  • In this video I preview the Zatori io+ Electric Scooter. This is a dual motor electric scooter that's slated to start shipping sometime around February of 2024 and is at the top of my list for most anticipated electric commuter scooter of 2024.
This is not a sponsored video. I am truly excited to see this scooter in 2024.

The specifications look fantastic. The full magnesium chassis is pretty radical. The dual 400w motor combined with the 720Wh Samsung battery is terrific and this is where the Apollo Go missed the formula big time with it's smaller, 30 cell pack. At 49lb (ESG tested weight) and 540Wh battery, the ratios are just out of wack for the go. It's nice to see Zatori doing that right. The integrated everything handle bar, display, throttle looks really hairy from a "components sometime fail" standpoint and exposed plastic turn signals are just begging to be destroyed on the first drop with the Apollos being the example of how not to do it. VMAX on the other hand seems to have nailed that issue with their rubber over-bumpers. Zatori's website now shows a June shipping estimate. I hope they don't delay any further.

Yah I really like the specs on this scooter. Hoping to get it soon as it’s been too long and their delivery date keeps getting pushed out. They mentioned they are fine tuning things prior to shipping them out. We’ll see I guess.
I definitely agree with you that having everything integrated into the handlebar design can get tricky if a component fails. Makes for a clean look but with some potential sacrifices.
It would have been nice to have at least a coil spring up front. Not having one definitely saves some weight, so we’ll have to see how it rides on bump roads with just the rear suspension.

An interesting scooter for sure, but I’m still not bummed about my Apollo Go preorder. The biggest thing is price and performance. You get a dual motor scooter with a peak combined output of 1500 watts. 10” tires are great. The weight of the scooter at 20kg is also great for carrying around. However, there’s some things this is lacking. The biggest thing missing for being the “Best commuter scooter of 2024” is an IP66 dust and water resistance rating. I didn’t see any mention of that on their website which is concerning. I personally see the Apollo Go being the commuter scooter to beat, but it’s nice to see some more competition. Also IMO mechanical disc brakes are just bad, but that might be my bias as a former mountain biker. At least they went with shimano

The Apollo Go is a really nice looking scooter and the IP66 rating is a major selling point. You can tell their design team actually puts major effort into their scooters. They also did an excellent job with the lighting on the Go. Congrats on the preorder, looks like a really good buy.
As for the Zatori, it’s got an IP55 rating which is a step above the IP54 we see with a lot of other scooters. IP66 would be sweet though. As soon as I get my hands on the Zatori I’ll take it through its paces and put together a full review.

@@tomsgadgetgarage I think because they're canadian they understand that it rains and snows. Regardless, micromobility is getting better and better. I regret not having a car less and less

Well, looks like I’ve joined you in the pre-ordering haha. I’ll definitely put the Go to the test whenever it arrives. Excited for a compact dual motor. Hopefully they start shipping soon 🤞

Looks like it's going to be a nightmare to repair though, and 36v? I guess we'll see.

Yah it’ll be interesting to see how design and practicality intersect with this one.

How can you tell? It seems like a good quality scooter not sure why you assume it’d be hard to repair
