Great video and tutorial Joe, this is the only reason I went with Peco Insulfrog switches so I did not have to put in switch motors. Now with this method I can use some Walther's Shinohara switches in places and feel the fear of wiring!!! Than you so much for sharing and makeing this video. Muse
Joe: Like the table top demo on the wiring, still makes ya scratch your head... LOL. Would have liked to see the signal lights tied in. Will look really cool when you have the signals and switches tied in together. 2009 I went through that exact tunnel. First dual purpose train/vehicle tunnel I've ever seen. Cool that you're modeling the Whittier Tunnel. Skol! Ron//
I have the signals hooked up now. I was debating whether to do a video on it for not being that I took the exact setup from DIY & Digital. I still might show how I hooked it up! That would be a bucket list item for me to drive through that tunnel. I also am going to scratch build the tunnel entrance to it. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Juicy frogs 🐸 is a good thing. Lol I like that term. That’s great that there’s a saluting to have juicy frog with hand through turnouts. Great job on the video.
Very informative Joe! I need to keep videos like this in a playlist on my channel. Everyone has great how to videos and I need to spread the word! Keep it up! - Joey
Joe,those ground throws look great, but how do you get around the layout ,throwing those throws? On a big Layout you must have to stop the train at each turnout.
I once ordered a whole case of dillas. This guy with a huge moustache delivered them. He was wearing an actual tie though. Great tutorial. -Mark
hahahaha, that sounds like it could be my brother!
Fantastic video and nice close ups of tiny parts. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it
great how to video Joe. Thanks for sharing, Rob

Very nice instructional video Joe. I like the idea of signal lights to indicate the switch position.

Thank you very much. I actually hook the switch indicator today. I had to go back and rewatch my video because I forgot how to do it lol.

Im glad you found it useful, I guess I should have said in the video that the turnout I was working on is a Shinohara. Thanks for enjoying the video.
Well done Joe. I will use this video as a reference for in the future. Thank you.
Its a lot of wiring but it works great. Ive been running trains over it nice and slow all morning. No issues!
Great job on the video Joe. That ground throw makes wiring the frog so much easier.
It really does, I walked into not knowing anything about it and I think it worked out pretty well.
Awesome video! I will go back to this video when I get to the signal stage. I like the manual throw too.
Thanks man! I will be having a video coming out how to set up signals for your layout. Im glad you liked this video and will use it in the future!

Thank you very much. I had a lot of fun with this one
Great how to Joe! I've been considering using a couple of those, now I'll give it a try. (in n scale) Thanks for sharing that!
It works great, I might do all my turnouts like this, my engines don't stall over the frog now!

Yes, I will have to slow down and throw the turnouts, if Im fast enough on the main lines I can trow the switch before the train gets there.
Hey Joe, Great video tutorial...John
Thank you very much. I still use your video of how to make the dwarf likes work off a hand thrown turnout.
