I have the exact same Fiesta with the 1.4 duratec engine and heres a tip for you guys ,get yourself a spare air box maybe from a breakers yard or keep the one off the car you may of scrapped earlier .Store it away somewhere and the night before you can change the filter at your leisure and simply switch over air boxes ,in my case i have a K and N filter in the car but keep a normal filter as a spare .

Thanks, I gave the throttle body and MAF sensor a good clean today. My car does start but sometimes takes a second attempt or requires pressing the accelerator to get it to start, will see if this has helped.
Which tool do I need to remove/reconnect the hose clips? I was able to get them off but wasn't able to reconnect the clips so have taken them off and fitted standard jubilee clips until I can find the correct tool. Thanks.

Hi Jamie can you smell petrol? do you think it’s overfueling? Without seeing it I would start looking for possible air leak, start spray some water over your hoses see if you can see any bubbles...looking for a possible split hose. Go really carefully don’t let water get in your electrics.

Actually I don't think what you call the MAF sensor is a MAF sensor, it looks like an air temperature sensor so it can run rich when it's cold to warm the engine faster, like an old choke used to be. And if the TPS is the big bulky type maybe the maf sensor is combined with the tps

If you DISCONNECT your battery leads and touch them together or bridge them for 2 mins (minimum) your car will empty all the residual power from its electrical system and perform a hard reset as soon as the battery is reconnected….the leads MUST be off the car and they MUST be touching each other
