    ✏️ My Thoughts:
    The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card is an incredible card relative to its annual fee and sometimes it doesn't seem like that's talked about enough. For $95 annually, you can get over $1,000 in points, rewards, and benefits.
    This video compares the Chase Sapphire Preferred side-by-side with some of its most popular peers, including the Capital One Venture Rewards card and the Wells Fargo Autograph Journey. It also takes a look at the value you're getting compared to elevated or "luxury" travel cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve and Capital One Venture X. For each card, I dive deep into the sign up bonus, credits & benefits, redemptions, earnings categories, and downgrade flexibility.
    Whether you're a seasoned points enthusiast or just getting started on your credit card journey, this video has something for everyone. Say goodbye to missed opportunities and hello to a world of possibilities with the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card.

    NOTE: The brand new Citi Strata Premier also falls into the CSP's peer set but we still think the Sapphire Preferred packs a bigger punch. Definitely a lot of value there for the right person though! Stay tuned for future videos diving deeper into that card and what it brings to the table.

      VX is one of my absolute favorites (and I have it myself). Some people have trouble getting over the $395, even if there is enough value packed in to make your money back. CSP is a great option for them but also a great combo option with the VX like you're doing. Good luck!

  • @docsays

    I must concur. The CSP is bar none 1 of the best (if not the beat) entry level travel card!
    I think a runner up would be the AmEx Green, Citi Strata or WF Autograph

    If one thing were to happen, the removal of Hyatt as a transfer partner, I am curious to see what the general consensus would be, my guess is that this card would fall off a cliff after the year 1 sign up bonus as I know a lot of people (myself included) that use the CSP (Chase Sapphire Preferred) as the gateway for funneling Chase trifecta points to Hyatt. What I am trying to get at is, with all of the positives pooling and transferring point from an ecosystem (Bilt has one card) is the differentiator for the CSP (Chase Sapphire Preferred). Bilt has no sign up but no annual fee, 3x on dining, 2x on Travel and primary CDW (sound familiar lol) but is missing the 1.5 on the CFU and the 5x on the CFF.Coincidence or not (I am sure it is 100% on purpose) the Citi Stra Premier can now also be a “CSP” 😂.

    • @TheRDGuarantee
      @TheRDGuarantee  Před měsícem +2

      Hyatt would be a killer loss as a transfer partner. Or if they changed up their point redemption values so that they were way less valuable for aspirational travel.
      With the Citi Strata Premiere getting relaunched and the Wells Fargo Autograph Journey this space seems like its going to be getting more competitive... which is an awesome thing for us all

      @@TheRDGuaranteebilt is a no AF card and though I wouldn’t say it’s better, stands on the same Platform the preferred does. I value the concierge of the bilt along with the travel protections and 2x boosters every starts of the month. Sweet card and looks slick. The preferred is due for a rework if it costs $95.

    One thing I’d like to add that you didn’t mention is that if you downgrade the CSP to a Freedom or Flex, you lose the entire Chase UR point system with it. Any points accumulated on your CSP will then turn into cashback points. So while you technically can downgrade, you give up much of the potential value of those points. Which for me is the entire reason you would hold point earning cards from Chase to begin with.

    • @TheRDGuarantee
      @TheRDGuarantee  Před 13 dny +2

      If I could time it right, ideally I'd spend the Chase UR points for the enhanced value, or transfer them out to a partner I knew for a fact that I was going to use before making the downgrade complete.
      At the end of the day, I don't see a ton of people downgrading from the CSP because of the low AF, but always good to have that option if you need it.

    • @JJ-dr2ve
      @JJ-dr2ve Před 13 dny

      @@TheRDGuarantee Totally agree. I certainly see more than $95 in value per year. And for myself, I’d likely never want to be without a UR “key.” The ability to downgrade makes it less obnoxious to reapply for a new SUB after 48 mos. It’d really grind my gears to need to close an account to do that vs. the downgrade and reapply method.

      Green card is a low key workhorse for some people. I feel like this one is making a bit of a comeback recently, but maybe that's because the Gold and Platinum are under a little pressure...

  • @mlodyme3675

    Very overrated card. Does not even have free TSA/Global Entry benefit. Earning categories are lousy; lets be really, who buys groceries online? Unless you dine all day long this is essentially 1x card. US Bank Altitude is great card, earning 4.5x on any tap to pay purchase (when redeemed for travel) which is essentially all purchases these days and does not restrict you to some over priced travel portals or limited offer / partner award tickets and other nonsense.

    • @TheRDGuarantee
      @TheRDGuarantee  Před měsícem +1

      Yea the Altitude Reserve is pretty incredible for the fact that as a high annual fee card it actually earns well for you.

    • @lewislouis6246
      @lewislouis6246 Před měsícem +4

      You are comparing a 95 dollar card with a 400 dollar card & thats the reason why its "overrated" in ure book? I am telling you. Credit channels have so many minds absolutely confused. Its trendy and fun to roast the csp but don't allow trends to actually confuse you with the power of this card. u.s. altitude reserve is a 400 dollar card and barely accessible for most due to its strict rules. It also doesn't have travel partners making it totally irrelevant to people who actually transfer for max value (using a travel card as...a travel card) I am not saying the csp is perfect because it for sure needs better multipliers but the recent trend of stomping csp is beyond overhype.

    • @flakocibao
      @flakocibao Před měsícem +2

      I cant agree more with this. Csp should have better cash back for groceries and gas as premium travel card with an annual fee.

    • @mlodyme3675
      @mlodyme3675 Před 12 dny

      @@lewislouis6246 US BAR has one of the easiest credits to use, essentially turning $400 into $75 AF card, not $400. Outside the initial SUB, the CSP is average. People get excited about transfer partners, but due to tons of restrictions on award flights and accommodations, those are difficult to use. Think of this way. Would you rather use a card that earns you 1x for all purchases and hope one day to transfer these points to perhaps score a deal that will net you 2x, 3x - perhaps 4x if you get super lucky? Or would you rather use a card that gives you 3x on any purchases and gives you 4.5x on travel with no effort, no gimmicks, no transfers, no flight restrictions etc. Each card has similar end results potential; with US BAR you earn more upfront, with CSP you earn less , but have opportunities to double or triple the points by transferring and scoring award flights. Each method has pros and cons.
