It's my "dream" to spend a Christmas in Oslo and/or Bergen.

I think visiting in early-to-mid December would be vastly preferable to spending Christmas itself here! Christmas is very family-focused and most places are going to be closed, most Christmas markets close several days before Christmas too. Feb-March is also a lovely time with more likelihood of snow and lovely cold mornings :)

Any ideas on the weather this Christmas? The level of cold weather gear I'll need if I go?

I think meteorologists will struggle to know the weather 5-6 weeks from now, so I have no chance, sorry! Thanks for watching 🙌

Im planing to visit Oslo this Christmas. Do you think it's a good idea to rent a car and visit city's like bergen or go up to see the northern lights? Or is renting a car too risky because of the weather?

Visiting Bergen is a good idea, both Oslo and Bergen have nice atmospheres in the run-up to Christmas. But it would be cheaper to fly to Tromsø/Alta instead of renting a car if you want to see the northern lights. Flights aren’t cheap, but the car rental, fuel and tolls will be much more expensive. Bear in mind you’ll need to spend several days in the north to give yourself a good chance of seeing a display, they are not “on” every night, plus you might encounter cloud cover.

im planning on doing the bergen line (form bergen to olso), this christmas! if you want to visit both bergen and oslo is a good alternative. it is a 6h+ trip by train, but the line is considerer to be on of europe's most beautifull train rides. check out some youtube videos about it just to have a general ideia :D
i'd recommend that over renting a car to go to bergen.

do you believe is a good idea to go on a solo trip to oslo in december?

I’m not sure what you mean by the question really? I solo travel around Norway all the time and have never felt threatened. December is a good time to visit for shopping and experiencing what you see in the video, but it will be dark and cold of course! Thanks for watching 🙌
