Hi Mayra, sorry but for some reason I can't reply directly to your comment. I haven't used wax paper yet, not with Encaustic, so I wouldn't know. I'll have to get some and experiment ;)
How do you get past the pebbly texture after putting wax over the top of the surfpaper? do you just scrape?
I'd never heard of surf paper before. Would you get the same result if you use wax paper? I have used wax paper on encaustics and it worked but just wondering how surf paper compares to it.
Naomi, can the rayon paper withstand the heat or does it melt? Will it not catch fire with a blow torch?
Hi Sarah :) Yes the Rayon Paper can take the heat, much like rice paper. It will definitely catch fire if you hold the heat gun on it, especially corners and edges, but as long as I move the heat gun quickly it's fine. I wouldn't suggest using a blow torch on it, unless you want slightly burnt edges!?
