Hi Shekhar, I can not say this applies to Xi Jinping, but it applies to China and it is very easy to explain why China's opinion is favorable with younger and liberal generation in the West. There are a lot more Chinese workers and business leaders in the big cities, and especially Bay Area. When you have lunch and socializing with Chinese on a daily basis, it is very hard to have a different perspective on the country China. In contrast, the older and middle America does not meet that many Chinese so that have a different perspective. Over time as Chinese, and South Asians, and others move to the interiors, of course perception can change for middle America too, but it is also possible it gets into negativity since you can easy rabble rouse scared majority that they at the brink of extinction. You know how it works. Anyways, hopefully it clarifies or at least provides one perspective on how the numbers can vary widely within the same country.

Scepticism against Xi is good but still India needs to balance its relationship with china as well. Especially economic relationship. We need diversified investment from everywhere. America is increasing its pressure on India day by day using different tactics and west will stick together with USA stance apart from France maybe. Pakistan will act as a puppet to US through its military. Hopefully we are able to somehow restore ties with China, over dependence on US will have its own problems.

I wonder if the French hard right voter will not feel cheated upon by this move and work hard in the next parliamentary and presedential elections to ensure that all right wing voters band up so as to ensure a victory for the right.
