The Fool On The Hill (Beatles cover)

For your listening and viewing enjoyment, I give you my re-creation of the Beatles song “The Fool On The Hill” from the album “Magical Mystery Tour”. I’m so happy to have finally put this video together. Some of the audio and video was recorded over 10 years ago!
Interesting to note that there is no bass in this song. That role is taken by the piano and the bass harmonica.
In addition to the main piano heard throughout the song, there is a celeste played during the choruses, as well as a brighter sounding upright piano heard right after the first recorder solo (on the original, it’s most likely the “Mrs. Mills” Steinway Vertegrand).
During the choruses, you can hear what I believe might be a set of finger cymbals on the original song. I don’t own a pair of finger cymbals, and those that I’ve tried out all sounded too heavy. I opted instead to hit a single pair of jingles on a tambourine, using a small hex key to strike them. This sounded closer to what is on the original, to my ears.
For the recorder-playing purists out there: Yes, I know that I’m not using proper recorder fingering (as is also evidenced by the intonation being slightly off during the solos). However, by practicing along with the original song, I found the fingering that Paul McCartney used (a simplified, and intuited fingering).
The tape effect heard toward the end of the song (around 2:41) was created by recording some electric guitar notes onto an open-reel tape recorder. The tape speed was then quadrupled, while manipulating the reels to create fluctuations in playback speed.
Special thanks to my friend Dave Foster for the use of his acoustic 12-string guitar. Also special thanks to my friends Mark Stewart and Rob Schwimmer for the use of their Hohner 48-Chord Harmonica. (They also lent me a bass harmonica, but I didn’t use it for this video, as it was the single-note version, as opposed to the octave-doubled model. I’ve since acquired my own 48-Chord harmonica and octave-doubled bass harmonica.)
As usual, I'm playing and singing all the parts. What you see in this video are the actual performances as I recorded them. There is no "lip-syncing" or miming. Enjoy! - Hudba

It's all the little touches I love so much about this channel. Like on his Michelle cover, where he even complies with the way the guitar solo on the original record is awkwardly cut at the end. Easy to miss those little touches - the things all us Beatle nuts have heard millions of times over and are ingrained in the fabric of the music!
It exists a book which explains with all the detail the instruments and the scores of each Beatles' song.

I do not agree that ALL covers by Andrew sound as "originals"... After all, most of singers have not only their style but their unique VOICE as well. We can always hear when it is John who sings alone or it is Paul. Andrew's GIRL is sung in Andrews VOICE. Which is totally normal in cover versions. Yet his DARLING is so close to the original that in some comments they wrote that Andrew's singing can be banned by CZcams as the unauthorised reproduction of the Beatles ORIGINAL And that is the best compliment to Andrew's singing of this very hard song in its high pitch part. Indeed I was greatly impressed by Andrew's DARLING cover.
