lmao the 3rd chair clarinet is straight vibing during the extended clarinet solo
Lol
my man on the left was vibing the ENTIRE solo
I was in the audience for this as an Undergraduate when it was performed in 1996. I've been all over the world and seen a lot of great performances since. This is in my top 5 most electric performance I've ever seen. The symphonic band felt it from the start. H. Roberts Reynolds did Frank Ticheli's music absolutely correct.
A contrabass clarinet solo. I’m the happiest guy in the band getting to play those 5 notes!
Such a fun piece, as you can probably tell by the 3rd chair clarinetist lol. I usually dislike the longer selections, but THIS is one I'll remember for the rest of my days.
I got to play this clarinet solo during high school and man I had a fun time bending those notes miss it!
this performance will always have a special place in my heart
8:53 clarinet solo
That clarinet solo! Throwing money, flowers, at reeds at you! Go ahead!!!!
He played a growl at the end of the solo. Wow, that was neat
💯
This strikes me as Ticheli's own version of Bernstein and Gershwin type of ideas. Love it!
6:39 was a masterpiece! 👏
Wow I wish I could play that at my high school
Fantástico grupo y memorable interpretación, enhorabuena 👏
6:43 Bass clarinet solo
💐👏👏
Is that Jordan on piccolo? I knew him when we were in high school.
Great piece and excellent solos!
6:30 the best part brooo
💯
Love this piece sm Go blue
What is the difference between this piece and the 2012 version?
6:43
Go bass clarinet!
😊
Bass clarinet for life!
this is the best song I ever heard
Nice, but the tempo is faster than my heartrate after seeing someone drop their instrument
nice
HRR must have used a reduced group; the group on stage looks more like a wind ensemble.
Looks like it, yeah. I like the concept of one-on-a-part (for the most part) wind ensembles, but the problem is just the limit on how much a single person can carry on their part and how it affects the music throughout a program. My high school wind ensemble is very close to a true wind ensemble minus bassoons and oboes and its a nice experience, it makes the group more tight-knit and I like it.

Is there not a contra player in this group?
I can’t find it but for some reason I can hear it at 1:40 lol
@@bigsaucesammy8321 it's just the lower range of the bass clarinet covering the contra part, probably around a low d or c sharp
10:44
sounds familiar
