BJP swept odisha because of pandian. Now he isn't in politics. So BJP definitely can't repeat it in 2024.
In Andhra winds change in every 5 years. So 2029 tough for NDA.
In Telangana it's BJP vs Congress when it comes to national election. So I don't think BJP will lose anything there.
And most importantly UP, Maharashtra. In both states dalits in some extend left BJP because of Constitution issue. Will that narrative change or not. That will be the biggest question. Karnataka BJP is winning near 20 seats since 2004.
And in Punjab for akali and in TN flr ADMK BJP is more important. Without BJP and it's votes they can't form government in the state.

Power, power and power that's all that is spoken about in this 10 minute monologue but not a single sentence on how this power is used to benefit our country. Use of words like "tadka" by him to describe Parliamentary sessions, (where sadly, ruckus, screaming and theatrics have come to dominate), actually sounds like the media would actually prefer to have (and promote) these type of theatrics rather than productive Parliamentary sessions where the future of our country is decided. That's the issue with media, all focused on power for those they support and for self, all the while giving a free pass to those faithful & close to their own ideology. Be strong, be honest, be un-hyphenated.

@@Siddharth_Rao I like to hear old men reciting old Bollywood dialogues dramatically, in the Parliament. According to union govt, paper leak is not paper leak, farmers are not farmers, jawans are not jawans, pm is not human
It's hypocrisy to use PLMA law to target opponents without evidence, & talking about sins of emergency while trying to divert from their own sins today. The new criminal law (BNS), suppose to remove colonial past, contains draconian provisions that reinforces a colonial mindset. The ultimate hypocrisy is that the govt has prohibited the use of the 'hypocrisy' word in the parliament.
Let's learn from history, the first country germany invaded was their own, read the night of broken glass (kristallnacht) fighting within their own party for Power. Let's not follow a party where everything is friend or foe, who is obsessed about internal traitors, & label students & farmers as being antinational at the slightest opposition. The question is that how long will the INDIA bloc last? Samajwadi Party and TMC and Congress are all dependent on the same vote bank, this matters more in state elections and it is 100% likely that SP and TMC will leave this bloc as soon as state elections are near and even AAP which is already showing signs. sure they got good no of seats but media is overplaying the Congress achivements, the BJP is still very strong, The BJP alone has more seats than INDIA bloc plus now that they have lost a lot of seats they will be more carefull in the next election. The current Lok Sabha is the 18th one.
Question: Of these 18 Lok Sabha elections, which one was the Indian National Congress's worst performance?
Answer: The 16th Lok Sabha election in 2014, when the INC got 44 MPs.
Question: Which was the INC's second worst performance among the 18 elections?
Answer: The 17th Lok Sabha election in 2019, when the INC got 52 MPs.
Question: Which was the INC's third worst performance among the 18 elections?
Answer: The 18th Lok Sabha election in 2024, when the INC got 99 MPs.
Question: Can the Indian National Congress ever again, in any Lok Sabha election, get 200 MPs elected?
Answer: No, never again will the INC have 200 Lok Sabha MPs.
The fault does not lie with Rahul Gandhi. Egregious political decisions taken by Smt. Indira Gandhi and Sri. Rajiv Gandhi hollowed out the INC and weakened it permanently. Bad decisions forced upon Smt. Sonia Gandhi (splitting Andhra Pradesh, for eg.) further undermined it, and has reduced the INC to a historical relic.

@@KiNGKuNTa986 "Without Naveen Patnaik's decimation in Odisha, BJP wouldn't have formed a government."
Yes, but Naveen Patnaik WAS decimated. It was the BJP that did the decimation. There once was a time when the Indian National Congress ruled Odisha, and captured the majority of Lok Sabha seats. Where is the INC in Odisha these days, pray tell?
From 2 MPs in 1984 to 240 MPs now, the BJP has consistently gained strength. THAT WAS (AND IS) DUE TO INTELLIGENT POLICIES, GOOD LEADERSHIP, HARD WORK, AND ADAPTATION TO CHANGING CIRCUMSTANCES. And it is exactly these things that the INC lacks.
Jeremy Corbyn led the Labour Party to defeat in the UK -- the party removed him from the top position (now he is out of the party as well). Rishi Sunak led the Conservative Party to defeat -- and was duly removed from the top position of the party. Margaret Thatcher, John Major, Tony Blair etc... were all heads of their respective parties, but removed from the apex once they became liabilities.
Contrast that with Rahul Gandhi's INC. Whether it is 44, 52 or 99 MPs, however dismal the performance of the INC, leadership of the party is Rahul's family inheritance. No Congressman -- who wants to remain in the INC -- dares even whisper "change in leadership." The state of the INC organization is pathetic and it is incorrigible.
Don't build fantasies based on a small bump in one election. Open your eyes and look at the true state of affairs. There is only one way for the INC to achieve political resurrection -- ditch family rule for ever. How much probability do you attach to that outcome? I rest my case!

Let's get to the facts first. Three successive defeats and under 100 seats. 20 years in public politics, without any concrete policies. If this NOT failure, then what is failure ?
It's usually khata khat policy (whose spectacular failure is visible in Karnataka where even Congress MLAs are unhappy as the MLA development fund they got under BJP government is ZERO today), case based politics (reservation), narrative that constitution is in danger, wealth re-distribution, alliance in UP/Maharashtra, that allowed Congress to get some 40 seats.
All of these failed in Karnataka, Telangana (did not get as much success as assembly election) with some success in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, UP (all due to BJP's mistakes). Unless BJP makes huge mistakes and huge internal struggle for power (in post Modi), it's unlikely, Congress will not get lot more success than it did today.
By the way, I think, Rahul would find it next to impossible to manage a PM position (should he become one). He has in his life thus far, has NOT shown any willingness to listen, adapt, maturity.

When the BJP was in opposition it had won
    121 seats in 1991,
    138 seats in 2004,
116 seats in 2009 but still remained grounded. The Congress with a tally of 99 lower than what BJP used to win as opposition is simply rejoicing as if it had come to power. 😂
The BJP's tally had come down from 115 in 2012 to 99 in 2017 (Gujarat), 165 in 2013 to 109 in 2018 (Madhya Pradesh), 49 in 2013 to 15 in 2018 (Chhattisgarh) and theories of Congress revival was floated.
5 years later, the BJP went from 99 in 2017 to 156 in 2022 (Gujarat), 109 in 2018 to 163 (Madhya Pradesh), and winning back Chhattisgarh despite tall claims by most media houses that Bhupesh Baghel is popular in Chhattisgarh and Congress will win easily.
This is not to say Congress may not revive, it will revive only if it works 365 days. The irrational exuberance of default winning due to running close to BJP and interpreting that time woud come in next 5 years is the most dangerous thing to do for Congress as was the case in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh

BJP had won 114/545 in 2009 which is 21% (ONLY!) but in 2014 they got 282 seats.Congress got only 2 seats in 75 seats in 5 states (Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh) and did not sweep any state. Congress can come to 140 seats if they do average in those 5 states.

Congress not even contested 547 seats... If congress can get 140 seats it will make govt, so nothing to worry.

Rahul Gandhi is a seedha - sadha , bhola bhala gentleman politician . He is superb but suffering with inferiority or superiority complex . but modi ji is fantabulous , fantastico , energetic and amazing politician , a great leader .
Govt. And opposition should work together with respect and harmony among each other and should focus on the issues of people of india - education , employment , health, sports, trade, tourism, progress, poverty eradication , unite india , social welfare & justice .( Hate , jealousy and envy among paksh and vipaksh will lead to failure and poverty and nothing can be achieve .)
Smooth functioning of parliament is need of the hour .

I'm sure he is not a person to much obsessed with power which is a good thing (obsession with power corrupted a leader)......if he can understand politics well he can be a person like atal bihari vajpayee sir i believe

Shekhar, old men like you and Narendra Modi should reflect upon themselves. Times up, in years, you will hit 70s and Modi will be Biden. Hope your cognitive powers will be working when Mr. Gandhi will be triumphing back as PM of the country. Times are changing, alas yours are limited.

Did congress did well at hustings on its own? Or just floated on others support? Do our nonfunctional parliament influence peoples choice. In last ten years how much productive each session have been? If not why? Now since Rahul behaves like a bar bouncer will anything change? I dont think so. Have BJP been effective in ruling efficiently? I dont think so inspite being a BJP supporter. Should BJP survive and rule? A Big yes. Can the caste arithmetic that helped Akilesh in UP can be countered by BJP? Yes if BJP values its workers and MLA s. Will it happen? Doubtful knowing how BJP HC behaves now. Will Rahul excel? I doubt as he is not at all politically smart

Rahul is young and has a long time to go before he will think of hanging up his boots in politics. He should wait till Modi era is over by 2034 and then he can pounce on the opportunity to be PM by 2039. Once Modi retires, one term for BJP PM, whether it is Yogi or Amit Shah, is sure but thereafter Rahul has a good chance. By that time, India's population would have changed decisively in favor of minorities too, giving Congress a big advantage. Hope he does not mess up and try to be aggressive now. Modi is a smart politician and can turn tables Rahul in no time. People like Shekhar Gupta should advise him sanity,
