    • @ariarichards-
      @ariarichards- Před rokem +130

      @scrub The phrase "proceeds to" refers to a cause and effect scenario, where something happens which causes a person to do something. The prefix "pro" in "proceed" means it happens afterwards, as opposed to "precedes", as "pre" means before. To put it simply, "Proceeds to" means that someone has taken action after an event, in this case it happens after he says "I know it's one of the pointy ones." Therefore, "Proceeds to" is an excellent and perfectly acceptable way for this person to get their point across.

    I'm not sure what architects are in America, but my mother works in an architect's bureau in Germany. (she's a draughtsman). She definitely has to think of everything when planning a building. The fire escapes, the supporting beams etc. But they also only do clients based work so they already have the client who has all kinds of stupid ideas that would never work.

      The US and Canada (and some other similar countries) have an entire different approach to architecture as a profession that makes it highly devoid of anything not morphology related, as opposed to the rest of the world in where an architect knows as much about structural design, installations and services as much as design, and probably will end up working in fields unrelated to design.

    Then for the other subjects such as structural engineering, construction management, city architecture theory and sustainable architecture theory, we had 3 hours of essay based exams for each subject.

      @philmybutup4759 dude architecture is the hardest of all engineering colleges. U get no time to sleep and get scolded n roasted for your work u spent hours to complete. Ur work never satisfy all. U get projects to do in 90% of the subjects U study. Not only that, u have to study physics, math , structure, materials, survey, literature, and country specific language subject. Each project takes at most 4-5 hours to complete at minimum and you get at least 6 project every week in 5 working day which is proportionality measured by scale with measured color grading and hand drafted. If you do slightly bad, u get to redo it. There ia also model making. So it gets quite expensive. I have my room full of architectural project sheets. This is just for practical subjects. U get research project for other theory subjects every week. Each semester has 4-6 theory subject with 4-5 practical subject at the latest. Only fun part of architecture in college is on case study time when you get to go to various places for research. There's monthly test every month in my country for it where you get called to ur parents if you do bad and u can imagine what would happen in my Asian household after that 😂😅😂.

    I know this is exaggerated to be funny but just to be a bit serious for a second everyone in their fields contribute to their own knowledge to make the projects better. Designing a building that catches the eye has its own challenges just like engineers face challenges in their fields to make the architects ideas become a reality. I don't agree in undermining the other's career and claiming one is better than the other. and this is coming from an engineer.
