The showrunner wrote the Jason Bourne series for film, along with Rogue One. Yea...this is gonna be legendary.
He was also nominated for best director and best original screenplay for Michael Clayton. See that if you haven't, it is excellent.
Jadon’s my favorite character.
Is that so? Sweet!
Ah yes, Jadon Bourne….son of Karen…..
I never did like that Jadon.
This is EXACTLY what I've been waiting for. Rogue One's production team is outstanding, Star Wars has never looked better.
Love Jay teasing Adam about trying to prep and plan an "And Or" joke, all while a majority of us watched Adam spend 10 minutes trying to do a perfect dab on stream.
This has the potential to be the best of the Disney+ series, can't wait
This has the potential to be one of the best shows of this year
This show looks amazing. I'm super pumped for it.
Also, while Disney hasn't said it, I think they pushed it back so it wouldn't conflict with the heavy August line-up (She-Hulk, House of Dragons and LOTR) and to show the first 3 episodes as an advanced screening at D23 in early September
Almost definitely. I think they realized their faults in releasing obi wan and ms marvel at the same time so even though there will be an overlap it’ll be much less
This strangely gives me Blade Runner 2049 vibes. I think maybe it's the color palette and the feel of the more rural areas shown. By that measure alone, it's worth a watch,
And the electronic sound transitions
I was thinking the same thing. It's like it's Star Wars via Villeneuve. The colour palette and dialogue intensity give that feel, but more than anything, I think it's the music and sound design.
This entire cast is stellar. I keep forgetting Stellan Skarsgard is going to be in this, and every time I’m reminded I am delighted all over again. Nevermind Fiona Shaw (the crying woman in the trailer), Anton Lesser, Ben Miles…it’s gonna be good.
Man Forrest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera is FLAWLESS casting
Awesome: "My hope is that we don't see hide-nor-hair of a lightsaber" -agreed, this show has to rest on it's own strengths (no cameos, no "unfinished business") and I couldn't be more excited 😁
Wasn’t the lady who gives Rey the lightsaber in here or did I imagine it
@@earlgendron4893 There's someone who looks like they're the same race, but I think the one in this trailer is male. And had four arms, which Maz Kanata didn't have
So yes, I though Mando would be a show without jedi ... turned out Filloni was bored so nope for that show XD
Palpatine is definitely in it
Never agreed with you guys more than on this ~ you said everything I've been thinking about Andor since the first teaser. No lightsabers, no cameos, just dirt's eye view of the Empire and the Rebellion ~ real people; grit, guile, and guts.
Excited for this world building adventure
There are a few cameos that would make sense...Jimmy Smits, even young Leia, live action Rebels characters, but I agree...leave the Jedi out of it, though could you imagine the shock of a Mace Windu cameo perhaps carrying a young Grogu...but it wouldn't likely be "necessary" and would be done likely just to push viewership for an episode.
I’m just glad we’re going back to Coruscant and visiting the Imperial Senate.
I have to assume the delay comes from the show originally being smushed right in between House of the Dragon and Rings of Power, as well as coming onto the scene only 2 weeks into She-Hulk's run. This gives it more time to exist on its own now
Yeah, late August/early September was looking ridiculously over-crowded, much like May and June were. I kinda wish House of the Dragon had gone earlier and started in late June or July. Then She-Hulk and LotR would be more spaced out from it. And with school starting in late August/early September, a lot of people are gonna be more busy around that time... might impact viewership a bit. I'm not sure why this time was so popular for all the streaming services aiming to release major shows. Traditionally, television waits until mid-to-late September to start seasons for a reason, and movies don't typically release in late August, because everybody's in full on "squeeze out the last drops of summer" mode that immediately transitions into "back to school" mode. But July was prime real estate, IMO, with the only major thing that came out being Thor: Love and Thunder early in the month. Usually a big movie releases around the third week of July, but the biggest we got this year was NOPE. Around mid July would have been the best time to premiere House of the Dragon, IMO.
I agree with you both so much! I want NO CAMEOS, NO JEDIS, and to see what the EMPIRE does to the PEOPLE (normal people) in their everyday life that they would risk EVERYTHING to get rid of it. Loved you reactions ♥
Really gives me WW2 vibes, local resistance fighters against the Germans. Which I'm sure they are pulling from a lot as Lucas originally pulled the name Storm Troopers and the dog fight styles.
The only surprise cameos I want are Hera and The Ghost crew.
"Embrace Your Inner Power" should be some sort of t-shirt
So excited to see Coruscant during the Empire years
I watched a Fanfilm recently and there is a Very interesting dialogue between a Rebel soldier and a Storm Trooper. The Rebel accuses the Empire saying that they enslave the planets and that they destroyed Alderan, the trooper replied saying that his home planet was a mess and the Empire restaured order and security to It, and that not every soldier of the Empire agreed with the destruction of Alderan and worse that the Rebels are not better, because when they destroyed the Death Star, thousands of civillian workers and their families also died.
Damn that sounds so interesting. This level of complexities on both sides is what I'm here for. The OG Star Wars trilogy was a simple good vs evil story, and theres nothing wrong with that. That's what they set out to do.
The prequels tried to include politics and create more complex conflicts to blur that line of good/evil a little bit and failed. The Clone Wars series helped fill in those holes and succeed where the prequels failed. Now to see them tackle the OG timeline again, I'm excited to see them bring those complexities to this war. The Empire altho made up of alot of fked up powerhungry individuals, there are those who didn't agree with it. But they did what they could to survive and live a normal life. Would be awesome to humanize the empire alot more instead of being this simple grand threat that should be taken down cos "they're evil."
In war.. there’s no black and white… both sides have heros and villians… that’s war.. unless you’re CAP.. he’s all Hero!
Lol, Alderaan was a planet full of civilians with no weapons. The Death Star was a military base full of military personnel who were active participants in the destruction Alderaan. You don't get to throw a punch and then complain that someone hits you back.
These are not the same.
As soon as I saw the 3-episode release announcement, all I could picture was your reaction and the two of you saying something like, "Oh god... we're so boned!" LOL Another great reaction, guys!
rogue one is my fav star wars movie so i hope they can bring that real raw feeling to this as well
“It’s really dark down here..” 🤣
Guys. I just realised that nowadays I don't watch trailers alone. I only ever watch them with you guys. Thank you
You know what I love the most about this trailer ? I have no freaking idea what the exact plot is going to be
This series looks awesome and am totally looking forward to it.
As one once said, "The Empire improves every system it touches. Judge by any metric. Safety, prosperity, trade, opportunity, peace"
If not for all the loss of freedoms and oppression of the people the Empire would be great.
Civilian disappearances
This looks amazing! I don't know why but this little lip twitch from Saw Gerrera when he says "let's call it ... war" is so amazing.
Also is it possible that Fiona Shaw plays an older Mon Mothma? I got the vibe of an older Mon Mothma when I saw her!
You guys don’t have to respond to this. In fact, I don’t expect you to. But your reactions bring so much joy. Thanks for all the laughs, the tears and everything in between. As a Star Wars fan with few friends to share my enjoyment of the franchise with, your reaction videos almost make it feel as if I am watching it alongside close friends. Although you have no idea who I am and that’s kind of awkward. But thank you nonetheless!
Do As Thou Wilt Shall Be The Whole of the Force. Power Is the Force, Power Under Will. - The 3rd Annual Sith Bakesale flyer, probably.
Internet: 3 episodes in one day! 😁
Adam: 3 episodes in one day? 😭
I had almost completely forgotten about this show. I remember it being announced 4 or 5 years ago, not long after Rogue One came out. Hopefully they've used their time wisely and the show ends up being just as good as the movie that spawned it. That's a high bar to clear, but if any team can do it, it's this one.
"Why do they call it the dark side?"
Adam leans back grinning.
"Would you like to borrow my shovel?"
That crying old woman is Fiona Shaw. You may know her as Aunt Petunia.
I hope they address Andor's past involvement with the CIS. That would be sweet.
I love the comedic timing of Jay and/or Adam!
That trailer was awesome, and/or amazing.
Nice one
2:26 I've always wanted a star wars series with an "Ak47 underfolding stock". This weapon looks literally like an Ak47. It's even having an empty clear magazine.
The cinematography is beautiful in this trailer
I saw Chancellor Valorum talking to Mon Mothma. I could see maybe the Ghost crew showing up or maybe some clones popping up somewhere. This show has definitely jumped up on my radar. I wasn’t real hyped on it at first but after the teaser and this trailer, I’m really looking forward to it!
Sadly it’s not him. The subtitles had his name and it wasn’t Vallorum.
Please take no offense, because i admire your passion, but I disagree on the ghost crew. The problem with most media that Disney/Star Wars is producing is that it relies on fan service. It’s cool that it could connect to other stuff, but it doesn’t need to. Star Wars is already a grounded universe and doesn’t need to remind the audience that Jedi exist or “look its the people from Star Wars rebel”. Nothing wrong with Valorum or Mon Mothma, because they fit in this political and serious story about social struggle. Just down ruin the show with cameos, just make it it’s own thing
@@anoven7008 none taken. I’m just saying that the timeline would fit and the story is the formation of the infant rebellion. I could see the Ghost crew or parts of it possibly showing which I’m ok with if it fits the story. So far the writers have done a pretty good job in the Disney+ shows with fan service not being over the top and hitting you on the head just for the sake of it. They did mention General Syndula in Rogue One and Chopper made a quick appearance along with the Ghost so it’s not out of the realm and scope of this show.
He did resemble Valorum. Maybe that was intentional? Also that one quick shot of the Starkiller look alike made me jump.
@@bradyanselmi that is the starkiller voice actor
Disney was like we can give you 1 episode And/or 3 episodes for Adam to edit
The and/or joke should come in Jay’s eating at the end: “Nine … and/or seven …”
Every time I think I’m out, they pull me back in!
This shows got Tony freaking Gilroy
“So we’re going to Endor?”
“No Andor”
“Endor?”
“No I said Andor.”
“Endor. First Base!!”
“You know what? Nevermind…”
They have cookies, Jay. Isn’t that enough? Isn’t. That. Enough?
I'm so excited for this show! We get to see the birth of the Rebellion, something that's always intrigued me.
I thought Rebels was the birth of the rebellion. It's just a small crew that stood up to the empire. This may take place after Rebels, i'm not sure though.
Such a WOW trailer! Will Esdra Bridger's parents appear in this series? It would be a nice cameo, showing how they are influenced and/or are being affected by Mon Mothma's political quest to halt the Empire's ambitious plans of imposing a cruel, fearsome and totalitarian state on the galaxy. Anyway, pizza, popcorn, and beverage are scheduled for the premiere! Hope for the best!
Jay is wanting some Shadows vs. Vorlon energy to the Light/Dark side debate.
The only other cameo i would want is Hera. It makes sense because she has been involved since the beginning. We started to see it in Bad Batch.
We need at least Hera, because I noticed a real lack of non-human aliens, which is kinda weird for Star Wars. Like I get it, there could be places with a mostly human population, or theyre just not showing any, but it's just odd to not see a single non-human alien. Even with a more limited budget, there's a lot of near humanoid species to choose from that could be done.
This is the show I've been dying for! I don't know about you, but I have an entire story about being a pilot, who loves to be a pilot. I'm all about the tech of Star Wars baby!
Loved Rogue One. The concept of the Imperial Senate, Imperial clone troopers, good and evil within both the Empire and Rebellion (the Rebel scum!) is interesting. A spy thriller in the Star Wars galaxy would be cool
Also wanted to add, at the beginning of the trailer, the scrap yard planet that he was on resembled very similarly to the scrap yard planet that the main character of the Star Wars Fallen Order started the game on...would be awesome to see more easter eggs
If we're Workshopping this...
"React And/Or Review And/Or Riff and at the end we're gonna Rate Andor."
Forest Fishbourne 😅😅😅 I love me
YEAH BABY YEAH! 💖💖💖💖👍🕺💃I am soooo super stoked to see this! And THREE EPISODES right out the gate! This looks bloody AMAZING! The cast in this is very exciting as well.....and I'm liking the new faces we're seeing!
And this story looks incredibly strong
The Midsommar-Geddon is unstoppable rolling along
Jay, I think bad Batch is going to get better and better just like Clone Wars and Rebels. Stick it out. I have a feeling we'll be rewarded.
She might not holding her lightsabers but Fulcrum (Ahsoka) was active trying to bring Rebels together. She might be in season 1 or two.
really liked the vibes of this trailer. Even the simpler shots like 3:34-3:44 just really got my intrigue up paired with the lack of stereotypical star warsy music and not a desert planet nor jedi/sith reference in sight. I hope this ends up being really good because clearly the materials are all there
I want what you guys are saying so much. No random cameos that don’t make sense. No lightsabers. Expand the universe! Everything has shrunk so much. And confidence they can do that… is basically zero. BUT I will watch it and hope.
I really wanted Stellan Skarsgard to be playing Garm bel Iblis from the Thrawn novels, but he's not. Still for a show I never wanted, this show looks AMAZING. Cassian was one of the most interesting Rogue One characters so I'm for it. Plus I love Genevieve O'Reilly's Mon Mothma so I am most hype for her too. And while I don't really need lightsabers, I kind of want to see Fulcrum, who we know has one and Cassian might as well have been a Fulcrum agent, who was super active in this era, and cameos by live action Rebels crew would be fun in season 2.
I was literally waiting all day for you two to watch it and react! 😄
It doesn't matter what the subject is Jay's laugh always sends me lmao 🤣
Something I felt from this trailer is it seems like a measured, very cerebral approach to Star Wars. Not knocking anything before this- it just had a very different feel to it.
You get 'em, Jay! I agree with you about the Empire/Dark Side explanation.
Just watch us all be completely and utterly destroyed by whatever's going on with that droid and sobbing along with her
"We're going to watch Andor. Listen..." Then pause for 1 or 2 seconds before saying the next thing. It'll sound like "watch and/or listen."
The rogue one trailer that had the siren sound in it, is by far my favorite trailer for anything Star Wars related. This has heavy Rogue One vibes and I love it
Looking forward to seeing you guys watch and or react to this series.
Yes, yes, yes - could not agree more with your prequel comment. What could have been . . .
This clip stresses me out in a good way I think 🤣🤣🤣 if stress is good..this is it..I think 🤣🤣
I'm a shameless fanboy that loves everything with the Star Wars logo on it....except that resistance cartoon...but I'll admit I'm more excited about this show than I was everything besides Kenobi. Looks amazing!
Rogue One is easily a top Star Wars movie. This has the potential to be one of the best Star Wars shows, and I never would’ve guessed that. I should’ve known just from the strength of Rogue One alone.
I have been saying everything Adam just said about the Empire and the Dark Side for years. Finally I'm not alone.
I want this to be a Star Wars version of Winter Soldier
Missed Easter Egg: 4:12 What is Ex-Grand Chancellor Valorum doing hanging around after he was kicked out of the senate for "lack of confidence?"😄
We’ve gotten so many high caliber TV shows this yesr
hydrate, my guys. three episodes!
1. Nice trailer!
2. Great video, Peaches!
3. While I'm sure hardcore fans will enjoy the political aspect of Andor, I fear that casual/newbies (like me) will not like it or even watch it, because that aspect might bore people.
I hope I'm wrong.
4. Apparently, the reason why Andor got delayed to September is to not overlap or compete with She-Hulk.
Originally, Andor was gonna premiere on August 31st with the first two episodes before being pushed back to September 21st with now the first 3 episodes.
Hope I made the confusion clear.
I'm glad they're starting with 3 episodes since from what Tony Gilroy said each director has taken 3 episodes which tell their own little story then it jumps forward a year and you get another 3 episode arc for the first season then season 2 all takes place in the year and then the moments leading right into Rogue One. I had a thought about your little problem. It probably doesn't help at all but instead of doing one episode the week it comes out you do each 3 episode mini arc once it's finished. That way you get the benefit of seeing the entire mini arc unfold and can comment on the whole thing instead of the individual pieces. If they've done it right you won't get the full picture till the 3 episodes as a whole have been released. Since there's going to be plenty of other stuff to watch I'm considering waiting and watching in 3 episode blocks like mini movies every few weeks which is why I thought I'd throw that out there.
This looks dark and gritty... and I'm ALL ABOUT IT.
Im just here on my Rogue One is my favorite starwars movie island. Cant wait for this
Welcome to Star And/Or Wars
3 episode premier. A rush of excitement followed by the dread of editing those reactions.
But... but... Where's Grogu?
SOMEBODY in Disney marketing is about to be fired...
LOL.
Could have the And/Or bit when you introduce yourselves at the top of the video, e.g. “I’m Adam and/or I’m Jay! Today we’re going to react, review, riff, and/or at the end rate Episode…”
The TENSION on this show feels heavy.
Rouge One was the Stars War movie I was waiting for. Those creators work is showing here. The cast is epic. I agree, hope to see no light sabers or force flips. This struggle is at the ground level. In your face.
I think series like this are the future of Star Wars. The stories are so rich and lore packed a lot of time they need room to breath and not being shaved down to be fit into the box of a 2 to 2 and a half hour movie. Hopefully the success of this show helps green light more shows like it for Star Wars
I will only say this: Grand Admiral Thrawn
If it hadn't have been pushed back, you'd have the option of watching it "Andor" She-Hulk.
Looks good. Can't wait.
Even if I don't like Rogue One I'm just SUPER HYPE for Andor !!!
Hi I wasn’t sure where to do this but I love your reactions. Very heartfelt but also hilarious. I know you don’t do movies but you should react to Everything Everywhere All At Once. Sorry if I went about this the wrong way but I appreciate all the work you two (and your helpers) do :)
The full Watch-A-Long is available on their Patreon; it was the movie of the month for July. www.patreon.com/previewd
I'm so excited for this show!!
I wasn't very interested in this show but after hearing what the filmmakers are saying about it having alot of polictal drama kind of like the game of thrones politics type of drama and then seeing this trailer and it showing how the rebellion is infiltrating the empire through the military or as a politician working undercover and the fact that they have the senate chambers back makes me happy. Now I'm fully on board.
Yeah I wasn’t interested but I’m getting more interesting vibes from this that could really expand SW style
Okay but Bail Organa is the only exception.
Because he was so integral in that aspect.
By not having Jedis and lightsabers, showing the street level, regular folk perspective, it will serve to enhance their mythical nature in other properties. I can't wait.
It looks REAL good. Damn I love Star Wars when there's no Jedi runnin' around.
“We’re watching Star Wars, and/or space politics that sometimes involve wizards”
There is so much more to the prequels that couldn't be told in 3 films.
