooter and still averaged 30. So what u think MJ doing.

Consider that Alonzo and Shaq, who give their opinions in this video, were centers who were great shot blockers and paint protectors and MJ scored 50+ against them.
MJ scored 52 against Alonzo and 64 against Shaq. We don't have centers like them today.

I think with the rule changes Michael would average a triple double.
30-10-10 he was such a smart player he would take advantage of more open three-point shooters and have more space to crash the boards for put backs.

nobody protecting the basket, no hand checking, no hard fouls. Jordan would probably get close to 30 on dunks alone

MJ would easily score whatever he wanted...if he wanted 40 he'd get it...if he wanted to show off, he'd get 50+....with today's no-touch-a-all league and his insane explosive first step, he'd blow by anyone trying to guard him and finish over ANYONE (and i repeat, ANYONE) at the rim...and that doesn't take into account his trash talk that would get people out of their game before he even touched the ball...this man was the ultimate all around player...no one is as "across-the-board" as he was....and no Lebron isn't even a comparison...he only has longevity on his side to pile up total stats...give MJ (and even Bird and others) 40yrs of exercise and medical advancements and stick them in this no-touch league and they'd dominate the current NBA easily.

Heads will never realize just how quick MJ's first step was off dribble or jab unless they saw him in person. A lot different from watching on TV. The guy was an alien. Like nothing I have ever witnessed, and I've been watching this game since 1980.

@@chrisshaw6200 You mean Larry and the other FOUR hall-of-famers. After the first time Bird met Jordan in the NBA he told a Boston Globe reporter "that guy is gonna be the greatest player ever, you watch." Larry didn't only become a legend, he also became a prophet.

Wasn’t he averaging 23 ppg as a 40 year old with the Wizards. 40-50 easily if he was in his prime in this era. No question about it.

Michael Jordan had five seasons where he was retired before his final retirement in 2002/2003. If Michael Jordan played all of those five seasons that he would have had 43,000 points. The only reason there's even a discussion in the goat debate is because Michael Jordan took time off

  • @pvthurley

Jordan wouldn’t need to shoot 3s. He’d just get and-1 every dunk. Imagine if he drove 30 times (which is doable now) that’s just 60 points. He’s going to get fouled at least 5-10 times (because some would be fast breaks where he is alone). That’s 65-70 points…
Let’s not forget how awesome he was defensively because that can be easily overlooked due to his offensive ability. How many players had a season where they had 200 steals and 100 blocks on top of being their teams best scorer?

Forget about 3 point shooting even if he didnt change anything about his game just think how many more free throws he would get a game now that you cant even breath on someone

    Old school
3 was to win the game or catch up.
    Not an actual offense
Big men center's and power forward down low. Rebounds and put backs.
Center's played back to the basketball. Most bigs couldn't make 3s . They never practiced those really. Bc they are under rim. Some could like Hakeem and Bill Lambier center for Bad Boy pistons
