Shadowless has copy rights (4) up to 99 whereas Unlimited has 1999 written after three two digit copy right dates.
shadow less cards also come with a different size font in HP lever plus at the very bottom It will have a year stamp.
shadow less 1995,96,98,99 where shadow has 1995,96,98

What should I think if I found a base set charizard with shadow and 1st edition stamp?
Did you know there was acually 4 prints!?after unlimited it was 1999-2000 base set.and if you compare a card from both sets the 1999-2000 base set is a little lighter.but how you can tell is at the bottom it won’t say 1999 like unlimited it will say 1999-2000.Sorry got a little crazy😆🤣
@1:02 Don't forget that the first edition Machamp isn't shadowless, that's the *only* exception.

does the first edition machamp also have 1995, 96, 98, 99 or is it just 1995, 96, 98? mine's in a different language and I've heard somewhere that the uk first editions have a different format for how the dates are labelled

Base Set 2 was a reprint set with a different holo pattern. It included cards from base set, jungle and fossil. They are newer cards and the holo is a little nicer, but not as rare as the original prints.

I have so many base set 2 as well. When I was a kid I thought they were way cooler cuz of the holo and I thought 2nd edition was better then the normal cards. Young and dumb
I'm still looking to get a Shadowless, as I've poured a ton of cash into a 1st Edition Miscut Charizard (PSA 4), the one that sold on eBay for $1k. Hit my wallet hard, but never had seen such a Miscut Charizard.. Quite unique and well worth it!
Yea they can be quite expensive and unfortunately are out of a lot of collectors price range. I think they have adjusted to a "normal" price nowadays. Even though they are high if the price changes I think it would only go up!

Why does the English version raise alarms, I bought my Pokemon cards from a registered Pokemon dealership and my 1st editions have the shadow and also I bought them all in 1999.
Please explain.
First edition non American cards will have a shadow
If your cards are legit, I believe this means you have 1st editions from the Fossil or Jungle sets (not the Base sets). 1st editions for Fossil and Jungle DID have a shadow AND came in English AND were also from 1999.

Are these Shadowless cards only for the first original wave of Pokemon cards or are there Shadowless 1st Editions for ever single year of Pokemon cards up to today?
The shadowless cards were only a thing for the proginal base set of cards. They were the "transition" period between 1st edition base set and unlimited base set.

Probably a decent amount, I didn’t know there was such a thing as a shadowless machamp. But all of them are 1st edition so who knows how much value it being shadowless adds

Question my husband has a couples of Pokémon’s that’s have a stamp that says 1edition but they have a shadow on the right side. Could you help me out are they legit?
If they are machamp holo cards then then they are real, but sadly not worth much. there was a printing error that caused all machamp base set reprints to have a first edition stamps. so the ya rent really first edition cards. probably only worth around ten bucks in the us.

Yes, everything Jungle and Fossil should have a shadow. Base Set was the only set to experiment with shadowless.

First Editions went away with the Skyridge set about 20 years ago. No more 1st editions for English cards after that!

Everywhere you go they will run from $1,000-$1,500.
I usually check the PSA ID number to check how much each grade is worth

What is a thick stamp
Ignatius Martin there is a slight variation in the stamps printed. They have the standard, thick, and then a “shadow” stamp. I may do a video on them all soon!
