  • This video is a step by step explanation of wiring Start Stop basics. As long as you follow the ladder diagram and take it one wire at a time its simple.
    This is the first of many Motor control basic tutorials we will be exploring.

    Hey Craig, appreciate your motivation uploading all these electrical content CZcams videos!
    Electricians need patience if they want to succeed in this trade. If anyone out there is just beginning this trade and feel intimidated don't worry because everyday you wake up and go to work you will learn something new. And sooner than later instead of asking electrical related questions you will be answering these types of questions!
    There is definitely money in this trade. If you want to stand out and become a successful electrician in the beginning listen more than talk. And if you have to talk ask questions.
    I truly believe any of us can be anything we want to be it all matters on where you put your time everyday you wake up..

    I hate to admit I watch so many of your videos, but there’s a big difference between knowing how to wire and install and understanding what your doing. I initially learned by repeating what I saw, there comes a time when you have to understand what your doing and you help easily break down the components where I can understand even tho I’ve wired in these same systems hundreds of times. Thank you for the videos and making good explanation of their functions

      It’s a power jumper going to the relay to make it hold. Otherwise , it would shutoff as soon as u let go of the start button. I agree. He should explain

    Good video but it looks like you have 3 wires connected to the green button , but in your demonstration you only show 2 wires connected to it. The jumper from the stop button and the wire going to the relay. 2 wires . But at the end of the video the green button looks like it has 3 wires connected. Where does the third wire go ?

    I have watched a few of your videos. Special interest in latch holding. I have a two pole 240 contactor that uses 24 volt coil. The latch holding circuits I have seen use contactors with 120volt coils.
    How do I set it up with the 24 volt coil. I have momentary button switches.

    • @craigmichaud-electricalins4602
      @craigmichaud-electricalins4602  Před 3 lety

      you will need a 24 volt transformer to wire through to the buttons and back to the coil. just like I showed in the latching video.. If you have any questions email me sparkyinstructor@gmail.com

    Can you list the buttons and relays that you used?
    Without seeing the whole thing, it’s hard to follow.
    I’d like a start stop button with a light that comes on when it’s on. But I don’t know how to do that. I don’t understand the reason for a relay either.

    I have watched the 8-pin video with a holding circuit. I have watched the start Stop wiring Basics video. I have created a circuit test board that will has multiple start/stop stations. Instead of having to run the stop wire from station to station so it is in a serial mode, is there a way to run all the stop wires to a master and be able to stop from any station?

      @craigmichaud-electricalins4602 I get it but the video should have explained the latch. Look how many questions about this. It would only have taken 10 seconds to discuss the wires. It is a great video now I figured that out but it was frustrating before that.
