It was a pleasant surprise and a smart decision as the game will have many secrets left unsloved for years even with a community effort, which is claimed by the dev in his devlog!

Yep considering how much him and his fanbase hate Xenoblade. I'm pretty sure there was going to be an direct mini today but Nintendo realized they didn't have enough stuff and Dunky was protesting that his reveal was right next to XB3 so they cancelled the direct, did an indie world instead, and dropped the direct's "big reveal" (the XB3 DLC and Amiibo news) in a shadow dropped trailer.

Remember when many developers and game producers thought that Big Mode wouldn't succeed... I think Dunkey knows his stuff, and while the trailer for it was... interesting to say the least, but I feel dunkey producing Animal Well is a great idea. New publishers don't need to publish something groundbreaking or revolutionary as their first title. They need something unique and creative to get people sucked in. Animal Well seems to be exactly that, and I wish the original devs and the Dunkster all the best!

What I mean by the devs and producers thing is that when Big Mode got announced, many were behind dunkey, but there were plenty of people and Developers criticized Dunkey for being a CZcamsr who would be in charge of publishing many games, which sounded like a bad idea. Though, once Bigmode got shown off, many of those same critics found themselves more optimistic for Big Mode and found confidence in Dunkey.
