For mine it says applications that have requested access to the microphone will appear hear and on app clips it says app clips that have requested access to the microphone will appear hear

Maybe you can help with the issue I’m having. When making phone call the recipients say “you sound muffled or in a tunnel”. The only way they can hear me clearly is if I put the bottom microphone basically into my mouth and talk. I downloaded a few diagnostic tools and tested all microphones and speakers. They all passed. I did a voice memo recording and sound is clear. I did a video both front and rear camera and again sound is clear. What’s your thoughts on why when making a regular phone call and holding the phone to your face like normal do I sound muffled/broken?

I have IOS 17.0.3
Since I made the update my microphone does not work during phone calls. It works in whatsapp and other apps, but not during normal phone calls. I’ve tried all those things shown in your video, but it still does not work…
It is very frustrating because I don’t know what else I can do

I have the same problem here. I woke up this morning and Mic is not working on my messenger app but works on facetime and regular phone call. Even when using airpods the other person on messenger can't hear me.

Hey bud, I found a solution. I tried to downgrade from ios 17 to 16 and found this video. It's weird but it worked. Bottom line is the downgrading process did not work. My phone is still in 17.0.3 but the microphone got fixed. I'll take it!

Could you please talk even faster. I had to listen to each suggestion 5 times. ‘What you have to do is’, perfectly understandable, then you race through the steps which you obviously know like the back of your hand, but your speech speeds up & words blend together & you practically mumble at high speed . It gets impossible to follow, let alone understand.
You are solving problems with step by step instructions. You have to slow down.
