      @@roundtable3501 yes, he was vicious on defense and swarmed the court with Pippen, and still had 95% of the first step quickness of his first few years during this season. People don’t realize how unstoppable he was here and honestly for the several years before this; his team like Scottie just wasn’t as developed yet then. Once Pippen hit his stride as an all-star the Bulls were a juggernaut. Jordan was a tad slower by ‘93 but the team was totally firing on all cylinders.

      95-96 was a really amazing year for him though. Some say his best year ever. That was the year he practiced like crazy in the summer and came back for redemption and just dominated. Overall though, he was better in his first 3 peat for sure. He didn't even win the mvp in 96-97, and Malone deserved it too that year. I'm only old enough to have seen his 2nd 3 peat. Kobe was the closest when it comes to style but Kobe didnt have the quickness we see in this vid and any others of MJ from 1985-93. MJ 1985-1993 had the sudden burst and 1st step quickness usually only displayed by guards who are 6'3" or smaller...Kobe was never as quick as MJ...MJs handles before retiring to play baseball were also exceptionally well honed he could split traps off the dribble as effectively as any PG who has ever played the game...Those double clutch short-midrange leaners fadeaways runners and floaters are absolutely ridiculous hes impossible to defend and is making shots most humans cant even attempt let alone make even in a pickup game I love Larry Bird and Magic and can never understate how valuable theyd be to any NBA franchise in any era due to their all around skills their ability to make all their teammates better their leadership and their uncanny knack for coming thru in big moments and at the end of games but MJ is simply the best Ive ever seen...At his peak he was the best defensive player Ive seen at the position and offensively its ignorant to compare any others to him favorably because absolutely no 1 was on his level. Wilt and Shaq were men among boys at times because of their size athleticism combo but he is a man among boys without any size edge it is 100% based on athletic excellence/bball skill-Chuck Daily made it clear that MJ was embarrassing the rest of the league with how good he was...I am grateful for having witnessed MJs career as closely as I did...
      IMO, theres only 1 other athlete of my lifetime who's provided more joy to his fans-a certain QB currently in Tampa Bay, already has more SB rings than any NFL franchise has won and has tallied merely 3fewer playoff wins over the last 2decades than any NFL franchise has won since 1958...

      That doesn’t even exist in today’s nba. Everybody’s always flipping and twitching and finding their arms,hitting their dismount flop when they miss a shot or barely get touched while they’re shooting lol.
      Defenses against MJ were constantly making contact with him on like every play in his career.

    Prime Jordan was 1987-1991. Although his skill set increased afterwards, especially in his return comeback season of 72 wins in 1995-96, as an individual player his true prime was during 87-91. He was so much faster, and would always drive to the lane and finish, unless fouled. He was UNSTOPPABLE! Dunking on everybody, from long distances, and also able to shoot from anywhere, with the fastest first step. Only Allen Iverson was faster in first step and beating players off the dribble. Jordan was so damn FAST in his athletic prime, that he did NOT need to shoot from post too much, but instead drove the lane, and dunked on everyone! His SPEED was phenomenal, and leaping ability > 48" inches vertical, with the extra hang-time that earned him the title "AIR" Jordan. * Anyone who says Lerbon is the GOAT, has NOT watched Jordan in his prime!

      I noticed a lot of people have 95-96 MJ as the best MJ. In terms of accomplishments I see what they mean. That was like the perfect season for Jordan in terms of accomplishments. 90-91 is the season that his athleticism, skills and everything came together almost perfectly. 88 he was the most dominant and athletic in terms of playing against. I mean he's had so many awesome seasons that you can make an argument for a lot of them. Every season of his career was good, obviously he was injured his 2nd season and that didn't go well for him, but even then he came back in the playoffs and scored 63 for the record in Boston garden in the playoffs.

    In the1991 playoffs the Bulls only lost two games. One to the Sixers on a late game winning shot in the semifinals round and one to the Lakers also a late game winning shot in game one of the Finals. That's how close the 91 Bulls wee to sweeping through the playoffs.

    The GOAT debate is pretty silly when you consider the two factors that most sports use to compare players ie statistics and accolades. I mean, what else is there? With these you determine who was the most impactful on their chosen sporting field and who won the most in that sport. In basketball terms, we use advanced metrics to aggregate box score statistics and official NBA accolades to determine what and how much players win.
    So let's start with those stats, the four major advanced metrics which can be applied to multiple eras are BPM, VORP, Win Shares & PER. VORP & Win Shares are cumulative stats so we need to break them down to per-game numbers because, the last time I checked, per game dominance leads to winning which leads to championships, career totals simply reflect longevity. Nobody won a championship because they broke a career points or rebounds record but plenty of players have won because they produced at an elite level on a nightly basis. Now, there is one player in all of NBA history who leads each and every one of these metrics on a per game basis, in BOTH the regular season and playoffs, and his name is Michael Jordan. He is the most statistically impactful player of all time.
    Onto accolades. Michael Jordan also tops the list of all the official NBA accolades a player can win or be awarded. He won 70 throughout his career. Kareem comes in a close second with 69. LeBron has 62 in his 20 seasons. Jordan picked up 2 of his as a Wizard, the rest were received as a Chicago Bull. He played 13 seasons there but two were shortened by injury and retirement which made him ineligible for most of these accolades. This means that in just 11 full seasons he collected 68 official accolades, over 6 per season. LeBron is going along at a rate of 3 per season. So Michael Jordan was collecting accolades at TWICE the rate in which LeBron has collected them. That is simply ridiculous. Michael Jordan won more than anybody else and did it at a rate which far outshines his nearest rivals.
    So, MJ is #1 statistically and #1 in terms of winning. Yet some people are convinced that LeBron James is the greater player. Given the above, that notion is utterly absurd....

    • @billj4525
      @billj4525 Před 6 měsíci

      You can't always go by who has more accolades though. I mean there is definitely luck to getting accolades, and if you were to run the seasons back the same way things can change. You can use accolades as a metric, but just because one player has more accolades than another player doesn't mean he's necessarily better. It depends though, when a player has way more accolades then it's safe to say luck didn't play a part and he has them because he's better. MJ is the GOAT and better than Lebron in my opinion, but I was just making a point. I do think Lebron is great and one of the GOAT, but MJ to me is the GOAT and just absolutely unbelievable. A lot of people use longevity as Lebron argument, and Lebron does have the GOAT longevity, but that's only a very small metric when trying to determine who the GOAT is. Jordan wins by the important ones like you mentioned.

      I agree. It's unbelievable to see idiots disrespecting him. People really shouldn't even be disrespecting Lebron, not if they're real hardcore fans at least. You have to respect the greats, they're unbelievable. Jordan was the GOAT by far though, and just completely next level. Disrespecting him is just pathetic. You have to Love MJ.
