On today's episode of Homeworthy we’re taking you to rural Georgia to meet Lesley and Sam Graham who a few years ago uprooted their lives -- they sold their dream house and left their hometown of 40 years to acquire a sprawling 35 acre fixer upper property that they have been transforming into their family compound! Nice to see the husband. Husbands can be part of the process too. I felt like I was a guest in their home, invited over after church for some barbeque and the house tour just unfolded organically.

Beautiful home and beautiful couple who really seem well matched. I love all shades of green so this was right up my street. Was lovely to hear their life and home stories. My eyes teared up when they showed the piano, and his mum's hand stitched stool.
This is one of Homeworthy's BEST videos-- the home, and the couple, are all lovely! I have a similar shade of green on the trim of my home-- I feel so hip now! LOL

The kitchen is incredible! The vaulted ceiling and the darker wood shelves in the all white space is perfect. The island with the marble top.... love, love, love! Mixed nuts and frozen waffles ... yes please. But a man who makes me tacos and homemade bread is like hitting the lottery! THe bedroom is so nice but needs art or color.... so I was doing a happy dance when she said she wants to do wallpaper!!!! Yes!!! Matchstick blinds and heavy curtain rods.... oh my, I can see it now!
How can she not cook in that kitchen?! 🤯🤦🏻♀️

Hesitant to click on this video because it really didn't seem my kind of place, but after the walk-through and the way you both describe the thought processes that went into it, I'm hooked. You are so blessed to have the pieces you do that have belonged to family members and friends. Pieces that mean something and have emotional attachments. I really liked seeing the rugs throughout which has changed my view of aged, multi-color and ethnic carpets. The space you've created is terrific. I must mention the watercolor paintings by your late grandfather: They are just beautiful and personally would love to see more. And one more thing is the way the two of you are so simpatico. It's lovely to see. Thank you for the tour!

i watched this episode with my husband. I think my husband regretted it, lol. This man can do ANYTHING! Cooks, bakes, is a musician, all kinds of home improvement projects....when he said he was a leather worker too, my husband said "Of course he is!" :)

I love this!! We sold our home in Fl and moved to N Ga three years ago. We now have 5 acres (surrounded by national forest) in the country and have remodeled our home, built a guesthouse, and are working on our gardens and vineyard. I feel a total connection to the enthusiasm this couple exudes about the life they’ve chosen. Their home and property is gorgeous!

You’re big cast iron people but you soak your cast iron?!?!?! Noooooo 🤦🏼♀️😂. But they seem very reasonable and down to earth. I love what they did to the house and kudos to them for doing as much as they could for themselves. I love this so much more than excessive big fancy Dallas homes and teeny tiny city apartments. This is the dream to have land like this for my BF and myself but also a comfortable beautiful home. Gardens and chickens would follow.

Well I enjoyed the home very much. Lovely couple as well. I think the one object I got the biggest kick out of was the master bedroom rug. I had a "I'm not the only one" moment because I'd definitely want/prefer a quality older rug even if it had some holes in it than modern lower quality rug. Something very satisfying about having something that has a history to it. Your mind can't help wander as to its story. Enjoy your home & thanks for sharing.

Unique, really interesting house and story.
Love this fresh, happy home! Lots of room to breathe. Beautiful views from beautiful windows. One thing I noticed in the kitchen is the draw pulls on the waist high drawers and cabinets... I'm living with something similar and catch my clothing on them constantly jerking me to a sudden stop-n-spill. Bathrobes, housedresses, and anything that buttons up like button-front skirts and dresses, always catch on those darn cute knobbies. Usually while I'm carrying something hot in a cup, bowl, or plate. That being said, Lesley and Sam have the perfect kitchen! Those talls cupboards are awesome. (BTW. My favorite tour by far for the people, the place, and their philosophy!)

I think this house is here by our house. We live in a rural area of GA about hr from Atlanta, where our family is from, and we have a farm . During cvid so many people moved out this way , now any land that comes up for sale a Mc mansion is built on it and all look the same, and so I love all our older homes and fixing them up.We have been buying up homes around us for our families' future and our children . They did a nice job , I appreciate when people keep the feel and character of the old home instead of make it just all new looking. We have several homes here that have been in magazines or pintrest or shows. The stone houses here are almost gone and would be nice to keep stone in someway. Here at Callaway and Roosevelt park is about it that's left with it. I'm happy for them, and nice to see this pop up in suggestions.

I use Rev-a-Shelf for cabinets for 75 pounds of China, and my CAST IRON!! If you get an autoharp children can play with it. Linda Lovelace, Maybelle Carter’s family, including Johnny Cash and children, and then also Dolly Parton, Bob Dylan and me, we all play autoharp! Are you going to put a bench and rocking chairs in the music room? I love checkerboard!

Sam, I couldn't agree more. I love for our meals to fix in one bowl. We have a set of IKEA shallow, but wide bowls taht we use everyday! I found one at at shrift store and loved it so much, that my youngest found more on ebay and gifted them to me. LOVE Eyour HOME. The books case is INSPIRING ! We also keep a birds nest we found in our yard on a shelf. Tour home is wall to wall personal and ahs so much character. Great job guys!

From being a teenager I vowed I’d build my own house. Wherever I traveled to, I’d always buy tiles which would one day go in my “House”. Here I am at 71 and tiles I bought in Amsterdam (Delft) are in the master bath shower. Scottish ones are in the guest bath and kitchen. Enjoy your stunning Dutch tiles around the fireplace. You have amazing taste though I’ll be honest, I’m puzzled about the bows. To each his own, just be happy. 👏💕👏💕

I like your kitchen layout and the open shelves are killer. That amazing pot filler would be great next to the coffee center. The upper cabinets are high enough so the bean grinder doesn't have to be pulled out to open and fill it. Whatever looks functional looks good. If something looks disfunctional that creates tension in the mind. p.s Fido wants a chaise lounge, lol. 😎 G.
