HOW TO: REPLACE & RESTORE the Interior Liner & Foam on a Vintage Harley (AMF) Motorcycle Helmet DIY

- We scored a sweet NOS (new old stock) Harley/AMF Helmet at a swapmeet a few weeks ago. It has never been used but the interior did not age well. The foam had broken down, the material was falling out. We thought we would give it a go at restoring/replacing the interior liner ourselves. This is less of a HOW TO and more of a trial and error video, so jump in and learn from our mistakes.
Thanks, J&C - Jak na to + styl
Thanks for the complete video on how and how not to restore a helmet liner. Leaving the foibles in the video makes it easier for someone else not to make the same mistake. I have a late '60s Bell Star helmet that I've had for 20 years and plan to restore it. Because of your video I should be able to do this. Thanks again.
Thanks for the feedback Ralph! We are glad it’s helpful. Good luck with your helmet! J&C
Great video. I especially loved watching you trying to put the foam back in which I was just doing. What a *****. I won’t use it to ride so In debating if I’m even going to put the foam back in. It will be for display.
It was a bit of a mess for sure! Thanks for watching.
I just bought a new Daytona vintage style helmet for less that 50 bucks...........what yer doing would make me nuts but good luck !
