      @jasonfrost6448 Před 4 měsíci +20

      People got used to "unless the person is lying near dead on the ground unnecessary roughness shouldn't be called" which is not how the rule works. Crown of the helmet contacted the player above the neck. That's a penalty no matter how light it was.

    • @undeadarmy19

      I def agree with the call. The dude wasn't just leading with his helmet, he was actively trying to hit the dude in the head, and on what was essentially a defenseless receiver.
      You can literally see the dude adjusting his trajectory and following the dude down as he's falling. Then the dude does wind up making contact, even though its not a lot, I think him trying to was bad enough to where any contact warranted the flag.

    • @Grakees
      @Grakees Před 4 měsíci +5

      I disagree with the "shit is weak" portion. Player lead with the crown of the helmet, did make contact with the back of the receivers helmet, even light contact like that can cause a concussion. That penalty is all about safety and reinforcing that you do not use your helmet as part of your tackling kit; and you do not aim for the head.

      I agree. But Justin fields runs too much as a QB. If he wants to make it in this league he needs to actually pass. Otherwise he will join the trash heap of “mobile” QB’s. some of these are close calls that could go either way but the ones that drive me nuts are when somebody grabs a face mask, you see his head twist and the ref is right there looking at it, and they don't call it. yet they call all these ticky tack calls every week. It's the old thing, "how did you NOT see that ref!" yet they will call some guy for being 1 inch over the line for lining up in the neutral zone, as if that effects anything, or the teensiest tiniest flinch for an offensive false start. He winks and it's false start.

    This whole video is why I feel refs and umpires in every pro sports league should be fined a percentage of their pay for just down right bad calls. And it would make them think about a call a little longer than they do now especially if their money is on the line. If everyone else on the field can be fined and is at the very highest level of football then why not hold the refs to the same expectations? You want the best of the best on the field then make them put their money where their mouth is.. and I think that’s fair, cause it’s not easy to make it as a ref onto a pro field so it’s a privilege, and like I said if they have to put their money up if they make a mistake then I’d bet bad calls get cut in half.. idk why this wasent a thing a long time ago it seems completely fair if you ask me.

    • @undeadarmy19
      @undeadarmy19 Před 4 měsíci

      There should 100% be a way to overturn calls, even after the game. Refs do need to be held MUCH more accountable. Theyre out there affecting people's livelihood everywhere. Not just the players, but the people betting on the games too.
      I play a lot of disc golf, and while the players do a lot of the reffing themselves, if a player doesn't agree with a call, they're allowed to call a provisional, which allows them to play from both scenarios, keep the score for both on that hole, and later once its reviewed they keep the score that applied to it.
      Take the Cowboys vs Lions game. They could've let the 2pt conversion stand, then played it out the other way too. Then, it doesn't matter if they make it or not, the Cowboys simply play like they need to go down a kick a FG. If they get it, the 2pt doesn't matter anyways. If they dont get it, you cant go back and say "well we dont know how the game would've ended though" like a lot of Cowboys fans were claiming. Even though the chances of them getting in FG range with the time they had left would've been very slim.

    • @michaeltaylor4271
      @michaeltaylor4271 Před 4 měsíci

      @@undeadarmy19 I agree with what you’re saying, but it’s going to be hard to get everyone on board with letting it stand and playing it out like you said. And it would add a lot of confusion to the game especially for people who are just learning the game, and then you have to decide do they do that at all levels? If not which do they start at? But I get your idea and I agree there needs to be something done, idk if there is a good idea that everyone would be happy with, that’s why I feel the only realistic option is to fine the refs, because no team could say it’s unfair or it favors one side or anything, and in the scenario you explained there would always be someone who’s mad or thinks it’s unfair even tho it isn’t. It’s just hard to get people on board with changing things about the actual game like that, I don’t want you to think I’m saying it wouldn’t work cause I think it would if everyone was on board. But like I was saying no one could say it’s unfair to fine the refs, it dosent interfere with the way the game is played and nothing about the game itself is actually changed. But I know fining the refs won’t be a cure all, they will still have issues with that solution.
