- Hi, this is a comparison of the evolution of VooDoo Dolls through the games. I was actually surprised Sims 1 had one because it's a tiny object I hadn't noticed before.
VooDoo Dolls are not something I use a lot in my gameplay so it was fun seeing all their capabilities. Do you use them a lot? What do you think about them?
My opinion?
Sims 1 was firstly introduced in Livin' Large had a very basic start, the doll was only meant to torment others for your Sims fun and the victim looks in pain so it was certainly dark
Sims 2 's came in Bon Voyage and it brought nice additions like being able to affect their relationships and tortures which were more than just making them uncomfortable, I also like how this time it's a reward, do people just find this stuff when playing normally? It would've never occurred to me to dig around for a map
Sims 3 was in The Store in the More Magic! Set but you can always buy it separately, this one introduced binding it and some old spells from Sims 1 and it's actually dangerous if it fails
Sims 4 is the only one that came with the base game so that's a big plus, it just adds moodlets so that's a downer but I do like how now there's a way to revive Sims with it, summoning them is also better than just calling someone, I guess lol
So to me they all have something to offer, but that's just my opinion, what about yours? - Hry

I was thinking the same thing. No real reactions just "eh". No wonder Sims 4 sucks.
Meanwhile, I have at least one or two sims in my Sims 2 game that have the voodoo doll but I've never done anything but have them display it. I'm going to have to go and play around with it now! *insert evil laugh here*

Yeah I wasn't impressed with TS4 voodoo dolls when I found out all they gave were moodlets and nothing else
I started playing the sims 4 and always disliked the graphics from the other ones, but I gave it a try and honestly? The sims 4 is legit the worst, sure have way better graphics and some fun things to do, but the sims 3 is far superior followed by the sims 2. Ugh, I wish there was some kinda fusion between those 3.

I heard that scream when I was little when my favorite sim died and let me tell you I was TERRIFIED.

Sims 4 in a nutshell, I understand their animations must be harder to make but there's already enough ways to manipulate their emotions, they should really come up with new mechanics
I was definitely dissapointed the first time that I used the voodoo on the Sims 4 and there wasn't any animation of the victim being pinch or shaked... That's the fun of the voodoo, that mimics what you are doing to the doll

What ? Sometimes like the sims 1. They were completely family friendly and have some interesting interactions. Since Sims 1 has been the game I’ve played since 2002, I was so familiar with almost everything (that game has huge gameplay), so definitely I was expecting some physical reaction to the voodoo, it instead “the reactions” were pure moods

Why does Sims 4 just suck so much compared to the others? Everything feels dumbed down.
Not the vampires and most of the toddler features. Most people don't have massive gaming PC's to support such detailed games. Everyone complains but fails to think of why it might be.

Sims 3 had the best voodoo doll interactions. That face when they stab the doll with pins is so malicious
Honestly the best thing EA could probably do right now is hold a contest with a bunch of modders and cc creators and just have them take over creating the game packs or update.
Put a momentary prize for 1st, 2nd and 3rd best voted pack mods. Then give royalties to the people who made the packs for each pack purchase
It's a good idea, as most modders worth their salt produce better content than EA does, but I could already see how that would turn out. EA would take their stuff and as payment give them a free copy of the new pack it was made with (like they don't already have it!), then bend their customers over for extortionate prices for the pack containing the modders' works. I doubt any modder with their head screwed on would trust £A enough to fall for that one.

Sure there are roundabout ways to do it but no direct ways.

You can still find sites who show how to change the settings on said packs to have all the cool interactions like the attraction meter and pregnancy meter(it's not random but it's a hidden feature in base game) to track when you can have a baby SIM more successfully and other social interactiosn while not having them woohoo naked for example.
The attraction meter is really cool it gives townies a 'type' based on the Sims that they have dated before or random if they have dated none.
Like sims A is very attracted to sism with average build, sims who wear dark clothes and have charisma trait.
Or ginger hair, hats and foodies.
The Sim their type will glow and more interactions can be used on them, also romance goes faster and better
Out of all of these dolls sims 2 is the more that looks realistic

Small extra details for The Sims 3 Voodoo:
If the sim bound to the doll is a zombie, the bless interaction will cure them.
Also, if you have Supernatural installed, the voodoo dolls interactions along with other magical items from The Sims 3 Store will increase the Spellcasting skill for Witches.
Items such as Lord Ravendancer's Spellbook, and Soothsayer's Crystal Ball also increase the skill, and the crystal ball gives you a bonus if you're in the fortune teller career.

And the cauldron helps with alchemy.
You forgot that if you throw the doll in the fire pit, the sim catches on fire and at least the get together pit a fire skull appears

In TS4 City Living, winning the Humour and Hijinks Festival as the 'Mischief' side (Dark Tea) will give you a voodoo doll as well as some fireworks/cash. Choosing the Light Tea instead and winning will get you a 'Royal We' Microphone.
The Sims 2 is the winner for this reason: its come out with expansion pack and your sim had to earn it. The Sims 3 had a chance for more improvement if only it come out with Supernatural or maybe Island Paradise.
sims 1 for the original idea, tho its very limited, sims 2 is cool for the way u get the voodo, sims 3 removed the cool part of getting it but the voodo itself its improved over the sims 2, so its better in a way just miss the quest to get it.... on the sims 4 is a eh hmmmmmm the animations are so terrible wtf .
There are no animations in the sims 4 either tho... They stand there, make a noise and get a moodlet that doesn't do shit.
Okay most of the time sims 4 can be a big let down to the past games. I hope sims 5 is better. But sims 4 is still amazing.
@@Flipflaps670 Sims 4 is a mess at this point. Full of bugs and amazingly empty even after over 30 additions to the game. TS4 had a bad start is will sadly never ever reach the heights of it's predesessors, who were made decades ago. But let's agree, on hoping that 5 will be worlds better. :)

Ah yes, the Sims. Teaching us that with enough time and patience you too can bend any person to your will, even saving them from death! But also that every action has its consequences
For me sims 2 wins because of how you get it and the many interactions. I also like the anination of it appearing and dissapearing.
Sims 3 ist 2nd because it still has many interactions.
After that Sims 1. Only one interaction with digferent animations but it had it first and the victim reacts.
Sims 4 last because the victim doesn't even react. Plus the possible interactions are lame because it's mostly just mood change

Seems to be a tie between 2 & 3 in my opinion. as 4 just seems to be a watered down version of the previous ones.

2:03 So the gender of voodoo changes according to the language, when in Finnish The Sims 2 its name is Rouva Rämekorva. "Rouva" means Mrs. in Finnish and "Rämekorva" is just a combination of swamp and ear, what is perhaps the surname of some variety. It may have something to do with it so that both words start with the same letter when "Herra" is Mr., so it doesn't fit.

I think the warm up and cool down interactions should’ve been in the Sims 4 so they could die from Heatstroke or Freezing but that might be added with mods if you have Seasons.
I practice Wicca and I honestly love how the Sims franchise has always had magic and the occult in it. I just wish it was more fleshed out than just goofy spells and a glowing cat

Never tried it myself, but I've read other players' reports that it's not guaranteed, it's a dice roll every attempt, and you might need to "toy with death" a few times - _before_ Grim reaches the body to do his thing.

But I like the animation details from Sims 2. Sims 3 is also not bad.

for future video ideas, compare the evolution of certain skills maybe? like gardening, cooking, etc. this could also work for recurring careers~would be fun to see!

I'm so tired that 2 out of 3 loading screens on the Sims 4 are about making allusions to the Voodoo doll and how amazing it is but when you actually have it the only thing that it does is inducing Sims into certain types of emotions depending on the interaction , literally this emotions can be achieved by doing simple things like flirting on the mirror to get flirty or put three painting to get happy by the moodlet "happy decorated ", it's just completely unnecessary to have a voodoo doll to achieve a certain emotion .
I think they've overused emotions at this point, I know it was the thing that they did differently from past Sims but it gets old real fast when they're changing emotions for everything all the time.
I like the part where you can turn into zombie with voodoo doll, nice touch to myth behind zombie origin.

Everytime I sees Sims 3 I recoil in how gross it looks haha. Muddied colours, flat dead looking eyes, strange textured hair... I remember people complaining how Sims 4 was going cartoony but I was so relieved at how much better it looks. It went back out of the uncanny valley territory.
If there was a voodoo game pack to get a new world, the mysterious hut back, new variants and new things to do with other sims in the sims 4. That would be the best
